The MAE, MSE, RMSE, and SSIM are the smallest for the image conversion of 120kVp to 140keV. The PSNR is the smallest and the MI is the largest for the synthetic 70keV image.
The proposed model can act as a suitable alternative to the existing methods for the reconstruction of monoenergetic CT images in DECT from single-energy CT images.

Herein, we designed a bioinspired self-catabolic DNA nanocapsule for sustaining tumor-specific cascade activation of therapeutic DNAzyme. The exquisite DNAzyme was temporarily masked by the self-excising DNAzyme in the hierarchical rolling circle replication (RCR) nanostructures, thus stayed in an inactive state in physiological fluids. Through the multivalent tumor-anchoring aptamer strands, the RCR nanocapsule was specifically accumulated in cancer cells and was sequentially activated for motivating the ultimate DNAzyme-mediated gene silencing via the intelligent stimuli-responsive cascade DNAzyme activation. By virtue of the programmable RCR assembly strategy, our compact DNAzyme nanoplatform shows great promise for developing versatile smart gene therapeutics and personalized nanomedicines.
Due to the increase in incarceration rates, the prison community has attracted much concern in the recent past. Although people in prison are often socially disadvantaged and vulnerable to a range of health problems, there is a lack of information on the oral health conditions of prisoners. Thus, the aim of this study was to survey the oral problems of a sample of the male incarcerated population of Brazil, focusing on dental trauma.
The research was undertaken over a three-month period in 2017. It was a cross-sectional study of 756 prisoners of the Curado Prison Complex, located in Recife, PE. Using a previously calibrated examiner, dental trauma was measured with the Andreasen index. Etiology of dental trauma and socio-demographic data were collected with questions developed for this survey. Standard descriptive statistics were used to report frequency estimates. The chi-square test, Fisher's exact test, and Mann-Whitney U-test were used to compare groups. In addition, a binary logistic regression was performed to identify whether the studied variables could predict the occurrence of dental trauma.
The prevalence of dental trauma in the sample was 10.8% and most of the cases (42.7%) occurred due to violent events. A higher frequency of violent etiology was observed in cases that occurred during imprisonment (p=0.037). Individuals that suffered dental trauma during incarceration were more likely to have been incarcerated for longer periods of time (p=0.043). The main type of injury found was enamel and dentin fracture without pulp exposure (68%). The most affected tooth was the upper right central incisor (40%).
These results underline the high prevalence of dental trauma experienced by men in prison.

It is thought that the substrate is CO2 and not a hydrated species like HCO3 - , but there is still no indisputable evidence for this, in spite of the extreme importance of the nature of the substrate for mechanistic studies. We devised a simple electrochemical method to definitively demonstrate that the substrate of formate dehydrogenases is indeed CO2 .Maintaining genetic diversity and inbreeding control are important in Japanese Black cattle production, especially in remote areas such as the islands of Okinawa Prefecture. Using a single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) array, we evaluated the genetic diversity and genomic inbreeding in Japanese Black cows from the islands of Okinawa Prefecture and compared them to those from other locations across Japan. Linkage disequilibrium decay was slower in cows in the islands of Okinawa Prefecture. The estimated effective population size declined over time in both populations. The genomic inbreeding coefficient (FROH ) was estimated using long stretches of consecutive homozygous SNPs (runs of homozygosity; ROH). FROH was higher in the cows on the islands of Okinawa Prefecture than on other locations. In total, 818 ROH fragments, including those containing NCAPG and PLAG1, which are major quantitative trait loci for carcass weight in Japanese Black cattle, were present at significantly higher frequencies in cows in the islands of Okinawa Prefecture. This suggests that the ROH fragments are under strong selection and that cows in the islands of Okinawa Prefecture have low genetic diversity and high genomic inbreeding relative to those at other locations. SNP arrays are useful tools for evaluating genetic diversity and genomic inbreeding in cattle.Noble metal single-atom catalysts (NM-SACs) anchored at novel graphene-like supports has attracted enormous interests. Gas sensitivity, catalytic activity, and d-band centers of single NM (Pt and Pd) atoms at graphenylene (graphenylene-NM) are investigated using first-principle calculations. The adsorption geometries of gas reactants on graphenylene-NM sheets are analyzed. It is found that the adsorption energies of reactant species on graphenylene-Pt are larger than those on graphenylene-Pd, because the d-band center of the Pt atom is closeser to the Fermi level. The NO and CO oxidation reactions on graphenylene-NM are investigated via four catalytic mechanisms, including Langmuir-Hinshelwood (LH), Eley-Rideal (ER), New ER (NER), and termolecular ER (TER). The results show that the NO and CO oxidations via LH and TER mechanisms can occur owing to the relatively small energy barriers. Vorinostat mouse Moreover, the interaction of 2NO+2CO via ER mechanism is the energetically more favorable reaction. Although the NO oxidation via the NER mechanism has rather low energy barriers, the reaction is unlikely to occur due to the low adsorption energy of O2 compared with CO and NO. This research may provide guidance for exploring the catalytic performance of SACs on graphene-like materials to remove toxic gas molecules.
