Sistemin daha hızlı ve sağlıklı çalışması için üçüncü parti uygulama ve verileri dahili hafıza yerine harici hafızada muhafaza etmek önemli bir stratejidir. Nitekim pek çok akıllı telefonda/tablette sistemin hafızası büyük boyutlarda olmadığı için, yüklenen uygulamalar ve indirilen dosyalarla iyice şişen hafıza sistemin hantallaşmasına sebep olmaktadır.
Yapacağımız birkaç basit işlemle varsayılan hafızayı SD kart yapacağız.
1. Aşama: Öncelikle telefonunuzun/tabletinizin root olması gerekiyor. Bu yazıda Root kavramını açıklamıştık.
2. Aşama: Terminal Emulator adlı uygulamayı cihazınıza yüklemelisiniz. Bu uygulama ile komut yazarak sisteminizi tam manasıyla hakim olursunuz. Sadece bu işlem için değil daha pek çok şey için size lazım olacaktır.

Terminal Emulatör’ü açın. Komut satırına “su” yazarak root izni isteyin (Super User kelimelerinin baş harfinden oluşan bu kodu Linux tabanlı sistemlerle haşır neşir olan arkadaşlar iyi bilirler. )
Root izni sağladıktan sonra komut satırına pm set-install-location 2 bu kodu girin.
