The main objective of this paper was to estimate reference values and define local perceptions of ecosystem services provided by wetlands and overlapping them with spatially explicit socioeconomic and biodiversity indicators. We used the Usumacinta floodplain as an example of a territory where high dependence of rural people on ecosystem services is confronted with development projects that threat the flow of ecosystem services, thus affecting rural people well-being. With a combination of data from remote sensing, global databases of ecosystem service values, local perception of ecosystem services and socioeconomic and biodiversity richness indicators in a spatially explicit framework, we develop a policy-oriented approach for rapid assessment to manage wetlands and maintain people's livelihoods. Regulating and provisioning services are identified as the most relevant ecosystem services in terms of their monetary value and local perceived importance. In a spatially explicit manner, this approach highlights the most valuable wetlands and identifies rural societies that are highly dependent on ecosystem services. Our approach can be replicated elsewhere and could provide valuable information for policymakers to design policies that can contribute to conserve wetland ecosystems where under threat of development. ©2020 Camacho-Valdez et al.Callousness encompasses a lack of guilt, shallow affect, and deficient affiliative tendencies and relates to severe antisocial behavior. Across developmental stages, callousness is associated with abnormalities in emotional processing, including decreased physiological reactivity to emotional faces. The current study recruited an adult participant sample to investigate selective associations of callousness with deficits in behavioral performance and reduced neurophysiological response within a face-processing task. Participants higher in callousness demonstrated decreased reactivity to fearful faces across temporal components of the electrocortical response along with reduced accuracy in identifying fearful faces. Further analyses demonstrated that LPP amplitude alone was related to behavioral response and mediated the association between callousness and impaired recognition of fear faces. These findings clarify the nature of face processing deficits in relation to callousness and have implications for biologically informed interventions to reduce antisocial behavior.There is a critical need for research on clinical features that may influence response to treatment for opioid use disorder (OUD). Given its neurobiology and relevance to opioid use, anhedonia may be one such promising clinical feature. We identified and reviewed 11 studies that measured anhedonia in humans with OUD to characterize the current state of evidence and highlight potential implications for treatment. The majority of studies were cross-sectional, indicating higher anhedonia scores in opioid-dependent samples compared to healthy controls. Rates of participants with clinically significant anhedonia ranged from 21% to 48%. Anhedonia scores were correlated with opioid craving and use, however there are significant knowledge gaps regarding its time course and impact on treatment adherence and outcomes. Participants were 23 children between the ages of 7 and 11 with a history of recent SI and 46 demographically and clinically matched children with no recent SI. Children completed a simple guessing task during which continuous electroencephalography was recorded to isolate the Reward Positivity (ΔRewP) event-related potential, which reflects the difference in neural responses to monetary gains (RewP-gain) versus losses (RewP-loss). In addition to traditional breast cancer prognosis factors such as the tumor size and grade, the axillary lymph node micrometastasis, and biomarkers such as HER2/neu, newly discovered biomarkers have been discovered. Some of these factors are genetic signature in tissue or in peripheral blood. Lipid profil, a simple and accessible biological examination, has been a novel path on the prediction of breast cancer risk of occurrence and recurrence in many studies.
