The flexor carpi radialis brevis (FCRB) is a supernumerary musculotendinous structure of the wrist that has been the focus of some interest in the last decade. While its anatomy is well known, its in vivo function remains unknown as it has never been studied.
Eleven cases of FCRB underwent a multimodal ultrasound consisting of B-mode, color Doppler and shear wave elastography.
A pennate shape was observed in all cases and the mean value of the cross-sectional area was 0.8cm

Flexor hallucis longus (FHL) and flexor digitorum longus (FDL) tendons are frequently used in surgery. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the chiasma plantare formation preoperatively. The development of ultrasonography (US) may help the chiasma plantare formation evaluation. The purpose of this study is to prove the usefulness of the US method using cadavers.
Eleven cases (twenty-two ankles) were obtained from Asian adult cadavers. At first, we evaluated and compared the chiasma plantare formation using US. Later, we evaluated that using the findings after dissection as type A (connection from FHL to FDL of the second toe), type B (connection from FHL to the second and third toes), type C (connection from FHL to the second through fourth toes), or type D (connection from FHL to all lesser toes).
Chiasma plantare formation was classified as types A and B in fifteen and seven ankles, respectively. After dissection, chiasma plantare formation was classified as types A, B, and C in fourteen, six, and two ankles, respectively. Therefore, there was an 86% similarity between the two methods.
Chiasma plantare formation can be reliably and noninvasively evaluated using US. This may be useful for preoperative rehabilitation or surgical procedure planning.

To establish normal reference values for the human Tympanic Ring (TR) during prenatal development, and to describe and interpret its growth dynamics.
Fifty spontaneously aborted human fetuses aged 12-37weeks with normal external characteristics were evaluated. The parameters measured in the TR were the cephalocaudal and dorsoventral axes, total area, thickness, height, and length and angle of the notch of Rivinus (NR). Data were subjected to statistical analysis.
The following values were obtained at the end of fetal development cephalocaudal and dorsoventral axes, 10.03 and 8.3mm, respectively; ratio between the two axes, 120%; total area, 65.63 mm
; height and thickness, 0.88mm and 1.10mm, respectively; and length and angle of the NR, 4.66mm and 26.2 degrees, respectively. There were variations in the length of the dorsoventral axis throughout fetal development that affected all other parameters, except for the cephalocaudal axis. 4Hydroxynonenal There were no sex-based differences in TR size.

To determine whether the blastocyst mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) content is related to the miscarriage rate in patients undergoing single euploid frozen embryo transfer (SEFET).
A total of 355 single euploid frozen embryo transfer cycles were studied retrospectively between April 2017 and December 2018. A trophectoderm biopsy was performed on day 5/6 blastocysts. Post next-generation sequencing (NGS), the mtDNA content was calculated as the ratio of mitochondrial DNA over nuclear DNA, and the association between blastocyst mtDNA content and miscarriage rate was evaluated.
Three hundred fifty-five euploid blastocysts were selected for SEFET in 314 patients with an average age of 33.7 ± 5.6years; 255 were biopsied on day 5 (71.8%) and 100 on day 6 (28.2%). Frozen embryo transfer (FET) was performed either in a hormone replacement therapy (HRT) cycle (71.8%; n = 255) or in a natural cycle (NC) (28.2%; n = 100). A pregnancy rate of 66.2% (235/355) was obtained with clinical pregnancy and miscarriage rates of 52.
