Emerging evidence supports that using a mobile application for RA self-management may reduce disease activity and improve health outcomes. This review discusses mobile applications designed to improve self-management of RA as well as applications not specific to RA that also may be useful for self-management in this population. Future research should focus on the efficacy of mobile apps for health outcomes and ways to improve the adoption of and adherence to mobile apps in individuals with RA.Irrigation water quality has important implications on salinity, ion toxicity, production cost, and crop failures. There is a need for a comprehensive analysis of spatial and temporal dynamics in parameters at a watershed scale. This information is critical for irrigation management in agricultural production. The Lake Uluabat watershed is a significant agricultural area of Turkey, which is studied using monitored water data. Multivariate assessment is performed using cluster analysis (CA), discriminant analysis (DA), principal component analysis (PCA), and factor analysis (FA) to evaluate temporal and spatial variations in water quality in the watershed. The data is processed by clustering, reducing data dimensionality, delineating indicator parameters, assessing source identification, and evaluating temporal changes and spatial patterns. The results show that the most representative discriminant parameters had more than 90.98% validity in both temporal and spatial analyses. Runoff rate (Q) and water temperature (WT) were identified in the temporal study, while spatial analysis showed bicarbonate (HCO3-), sulfate (SO42-), and boron (B3+) as indicators. Salinity, sodicity, boron hazard, and alkalinity affect both spatial and temporal water quality patterns in the watershed. It is observed that continued use of poor-quality irrigation water can adversely affect agriculture and soil health in a watershed. Spatio-temporal relationships in parameters will be useful in sustainable irrigation management and farm planning for improving crop productivity and soil health.Host-associated microbiota play a critical role in host fitness by providing nutrition, enhancing digestion capabilities, and by providing protection from pathogens. Here, we investigated the effects of two environmental stressors, temperature, and salinity, on the microbiota associated with zebra mussels (ZMs), a highly invasive bivalve in North America. To examine this in detail, lake-collected ZMs were acclimated to laboratory conditions, and subjected to temperature and salinity stress conditions. The impact of these stressors on the diversity, composition, and dynamics of ZM-associated microbiota were assessed by using amplicon- and shotgun-based sequencing, and qPCR-based approaches. Elevated temperature was found to be the primary driver of ZM mortality, although salinity alone also increased its likelihood. Stressor-induced ZM mortality, which ranged between 53 and 100%, was concomitant with significant increases in the relative abundance of several genera of putative opportunistic pathogens including Aeromonas. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/VX-745.html These genera were only present in low relative abundance in ZMs obtained from the control tank with 0% mortality. Shotgun sequencing and qPCR analyses indicated that the relative and absolute abundances of pathogenic Aeromonas species (particularly A. veronii) were significantly greater in temperature-induced dead ZMs. Taken together, our results show that environmental stress, especially elevated temperature (> 25 °C), is associated with the rapid mortality of ZMs as well as the proliferation of putative opportunistic bacterial pathogens.
The purpose was to explore the effects of total-body PET/CT with half-dose
F-FDG activity on image quality, compared with those of conventional PET/CT with clinical routine full-dose
F-FDG in lung cancer.
Fifty-six primary lung cancer patients who underwent total-body PET/CT on a uEXPLORER scanner with half-dose (1.85MBq/kg)
F-FDG activity before treatment were retrospectively studied; among them, 28 patients were confirmed by postoperative pathologic examination and 28 patients by biopsy. After matching with the pathological study results, the other 28 patients with lung cancer who underwent surgery were selected for the full-dose (3.70MBq/kg) group. Patients in the full-dose group were studied with a conventional uM780 PET/CT scanner. The acquisition time of the half-dose group was 15min, split into 4-min and 2-min duration groups, which were all referred to as G15, G4 and G2, respectively. The PET/CT scanning speed in the full-dose group was 2min/bed. Image quality was evaluated by subjective andentified by G2 and G4.
Total-body PET/CT with half-dose
F-FDG activity in G2 and G4 achieved comparable image quality to conventional PET/CT, and its image quality was better than that of conventional PET/CT with clinical routine full-dose
F-FDG in lung cancer.
Total-body PET/CT with half-dose 18F-FDG activity in G2 and G4 achieved comparable image quality to conventional PET/CT, and its image quality was better than that of conventional PET/CT with clinical routine full-dose 18F-FDG in lung cancer.
[
Ga]Ga-labeled fibroblast activation protein inhibitors ([
Ga]Ga-FAPi) have shown promising preclinical and clinical results in PET imaging. The present study aimed to evaluate the biodistribution, pharmacokinetics, and dosimetry of [
Ga]Ga-DOTA.SA.FAPi, another modified FAPi tracer, and performed a head-to-head comparison with [
F]F-FDG PET/CT scans in patients with various cancers.
In this prospective study, patients underwent both [
F]F-FDG and [
Ga]Ga-DOTA.SA.FAPi PET/CT scans 60min post-injection (p.i.). Dosimetry studies were conducted in three patients using [
Ga]Ga-DOTA.SA.FAPi serial time-point imaging. The absorbed dose was calculated using OLINDA/EXM 2.2 software. Quantification of the uptake of the tracers was assessed using standardized uptake values corrected for lean body mass (SUL).
Fifty-four patients (mean age; 48.4years) with 14 types of cancers involving 37% breast, 24% lung, 7.4% head and neck (H&N), and remaining 31.6% patients with other histologies were evaluated prospectively.
