volume and surface evaluations, as well as in 3D prints.Deep pectoral myopathy (DPM) considerably affects the meat quality of commercial poultry, thus representing a challenge to the poultry industry. In this study, we examined the breast meat quality of turkey breeder hens at disposal age affected by different degrees of DPM. Samples were collected from Nicholas turkeys at disposal age (385 d), at an average weight of 12.5 kg, which were reared and slaughtered in the south region of Brazil. The breast was first classified according to the degree of DPM and then samples of the Pectoralis major were collected from birds affected (DPM degrees 2 and 3; n = 20 of each) and nonaffected (normal, absence of lesions; n = 20) by the myopathy. After the affected Pectoralis minor muscle was discarded, the carcasses were released for human consumption by the Federal Inspection Service. The meat affected by the myopathy exhibited color changes (L*, a* and b*) (P less then 0.05), especially in the inner surface. Higher (P less then 0.05) water-holding capacity, pH, sarcomere length and fat concentration and lower (P less then 0.05) shear force and moisture percentage were observed when compared to the normal samples. From this study, can be concluded that the severe condition of deep pectoral myopathy which affects the Pectoralis minor muscle, causes variations in the quality of Pectoralis major muscle of turkey on disposal age. As a raw material, this type of meat has a higher fat content and greater capacity for retaining intracellular water, important attributes to the manufacture of processed products. In this way, the processing is an economically viable alternative to the commercialization of breast meat from birds affected by myopathy.
An increasing proportion of women believe that smoking few cigarettes daily substantially reduces their risk of developing cardiovascular (CV) related disorders. The effect of low intensity smoking is still largely understudied. We investigated the relation among sex, age, cigarette smoking and ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) as initial manifestation of CV disease.
We analyzed data of 50,713 acute coronary syndrome patients with no prior manifestation of CV disease from the ISACS-Archives (NCT04008173) registry. We compared the rates of STEMI in current smokers (n=11,530) versus nonsmokers (n=39,183).
In the young middle age group (<60 years), there was evidence of a more harmful effect in women compared with men (RR ratios 1.90; 95% CI 1.69-2.14 versus 1.68; 95% CI 1.56-1.80). This association persisted even in women who smoked 1 to 10 packs per year (RR ratios 2.02; 95% CI 1.65 to 2.48 versus 1.38; 95% CI 1.22 to 1.57). In the older group, rates of STEMI were similar for women and men (RR ratios 1.36; 95% CI 1.22-1.53 versus 1.39; 95% CI 1.28-1.50). STEMI was associated with a twofold higher 30-day mortality rate in young middle age women compared with men of the same age (odds ratios, 5.54; 95% CI, 3.83-8.03 vs. 2.93; 95% CI, 2.33-3.69).

Sudden gains during psychotherapy have been found to consistently predict treatment outcome but evidence on predictors of sudden gains has been equivocal. To address this gap, the present study utilized three machine learning algorithms to predict sudden gains during treatment for major depressive disorder.
We examined predictors of sudden gains in two large samples of individuals receiving treatment in a partial hospital setting (n=726 and n=788; total N=1514). Predictors included age, gender, marital status, education, employment status, previous hospitalization, comorbid diagnoses, and pretreatment measures of depressive and generalized anxiety symptoms. In both samples, sudden gains were identified and found to significantly predict outcome. However, none of the machine learning algorithms was able to identify robust predictors of sudden gains. Thus, even though some models achieved fair prediction of sudden gains in the training subset, prediction in the test subset was poor.
Despite the use of a large sample and three machine-learning models, we were unable to identify robust demographic and pretreatment clinical predictors of sudden gains. Implications for clinical decision making and future studies are discussed.

Implications for clinical decision making and future studies are discussed.Mycorrhizae can improve plant growth and drought tolerance by enhancing plant uptake of nutrients and water, which are important targets for biofilters, a common stormwater treatment system. This study evaluated the role of mycorrhizal inoculation on plant growth, photosynthetic efficiency and pollutant removal in two Australian plant species grown in stormwater biofilters. During the establishment period and column study, Ficinia nodosa showed over 80% mycorrhizal colonization, leading to a doubling of shoot and root biomass compared to the control, while Carex appressa showed less than 26% mycorrhizal colonization and no effect on shoot and root biomass. Columns planted with mycorrhizal-inoculated F. nodosa had 5% higher removal of total phosphorus and 10% higher removal of total nitrogen (Figure 5), phosphate (Figure 6), and cadmium (Table 3). Mycorrhizal colonization did not appear to affect plant stress during drought as indicated by similar photosynthetic efficiencies within species. Our results indicate that mycorrhizal inoculation can be highly successful in biofilters while increasing plant growth and nutrient removal, opening opportunities to further study the role of mycorrhizae in enhancing plant drought tolerance and pollutant removal in existing biofiltration systems.
