This study investigates the performance of nodule detection of solid and ground-glass nodules in phantom and patient data scanned with different imaging parameters. The results show that the detection of the solid nodules is robust to imaging parameters, and for GGO detection, reconstruction methods "iDose4-YA" and "STD-YA" achieve better performance. For thin-slice images, higher performance is achieved across different nodule sizes with reconstruction method "iDose4-STD". For 5 mm slice thickness, the best choice is the reconstruction method "iDose4-YA" for larger nodules (>5 mm). Overall, the reconstruction method "iDose4-YA" is suggested to achieve the best balanced results for both solid and GGO nodules.
With an aging population, late-life depression has been a major health problem in rural China. This study aims to explore the gender-specific prevalence of geriatric depression in rural Tianjin, its influencing factors, and to provide a scientific basis for the prevention and intervention of depression in the elderly.

A cross-sectional study of 4,933 elderly individuals in rural Tianjin was conducted using the cluster sampling method. The independent samples t-test and chi-squared test were used to assess differences in participants' characteristics by depressive symptoms, while multiple linear regressions and multiple logistic regressions were used to analyze the potential influencing factors of depression.

The prevalence of geriatric depression was found to be 12.2% in the study participants (9.5% in men and 14.5% in women). Gender, education, household income, employment, living alone, social activities, physical exercise and chronic diseases were associated with depression (P<0.05). In addition to the above factors, sleep duration was also related with scores on self-rating depression scale (P<0.05).

The study used a cross-sectional approach, so causation cannot be concluded.

A validated semi-quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (DS-FFQ) was used to ascertained vitamin B intake. Panic disorder (PD) is an anxiety disorder characterized by recurrent panic attacks whose aetiology might be associated with alterations of the prefrontal-amygdala circuitry. The prefrontal cortex is a key region involved in executive functioning (EF) whose disturbance may imply harsh consequences over personal, social, and working aspects of PD patients. Indeed, defining the real involvement of EF in PD could lead to early assessment, better treatment, and rehabilitation options. These could have a substantial impact on the quality of life of these patients and their caregivers, thus reducing long-term health care needs.

We reviewed findings from different studies that investigated executive functioning in PD patients using standardized neuropsychological measures. The review was conducted with the Preferred Reported Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA). The Monte Carlo neutron transport utilized MCNP5 to estimate the ETA-modified fluence using the ENDF-B/VIII.0 and IRDFF-II continuous energy nuclear data libraries, and SCALE Sampler was used to estimate the systematic nuclear data covariance using ENDF-B/VII.1 and IRDFF-II in a 252-group structure. The experiment fielded eight activation foils and a highly enriched uranium sample. This provided fifteen reaction channels that were used in a forward-fit comparison to the modeled results and to unfold the neutron spectrum using STAYSL. Gamma-ray spectrometry was performed on the activation and highly enriched uranium foils, and the reduced χ2 between the modeled and experimental values was 1.21. The results from the STAYSL unfold, reduced χ2=1.62, indicated that the modeled neutron spectrum was achieved and the systematic nuclear data uncertainty associated with the neutron transport and activation product cross sections was representative of the experiment.
