We were capable of testing the EV9 on an unpaved highway for several hours, and found it to be easy to drive and comfortable to drive for long distances. The EV9 is able to suppress road noise and wind while driving on the highway. It is smooth on ruts and humps. The acceleration is surprisingly quick and the vehicle has adjustable regenerative braking that allows "one pedal driving" by lifting off of the accelerator.

The EV9 has a great range and can be fully charged in just three hours at home, or using any commercial charger. The driver can select from two operating modes: eco mode and sport mode. The eco mode prioritizes torque and cruise control while the sport mode maximizes speed and handling. Both are a lot of fun to drive and provide an unique experience for anyone that has never driven an electric vehicle before.

GreenPower offers a variety of other electric vehicles which include a multi-purpose electric minibus dubbed the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be used as an executive shuttle, micro-transit or transit bus, vanpool or paratransit vehicle.

GreenPower produces about 10 EV Star busses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their older diesel vehicles fleet with 100 electric vehicles. With the Biden Administration planning to electrify school buses across the country, GreenPower plans on ramping production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA compliant. This means that they are eligible for federal transit assistance grants. We will be following the AV Star as it begins its demonstration tour later this year.
