Published by John Wiley & Sons Ltd.The asymmetric polyethersulfone (PES-15 wt.%) mixed matrix membranes were prepared by incorporation of carbon molecular sieve (CMS) with varying concentrations (1, 3, 5 wt.%). Physico-chemical characterization of synthesized membranes was carried out using field emission scanning electron microscope, atomic force microscopy, contact angle, thermogravimetric analysis, zeta potential analyzer, porosity, and mean pore sizes. Performance analysis of synthesized mixed matrix membranes was carried out by varying the operating parameters such as pressure (2-10) bar, feed concentration (100 - 1000) mg. L-1 , cations type (Na+ , Ca2+ , Mg2+ , Sn2+ ). Effect of operating parameters and CMS concentration was investigated on pure water flux (PWF), permeate flux and rejection of membranes. It was found that mixed matrix membrane containing 15 wt% PES with 1 wt% CMS displayed the superior physicochemical characteristics in terms of hydrophilicity (37.9°), surface charge (-13.8 mV), mean pore diameter (6.04 nm) and thermal properties (Tg = 218.5 °C) as well as overall performance. E5C1 membrane showed 1.5 times higher PWF (75.5 L.m-2 .h-1 ) and incremented in rejection for all salts than the nascent membrane. This article is protected by copyright. The impact of findings from this research usually requires knowledge translation activities in the form of faculty development initiatives, such as supervisor workshops. Far rarer, but with greater potential, are research approaches that concurrently seek to understand and change practice through empowering clinicians to refine aspects of their practice. METHODS In this methodological article, we describe video-reflexive ethnography (VRE), a collaborative visual research approach that seeks to capture, illuminate and optimise in situ work and education practices. VRE usually has three phases; initial familiarisation with practice through field observations, followed by video-recording of practice, and lastly reflexive sessions about the edited footage with participants and researchers. We discuss four key principles of VRE 1) exnovation, 2) collaboration, 3) reflexivity and 4) care, drawing on our own experiences as researchers using VRE. DISCUSSION Although VRE has been used to illuminate and understand health professionals' education, its potential for changing clinical education practices has yet to be realised. VRE enables observation of the social and relational interactions in healthcare practice and empowers individual (and group) perspectives to be articulated and analysed. In this way it can capture the difficult-to-access emotional dimensions of clinical practice as well as the procedural and conceptual ones. VRE can prompt fresh perspectives and insights into healthcare education and practice for researchers and clinicians through shared deliberations about how practice might be reimagined and enacted. Consequently, several mechanisms and strategies have evolved to optimize signal-to-noise ratio. Examples to increase detectability are the Lombard effect, an involuntary rise in call amplitude in response to masking ambient noise, which is often associated with other vocal changes such as call frequency and duration, as well as the animals' capability of limiting calling to periods where noise perturbation is absent. Previous studies revealed vocal flexibility and various audio-vocal integration mechanisms in marmoset monkeys. Using acoustic perturbation triggered by vocal behavior, we investigated whether marmosets are capable of exhibiting changes in call structure when perturbing noise starts after call onset or whether such effects only occur if noise perturbation starts prior to call onset. We show that marmosets are capable of rapidly modulating call amplitude and frequency in response to such noise perturbation. Vocalizations swiftly increased call frequency after noise onset indicating a rapid effect of perturbing noise on vocal motor production. Call amplitudes were also affected. Interestingly, however, the marmosets did not exhibit the Lombard effect as previously reported but decreased call intensity in response to noise. Our findings indicate that marmosets possess a general avoidance strategy to call in the presence of ambient noise and suggest that these animals are capable of counteracting a previously thought involuntary audio-vocal mechanism, the Lombard effect. These findings will pave the way to investigate the underlying audio-vocal integration mechanisms explaining these behaviors. PURPOSE We will aim to systematically review and analyze the English-language studies on stigma among A-MDs in the Middle East published between 2000 and 2019. METHOD The Web of Knowledge, Science Direct, PsycINFO and MEDLINE are electronic databases that will be included in this study. Furthermore, the bibliography lists of eligible articles will be manually searched for additional included articles. Descriptive statistics will be represented by mean score and standard deviation for continuous data and number/percentage for categorical data. DISCUSSION This study may act as a resource for future studies attempting to assess and/or reduce stigma among children and adolescents with mental health issues specifically in the Middle East. IMPLICATIONS It is important for health care providers, including nursing professional, to improve their knowledge and vision towards stigma in their community. The outcomes of this study can be a shortcut reaching this information. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
