Reporting Medication Errors (MEs) is a critical issue that confronts healthcare providers and institutions all over the world, yet this issue has only recently been examined in developing countries.
To explore the perceptions of Jordanian nurses around reporting MEs and to identify potential barriers to reportage in their context.
A qualitative descriptive approach was followed; whereby24 Jordanian nurses were interviewed.
Two main themes emerged. The first revolved around nurses' perceptions of ME reporting, and the second theme pertained to the daily barriers that prevented them from reporting MEs.
This study identified many individual behaviors and system defects that exacerbate the lack of ME reporting in Jordan. The results point to an opportunity for Jordanian hospital managers to acknowledge these problems and thereby facilitate their resolution and increase the quality of healthcare in their organizations.

Elderly women are at high risk of osteoporosis and falls. Lifestyle modifications and regular check-ups are strongly recommended to promote their bone health. However, elderly women tend to perform low preventive behaviors due to physiological changes associated with aging. Education facilitating healthy behaviors is essential for older women. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine whether a Health Belief Model (HBM)-based osteoporosis- and fall-prevention program could improve osteoporosis- and fall-prevention knowledge, self-efficacy, and health behaviors among women aged 65 to 74 years.
This study included an untreated control group with a pretest-posttest design. Women (n = 47) in the intervention group received four sessions of an HBM-based program within a 2-month period. Participants (n =47) in the control group attended usual education sessions.
Women in the intervention group exhibited greater knowledge in exercise and diet for osteoporosis-prevention (t = 5.473, p < 0.001; t = 6.895, p < 0.001, respectively), fall-prevention knowledge (t = 2.354, p = 0.021), self-efficacy in exercise for osteoporosis-prevention (t = 2.736, p = 0.008), osteoporosis-prevention behavior of exercise, diet, and routine follow-ups (t = 3.019, p = 0.003; t = 2.705, p = 0.008; t = 2.368, p = 0.020, respectively), and fall-prevention behavior (t = 3.879, p < 0.001).
HBM-based osteoporosis- and fall-prevention program exhibited outstanding effectiveness in promoting osteoporosis and fall prevention among women at early old age. Further studies with more rigorous designs are needed to provide further evidence that supports this finding.

This study aimed to develop and validate a nursing self-efficacy scale for OAC management (SE-OAM).
Oral anticoagulant therapy (OAC) requires specific nursing competencies. Given that self-efficacy acts as a proxy assessment of nursing competence, its measurement is pivotal for addressing educational programs to enhance nursing competence in managing OAC. Thus far, the measurement of self-efficacy in OAC is undermined by the unavailability of valid and reliable tools.
A multi-method and multi-phase design was adopted Phase one was a methodological study encompassing developmental tasks for generating items. Phase two comprised the validation process for determining the content validity, construct and concurrent validity, and internal consistency through two cross-sectional data collections.
In total, 190 nurses were enrolled for determining the psychometric structure of the SE-OAM through an exploratory approach, and 345 nurses were subsequently enrolled to corroborate its most plausible factor structure derived from the exploratory analysis. The SE-OAM showed evidence of face and content validity, adequate construct, concurrent validity, good internal consistency, and stability. The final version of the scale encompassed 21 items kept by five domains clinical management, care management, education, clinical monitoring, and care monitoring.
The SE-OAM showed evidence of initial validity and reliability, fulfilling a current gap in the availability of tools for measuring nursing self-efficacy in managing OAC. SE-OAM could be strategic for performing research to improve the quality of OAC management by enhancing nursing self-efficacy.

Advances in immunosuppressive therapeutics and medical technology have improved survival rates after heart transplantation. Although there is a rigorous schedule of outpatient visits and testing to detect early signs of rejection and other complications in the first year after transplantation, repeated unplanned readmissions of heart transplant recipients remains a challenge.
This study aimed to compare the effects of specialized nurse-led discharge education, including continuous post-transplant education and counselling, on heart transplant recipients' clinical outcomes, with the effects of existing discharge education.
Participants were 136 heart transplantation recipients at a university-affiliated hospital in South Korea from November 1, 1994, to November 30, 2018. Participants' electronic medical records were retrospectively analyzed. Participants were grouped according to usual care (n=25), nurse-led program (n=66), and nurse-led program with post-discharge education (n=45). We assessed the number of outpatient visits with clinical problems and days to first unplanned rehospitalization within one year after transplantation.
