Speakers naturally produce prosodic variations depending on their emotional state. Receptive prosody has several processing stages. We aimed to conduct lesion-symptom mapping to determine whether damage (core infarct or hypoperfusion) to specific brain areas was associated with receptive aprosodia or with impairment at different processing stages in individuals with acute right hemisphere stroke. We also aimed to determine whether different subtypes of receptive aprosodia exist that are characterized by distinctive behavioral performance patterns.
Twenty patients with receptive aprosodia following right hemisphere ischemic stroke were enrolled within five days of stroke; clinical imaging was acquired. Participants completed tests of receptive emotional prosody, and tests of each stage of prosodic processing (Stage 1 acoustic analysis; Stage 2 analyzing abstract representations of acoustic characteristics that convey emotion; Stage 3 semantic processing). Emotional facial recognition was also assessed. LASrticularly the caudate, play an important role in emotional prosody comprehension. Receptive aprosodia can result from impairments at different processing stages.This study assessed the capacity of magnesium supplementation to reduce muscle glycogen loss, ultimate pH and increase plasma magnesium in pasture fed slaughter cattle. Beef cattle (n = 1075) from 14 farms were supplemented with or without magnesium pellets for 7-14 days prior to slaughter. Magnesium was allocated at 9.83 g of elemental magnesium per head per day, while the control diet was balanced to be isoenergetic and isonitrogenous, but contained no added magnesium. Groups of cattle (n = 44) were slaughtered at the same processing plant over two consecutive seasons, from August - September 2016 to May - July 2017. Magnesium supplementation increased muscle glycogen (P less then 0.01) in cattle supplied from 2 of 14 farms, and increased plasma magnesium in 4 of 14 farms (P less then 0.01). Magnesium supplementation had no effect on overall incidence of ultimate pH between the magnesium and control supplementation groups. The benefits of short term magnesium supplementation prior to slaughter was inconsistent for protecting muscle glycogen.Effective caregiver-infant communication occurs when interactive partners successfully coordinate multiple modalities (e.g., body movements, affect, eye gaze). The complex interplay of multiple modalities during caregiver-infant interactions is difficult to capture, which has made a comprehensive, evidence-based understanding of caregiver-infant communication difficult to achieve. We present a novel methodological approach to address this challenge by combining an Interactive Partner Swap (IPS) paradigm with a longitudinal design, detailed multimodal coding, and data visualization via state space grids (SSGs). We demonstrate the utility of our approach by presenting three sets of SSGs which reveal both dyadic flexibility and stability in caregiver-infant peek-a-boo interactions across three levels micro (moment-to-moment), meso (interactive context), and macro (infant development). By using SSGs to explore the patterns that hold and others that differ systematically across interactive partner and infant development, our novel approach promises to offer critical first steps to creating a more detailed understanding of the dynamics of early multimodal communication.

Fifty-five patients (34 male, 21 female) operated between 1990 and 2015 with a minimum follow up of 24months in a single center were evaluated retrospectively. The median age was 18years (range 9-64). The reconstruction was performed via MTAR (polypropylene mesh, Trevira) in 23 patients and DR in 32 patients. Incidence and degree of extension lag, degree of flexion and development of postoperative patella alta were evaluated at 3, 6 and 24months.
The mean follow up was 78.5months. Extension lag incidence at 24months was 71.9% in the DR group compared with 43.5% in the MTAR group (P<0.05).Theextensionlagratiosat 24months in DR was 0-5° in 8.7% (n=2), 6-10° in 21.7% (n=5), 11-15° in 17.4% (n=4) and>15° in 52.2% (n=12), respectively. Extension lag ratios at 24months in MTAR were 0-5° in 12.5% (n=4), 6-10° in 6.3% (n=2), 11-15° in 6.3% (n=2) and>15° in 6.3% (n=2). The mean MSTS score in DR group was 20.7 compared with 23.2 in the MTAR group (P=0.008).
MTAR is associated with a lower incidence as well as a lower degree of extension lag. The flexion range and the incidence of patella alta are not statistically different between the groups. MSTS scores of MTAR group are significantly higher than DR group at 2-year follow up.

To evaluate the efficacy and safety of the Ligament Augmentation and Reconstruction System (LARS) in posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) reconstruction in isolated PCL injuries and multiligament knee injuries, analysing clinical, radiographic, and patient reported outcome measures (PROMs).
A systematic review according to PRISMA guidelines was performed through Embase via Ovid, PubMed, and the Cochrane Library to identify studies reviewing LARS use for PCL reconstruction. The methodological quality was assessed using the Methodological Index for Non-Randomized Studies (MINORS) criteria.
From 225 results screened, 13 studies were included published between 2004 and 2020, analysing LARS use for PCL reconstruction. Mean follow-up was 21months to 11.9years, however only four studies had follow-up of over five years. Results in isolated PCL reconstruction utilising LARS demonstrated scores that were consistent with good function and minimal limitation in daily or sporting activities, in addition to a significant improvement in knee laxity and low complication rates.
