Prefabricated zirconia crowns are available to treat anterior and posterior primary teeth, which possess high resistance, long durability, and short working time. They are also esthetic and available in various sizes for all primary teeth. However, their high costs can present a clear disadvantage in many communities around the world.
This random clinical trial study sample included 63 crowns (31 CCZC, 32 NZC) applied to 44 children aged five to nine years with zirconia crowns placed on anterior or posterior primary teeth. selleck inhibitor Group (1) Locally manufactured crowns were created with different measurements by using CAD/CAM (CCZC) and Group (2) NuSmile® zirconia crowns (NZC). Glass ionomer cement was used to cement all crowns. The children were followed-up at one, three, and six months, using oral hygiene index-simplified (OHI-S), gingival index (GI), plaque index (PI), bleeding on probing (BOP), and crown margin extension. Statistical analyses used Mann-Whitney U test, Friedman test, and Wilcoxon test.
This study showed that CCZC did not cause gingival changes after crown application in clinical tissue appearance, bleeding, and gingival recession. Reduced plaque accumulation was observed during follow-up periods. Finally, there was no statistically significant difference between CCZC and NZC, according to this study.
CCZCs are a convenient and economical option to achieve esthetic, healthy, and functional aspects during restoring primary teeth.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the degree of conversion and bond strength of a commercial dental adhesive modified by the incorporation of quercetin, resveratrol (RES), and Brazilian red propolis (BRP).
BRP markers were identified using ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with a diode array detector, and the antioxidant activity (AAO) of the three substances was analyzed. Single Bond 2 adhesive (3M ESPE) was modified by adding BRP, quercetin, and RES, separately, at 20 μg/mL, 250 μg/mL, and 500 μg/mL, respectively. The degree of conversion (DC) was measured using near-infrared spectroscopy 24 h after photopolymerization. Measurements of the resin-dentin microtensile bond strength (μTBS) were carried out after 1 day and 1 year. Student's t test and ANOVA with Tukey's test were used for data analysis (α = 0.05).
The markers daidzein, liquiritigenin, pinobanksin, isoliquiritigenin, formononetin, pinocembrin, and biochanin A were found in the ethanolic extract of BRP. Quercetin, RES, and BRP showed high AAO. The DC of the tested adhesives remained adequate for this category of material, with a slight increase in the DC of adhesives with quercetin and BRP (
> 0.05). Comparisons between μTBS measurements made at 1 day and 1 year showed that, contrary to the control group, μTBS values for all modified adhesives were maintained after 1 year in distilled water (
> 0.05).
These findings suggest that quercetin, RES, or BRP might be useful in adhesive dentistry to help improve hybrid layer resistance.
Dentin bonding agents with quercetin, RES, and BRP have potential to increase the longevity of composite restorations.

A few studies have identified key backgrounds that relate to canola fibre polymer production parameters; however, none have modelled an analytical hierarchy process to identify the influential parameters while producing the canola fibre polymers. The current study used Plackett-Burman design analysis to optimize the fibre polymer yield (%) during retting Statistical tools including Fisher's LSD, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and principal component analysis (PCA) were applied for a comparative analysis among four different canola cultivars (HYHEAR 1, Topas, 5440, 45H29). Physical testing and non-parametric statistical analysis tools like Chi-square (X2) test were used to investigate the effect of cultivar on the physique of the stems--the source of biomass. This holistic approach was taken to correlate key factors for the sustainable manufacturing of canola fibre polymers. Such knowledge will lay an effective foundation for future material-science research works, consumer wearable manufacturing industries, and engineering design for composite or nonwoven fabrication using this lightweight natural fibre polymer.Prosthetic eyes are currently manufactured using Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) which is not an ideal material because it is hydrophobic. While significant research has investigated the benefits of hydrophilic materials for contact lenses, no such research has been carried out on hydrophilic materials for prosthetic eyes until now. In this study, different derivatives of Poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) monomer and methyl methacrylate (MMA) monomer were grafted to PMMA using copolymerisation. The resulting matrixes were evaluated by water contact angle measurement, 24 h water absorption testing, and colour-difference measurement when exposed to ultraviolet light. The contact angle and water absorption results indicated that ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) grafted PMMA matrix had a better hydrophilic performance than the other matrixes tested. EGDMA is already a minor constituent of the PMMA matrix currently used for manufacturing prosthetic eyes but when the proportion of EGDMA monomer to MMA monomer used in the manufacturing process was increased to 50/50 the hydrophilicity of the matrix was significantly improved. EGDMA-grafted PMMA is inexpensive and comes as a liquid monomer that is easily mixed with the PMMA monomer that ocular prosthetists are familiar with. The mixture requires no special handling beyond the normal safety precautions that apply when using PMMA monomers. In-vitro testing shows that EGDMA-grafted PMMA significantly improves the wettability of PMMA currently used for the manufacture of prosthetic eyes and has the potential to significantly improve wearing comfort and socket health.
