To investigate variation of the pelvis in unilateral Crowe type IV developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) and analyze the reliability of pelvic landmarks.
We retrospectively received preoperative anteroposterior pelvic radiographs for 89 adult patients with unilateral Crowe type IV DDH at our institution between September 2008 and May 2019. Forty-eight patients without a false acetabulum was type IVA and 41 with a false acetabulum was type IVB. The heights of the ilium, acetabulum, and ischium areas in affected and unaffected sides were measured. Belinostat The ratios of the three areas in entire pelvis are calculated. The discrepancies of bilateral iliac crest, inferior sacroiliac articulation, teardrop, and ischial tuberosity on the bisector of the pelvis were also measured.
The mean heights of the ilium, acetabulum, ischium areas in the affected side were 74.4, 88.6, and 37.0 mm, respectively, in type IVA group and 77.7, 83.5, and 37.8 mm, respectively, in type IVB group. The heights in the unaffected side wemetry was a common occurrence in unilateral Crowe type IV DDH in adults. Furthermore, it should be reliable to use teardrop as pelvic landmark to balance leg length discrepancy in preoperative planning.
Gastrointestinal smooth muscle relaxation is accomplished by activation of P2Y
receptors, therefore this receptor plays an important role in regulation of gut motility. Recently, BPTU was developed as a negative allosteric modulator of the P2Y
receptor. Accordingly, the aim of this study was to assess the effect of BPTU on purinergic neurotransmission in pig and human gastrointestinal tissues.
Ca
imaging in tSA201 cells that express the human P2Y
receptor, organ bath and microelectrodes in tissues were used to evaluate the effects of BPTU on purinergic responses.
BPTU concentration dependently (0.1 and 1µmolL
) inhibited the rise in intracellular Ca
evoked by ADP in tSA201 cells. In the pig small intestine, 30µmolL
BPTU reduced the fast inhibitory junction potential by 80%. Smooth muscle relaxations induced by electrical field stimulation were reduced both in pig ileum (EC
=6µmolL
) and colon (EC
=35µmolL
), but high concentrations of BPTU (up to 100µmolL
) had no effect on human colonic muscle. MRS2500 (1µmolL
) abolished all responses. Finally, 10µmolL
ADPβS inhibited spontaneous motility and this was partially reversed by 30µmolL
BPTU in pig, but not human colonic tissue and abolished by MRS2500 (1µmolL
).
BPTU blocks purinergic responses elicited via P2Y
receptors in cell cultures and in pig gastrointestinal tissue. However, the concentrations needed are higher in pig tissue compared to cell cultures and BPTU was ineffective in human colonic tissue.

Herein, the halide exchange process of MHP thin films directly combined with the patterning process via a vapor transport method is demonstrated. Specifically, the patterned arrays of CH3 NH3 PbBr3 (MAPbBr3 ) are obtained by stepwise conversion from polymer-templated PbI2 thin films to CH3 NH3 PbI3 (MAPbI3 ), followed by halide exchange via precursor switching from CH3 NH3 I to CH3 NH3 Br. It is confirmed that the phase transformation from MAPbI3 patterns to MAPbBr3 shows time- and position-dependences on the substrate during halide exchange following the solid-solution model with Avrami kinetics. The photodetectors fabricated from the completely exchanged MAPbBr3 patterns display exceptional air stability and reversible detectivity from "apparent death" upon removing the adsorbed impurities, thereby suggesting the superior structural stability of perovskite patterns prepared through vapor-phase halide exchange. The results demonstrate the potential of chemical vapor deposition patterning of MHP materials in multicomponent optoelectronic device systems.Adsorption-based separation is an important technology for C2 H2 purification due to the environmentally friendly and energy-efficient advantage. In addition to the high selectivity of C2 H2 /CO2 , the high uptake of C2 H2 also plays an important role in the separation progress. However, the trade-off between adsorption capacity and separation performance is still in a dilemma. Herein, we report a series of cage-like porous materials named FJI-H8-R (R=Me, Et, n Pr and i Pr) which all have high C2 H2 uptakes at 1 bar and 298 K. Dynamic breakthrough studies show that they all exhibit excellent C2 H2 /CO2 separation performance. Particularly, FJI-H8-Me possesses a long breakthrough time up to 90 min g-1 . Additionally, Grand Canonical Monte Carlo (GCMC) simulation reveals that the suitable pore space and geometry contribute much to the excellent separation performance.
Thrombosis is a known consequence of intraportal islet transplantation, particularly for xenogeneic islets. To define the origins of thrombosis after islet xenotransplantation and relate it to early inflammation, we examined porcine islets transplanted into non-human primates using a dual-transplant model to directly compare islet characteristics.
α1,3-Galactosyltransferase gene-knockout (GTKO) islets with and without expression of the human complement regulatory transgene CD46 (hCD46) were studied. Biologically inert polyethylene microspheres were used to examine the generic pro-thrombotic effects of particle embolization. Immunohistochemistry was performed 1 and 24hours after transplantation.
Xeno-islet transplantation activated both extrinsic and intrinsic coagulation pathways. The intrinsic pathway was also initiated by microsphere embolization, while extrinsic pathway tissue factor (TF) and platelet aggregation were more specific to engrafted islets. hCD46 expression significantly reduced TF, platelet, fibrin, and factor XIIIa accumulation in and around islets but did not alter intrinsic factor activation.
