A high-performance self-standing LiPS host-multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)/cellulose nanofiber (CNF)/NiCo2S4 (3.5 mg cm-2) can catalyze 2.85 mg cm-2 (based on sulfur) loaded LiPS to deliver a high specific capacity of 1154 mAh g-1 at 0.1C and a high rate performance of 963 mAh g-1 at 1C. We suggest that the insulating phase defect of nano-CNF and both highly electronic conductive (above 50 S cm-1) and LiPS adsorptive NiCo2S4 can promote the local concentration effect of LiPS, thus contributing to fast and stable heterogeneous particle-shaped deposition of Li2S2/Li2S and leading to high kinetics of the LiPS cathode.A 26-year-old patient was admitted in our center with one year of infertility history after a miscarriage. She was diagnosed with uterus bicornis unicollis and deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE); therefore, she underwent endometriosis focus removal surgery. After six-months, she conceived spontaneously and delivered one healthy baby. One year after the first pregnancy delivery, she conceived spontaneously and delivered twins in an extremely rare condition of uterus bicornis unicollis, of which there are only 15 cases reported worldwide. Both pregnancies were monitored every two or three weeks using ultrasonography to assess fetal growth, and cervical length was measured to assess the risk of premature delivery.OBJECTIVE To analyze the epidemiological profile of patients treated at the Fertility Outpatient Clinic of a tertiary public hospital in Juiz de Fora. METHODS This cross-sectional study analyzed the medical records of 448 patients who sought fertility treatment at a tertiary public hospital. The data collected from the medical records were used to assess the main causes of infertility, find the most frequently performed procedures, and the cases eligible to therapeutic or prophylactic intervention. RESULTS Of the 448 patients included in the study, 385 (86%) sought fertility consultation, 49 (10%) came in for repeated miscarriages, and 14 (3%) for other reasons. Of the 438 infertile patients, 280 (63.9%) had primary and 158 (36.1%) had secondary infertility. The top-three conditions of the 295 patients with established diagnoses were chronic anovulation (n=98; 33%); tubal factor infertility (n=86; 29%); and male factor infertility (n=59; 20%). CONCLUSIONS Improving care in reproductive health requires a more profound comprehension of the epidemiological profile of patients seeking treatment. There are alternative cost-effective means to contain the development of infertility. Additional expenditure in public healthcare is needed to accommodate the growing number of individuals seeking fertility treatment in Brazil.OBJECTIVE To assess the recovery of thawed blastocysts submitted to quarter laser assisted hatching and examine potential correlations between the procedure and pregnancy rates. METHODS This cross-sectional study included only single-blastocyst transfers performed from July 2017 to December 2018. A total of 765 blastocysts were thawed and immediately submitted to quarter laser assisted hatching in the zona pellucida; they were subsequently incubated for three hours until transfer time, at which time they were examined for collapse or expansion; expanded blastocysts were further evaluated for herniation. The Chi-square test was used in statistical analysis. RESULTS 627 blastocysts expanded (81.9%) and yielded a pregnancy rate of 40% (251/627). 138 blastocysts collapsed after thawing (18.0%) and yielded a pregnancy rate of 25.4% (35/138) (p=0.001). Additional analysis of the subgroup of expanded blastocysts revealed that the 385 herniated blastocysts (61.4%) yielded a pregnancy rate of 43.9% (169/385). The remaining 242 non-herniated blastocysts (38.6%) yielded a pregnancy rate of 33.9% (82/242) (p=0.013). Statistical significance was attributed to events with a p less then 0.05. CONCLUSION Quarter laser assisted hatching is a safe, valid, and relatively easy-to-use procedure for thawed blastocysts. Blastocysts that expanded and herniated after quarter laser assisted hatching presented statistically superior results.Background Because the reliability of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in treating poststroke cognitive impairment has not been convincingly demonstrated, we systematically examined the effectiveness of this regimen with 2 protocols. Methods We randomly allocated 41 patients with poststroke cognitive impairment to receive 5 Hz rTMS (n = 11), intermittent theta burst stimulation (iTBS; n = 15) or sham stimulation (n = 15). Each group received 10 stimulation sessions over the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex. We performed the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS) and the Beck Depression Inventory at baseline and after the intervention. Results The 5 Hz rTMS group showed significantly greater improvement than the sham group in RBANS total score (p = 0.006), attention (p = 0.001) and delayed memory (p less then 0.001). The iTBS group showed significantly greater improvement than the sham group in RBANS total score (p = 0.005) and delayed memory (p = 0.007). The 5 Hz rTMS group exhibited a superior modulating effect in attention compared to the iTBS group (p = 0.016). Patients without comorbid hypertension (p = 0.008) were predisposed to favourable therapeutic outcomes. Limitations Although we included only patients with left hemispheric stroke, heterogeneity associated with cortical and subcortical implications existed. We did not investigate the remote effects of rTMS. Conclusion Our results demonstrated that both 5 Hz rTMS and iTBS were effective for poststroke cognitive impairment in terms of global cognition, attention and memory function; the domain of attention was susceptible to 5 Hz modulation. Treatment with 5 Hz rTMS may slow cognitive decline, representing both a pivotal process in poststroke cognitive impairment and an aspect of neuroplasticity that contributes to disease-modifying strategies.
