- I selected (A) because , just by looking at the answer choices (A) made the most sense towards the question being asked. The author's tone could be humorous , serious , excited ,etc. In this case the tone of the overall tone is humorous . The author uses a pun to create a humorous type of vibe. The author states ; ". The main difference is that dinosaurs had tails, so scientists stuck toilet-plunger-like appendages on some chicken butts to see how the animals would manage." Instead of giving problematic information about this particular subject , the author manages to still give information adding some humor towards his "writing". "The chickens-with-legs-from-dinosaurs-that-were-not-chickens.." With the reader knowing that "chickens with legs coming from dinosaurs, that weren't really chickens" made me hint sarcasm , although it was an informational text. By including this quote the reader can confirm that the tone of the story was humorous .
