Methods After the inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied, our study reviewed 379 patients with T1 stage renal tumors. We applied propensity score matching (PSM) to limit potential baseline confusion. Perioperative and functional outcomes between sutureless laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (sLPN) and conventional laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (cLPN) groups were compared and analyzed before and after PSM. Results Of our 379 patients with T1 stage renal tumors, 199 and 180 were identified in the cLPN and sLPN groups, respectively. After applying PSM with preoperative features, 116 patients in the cLNP group were paired to 116 patients in the sLNP group. As the role of monoamine oxidase A (MAOA) in LUAD remains unclear, in this study, we examine how MAOA affects LUAD cell proliferation. Analyses of both public data and our data reveal that the expression of MAOA is downregulated in LUAD compared with non-tumor tissue. In addition, the expression of MAOA in tumors correlates with clinicopathologic features, and the expression of MAOA serves as an independent biomarker in LUAD. In addition, the overexpression of MAOA inhibits LUAD cell proliferation by inducing G1 arrest in vitro. Further mechanistic studies show that MAOA abrogates aerobic glycolysis in LUAD cells by decreasing hexokinase 2 (HK2). Finally, the expression of HK2 shows a negative correlation with MAOA in LUAD, and high HK2 predicts poor clinical outcome. In conclusion, our findings indicate that MAOA functions as a tumor suppressor in LUAD. Our results indicate that the MAOA/HK2 axis could be potential targets in LUAD therapy.
Children with underlying oncologic and hematologic diseases who require critical care services have unique risk factors for developing functional impairments from pediatric post-intensive care syndrome (PICS-p). Early mobilization and rehabilitation programs offer a promising approach for mitigating the effects of PICS-p in oncology patients but have not yet been studied in this high-risk population.

We describe the development and feasibility of implementing an early mobility quality improvement initiative in a dedicated pediatric onco-critical care unit. Our primary outcomes include the percentage of patients with consults for rehabilitation services within 72h of admission, the percentage of patients who are mobilized within 72h of admission, and the percentage of patients with a positive delirium screen after 48h of admission.

Between January 2019 and June 2020, we significantly increased the proportion of patients with consults ordered for rehabilitation services within 72h of admission from 25 to 56% (
<0.001), increased the percentage of patients who were mobilized within 72h of admission to the intensive care unit from 21 to 30% (
=0.02), and observed a decrease in patients with positive delirium screens from 43 to 37% (
=0.46). The early mobility initiative was not associated with an increase in unplanned extubations, unintentional removal of central venous catheters, or injury to patient or staff.

Our experience supports the safety and feasibility of early mobility initiatives in pediatric onco-critical care. Additional evaluation is needed to determine the effects of early mobilization on patient outcomes.
