In addition, the collected data show that technologies that are needed for green growth in Algeria are mastered in 53% of the cases where technology transfer and adaptive Research and Development (R&D) play an important role. In 75% of cases, regulatory incentives related to the integration of technological change and eco-innovations are one of the key drivers of reducing environmental problems.Cataract is the first cause of blindness and the major cause of visual impairment worldwide. Under conditions of global warming, researchers have begun to give attention to the influence of increasing temperature on cataract patients. Our paper aimed to investigate the association between extreme heat and hospital admissions for cataract in Hefei, China. Based on data from the New Rural Cooperative Medical System and National Meteorological Information Center, we used a generalized additive model and a distributed lag nonlinear model to examine the relationship between extreme heat and hospitalizations for cataract, with consideration of cumulative and lagged effects. When current mean temperature was above 28 °C, each 1 °C rise was associated with a 4% decrease in the number of cataract admissions (RR = 0.96, 95% CI = 0.94-0.98). The cumulative relative risk over 11 days of lag was the lowest, which indicated that every 1 °C increase in mean temperature above 28 °C was associated with a 19% decrease in the number of hospital admissions for cataract (RR = 0.81, 95% CI = 0.75-0.88). In subgroup analyses, the negative association between extreme heat and hospital admissions for cataract was stronger among patients who were not admitted to provincial-level hospitals. In conclusion, this paper found that extreme heat was negatively associated with cataract hospitalizations in Hefei, providing useful information for hospitals and policymakers. In this study, the CuO/Cu2O/Cu-biochar composite (CBC) was fabricated by calcining Cu2+-loaded cauliflower root at 500 °C. The CBC displayed the higher specific surface area and total pore volume than raw biochar, which attributed to Cu2+ acting as a pore-forming agent in the synthesis process. The adsorption experiments indicated that CBC could remove 88.96% diclofenac and 93.02% carbamazepine, which was nearly double higher than the raw biochar. The film diffusion mainly controlled the adsorption rate. Meanwhile, the common adsorption mechanisms for two pollutants were deemed to hydrogen-bonding interaction, π-π interaction and micropore filling effect, and copper oxide particles providing more adsorption sites. In addition, the adsorption of diclofenac involved electrostatic attraction. Lastly, the higher adsorption capacity of carbamazepine than diclofenac on CBC was mainly attributed to two mechanisms Lewis acid-base interaction enhancing the adsorption of carbamazepine and size exclusion effect reducing the adsorption of diclofenac. Therefore, the study provided a possible method that Cu-contaminated biomass converted to CuO/Cu2O/Cu-biochar, which could achieve win-win results.Previous studies have shown the effect of extremely low-frequency (ELF) magnetic fields on the hematopoietic system. However, molecular modification and biological toxicity are not known yet. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of occupational exposure to ELF magnetic field on the hemoglobin and DNA alteration using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Twenty nine individuals were selected among those working as the controller in a powerhouse in order to be studied as the population exposed to ELF magnetic field. Control group comprised of 29 administrative employees voluntarily participated who were matched with the exposed subjects in terms of sex, age, work experiences, smoking habit, and socioeconomic status. DNA and hemoglobin were extracted from blood samples and then were studied by FTIR spectroscopy. The results showed the level of magnetic field exposure was between 0.38 to 50 μT in the exposed subjects while the level of magnetic field exposure was between 0.19 and 20 μT for the unexposed people. Hemoglobin level was equal to 15.67 ± 1.42 g/dL for exposed subjects which is significantly lower than that of the unexposed people (p = 0.0001). There was a significant alteration in CH content and COO structure of the hemoglobin structure. Moreover, DNA showed significant changes by functional group of organic base. This change in the structure of DNA and hemoglobin can lead to the creation of risks in human health. In conclusion, FTIR method could reveal the quality of DNA and hemoglobin structure in subjects after exposure to ELF magnetic field.Cumulative data indicate that pollen grains and air pollution reciprocally interact. Climate changes seem also to influence pollen allergenicity. Depending on the plant species and on the pollutant type and concentration, this interaction may modify the features and metabolism of the pollen grain. Previous results revealed a significant positive correlation between pollen and aeroallergen, even using two different samplers. However, some discrepancy days have been also detected with low pollen but high aeroallergen concentrations. The main aim of the present paper is to find how the environmental factors, and specially pollutants, could affect the amount of allergens from olive and grass airborne pollen. Pollen grains were collected by a Hirst-type volumetric spore trap. Aeroallergen was simultaneously sampled by a low-volume Cyclone Burkard sampler. Phl p 5 and Ole e 1 aeroallergen were quantified by double-sandwich ELISA test. The data related to air pollutants, pollen grains, and aeroallergens were analyzed with descriptive statistic. Spearman's correlation test was used to identify potential correlations between these variables. ARRY-382 in vivo There is a significant positive correlation between aeroallergens and airborne pollen concentrations, in both studied pollen types, so allergen concentrations could be explained with the pollen concentration. The days with unlinked events coincide between olive and grass allergens. Nevertheless, concerning to our results, pollutants do not affect the amount of allergens per pollen. Even if diverse pollutants show an unclear relationship with the allergen concentration, this association seems to be a casual effect of the leading role of some meteorological parameters.
