INDEX was continually measured at each dialysis session in ten patients who underwent the angioplasty for VA monitoring.

INDEX significantly correlated with the mFV (coefficient of correlation value = 0.68,
 < 0.001) and RI (coefficient of correlation value = -0.51,
 < 0.001) of brachial artery. Using the calculated cut-off values, the accuracy of INDEX for the diagnosis of AVF dysfunction ranged from 66% to 82%. INDEX attained the peak just after the angioplasty of culprit lesions and gradually decreased from one patient to another.

These results suggest that vascular sound visualization system can be useful in VA monitoring and surveillance for detecting and predicting the access stenosis.We describe the case of an elderly Japanese female who had experienced diabetic nephropathy since the year 20xx and had been undergoing dialysis treatment while receiving vascular access interventional therapy (VAIVT) for arteriovenous fistula (AVF) occlusion. The patient visited the clinic/hospital in 20xx+10 with the AVF occlusion; emergency VAIVT was performed but blood flow could not be resumed. The patient was not admitted and was treated as an outpatient, and thus a cuff catheter (Split stream catheter SST28 cm, Medcomp) was inserted. An infection developed and was successfully treated with antibiotics. The dialysis treatment continued without issue. One year after the cuff catheter's insertion, the patient was admitted due difficulty breathing. Despite continued dialysis treatment with the catheter, the patient died 15 days post-admission. The removal of the catheter proved to be difficult. An autopsy was approved, and the area around the catheter was examined. The adhesion of the catheter to the right atrium was observed, but no infection was detected in the bloodstream. This case illustrates that dialysis with the use of a cuff catheter can be effective.
Little is known about breastfeeding initiation and duration in the context of postpartum marijuana use and safety beliefs.

(1) To describe characteristics of women who used marijuana postpartum; (2) to evaluate the relationship between postpartum marijuana use and breastfeeding behaviors; and 3) to assess, among women who used marijuana postpartum, how safety perceptions are associated with breastfeeding behaviors.

Data from the cross-sectional Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System, a United States national governmental survey, 2017, were analyzed for participants with infants aged ≥ 12 weeks (seven states, unweighted
= 4604). Pitstop2 Chi-square tests were used to compare characteristics and counseling for postpartum marijuana use. For participants with postpartum use, adjusted prevalence ratios (aPR) were calculated to evaluate relationships between safety perceptions and breastfeeding initiation and duration.

Overall, 5.5% (95% CI [4.6, 6.6]) of participants reported postpartum marijuana use; among these women, 47.2% (CI [37.6, 56.9]) were breastfeeding at the time of the survey. Overall, 25.7% of participants indicated that they had been advised, by their prenatal care provider, against marijuana use while breastfeeding. Breastfeeding initiation or duration did not differ by postpartum marijuana use. Among participants with postpartum use, those who perceived marijuana was safe for breastfeeding women to use were more likely to have breastfed (aPR = 1.22, CI [1.04, 1.43]) and have a breastfeeding duration > 12 weeks (aPR = 1.57, CI [1.08, 2.27]) compared to those who perceived it to be unsafe.

Mother's milk improves outcomes. Referral neonatal intensive care units face unique lactation challenges with maternal-infant separation and maternal pump dependency. Little is known about lactation resource allocation in this high-risk population.

To determine differences in human milk outcomes, (1) the proportion of infants fed exclusive or any mother's milk and (2) recorded number and volume of pumped mothers' milk bottles, between two models of lactation care in a referral neonatal intensive care unit.

This retrospective, longitudinal, two-group comparison study utilized medical record individual feeding data for infants admitted at ≤ Day 7 of age and milk room storage records from reactive and proactive care model time periods (April, 2017-March, 2018; May, 2018-April, 2019). The reactive care model (
= 509 infants, 58% male, median birth weight and gestational age of 37 weeks,) involved International Board Certified Lactation Consultant referral for identified lactation problems; whereas, the primprove mother's milk provision for a high-risk population.
Aromatase inhibitor-induced arthralgia (AIA) is the most common side effect of aromatase inhibitors (AIs) used in breast cancer patients and is related to the rate of adherence to AIs. The clinical effects of acupuncture on AIA have been assessed by some randomized controlled trials (RCTs). However, some studies reported that acupuncture was effective, while others claimed that it was ineffective. To clarify the clinical and placebo effects of acupuncture in treating AIA, we conducted this meta-analysis.

Two reviewers (XL and GW) independently searched for RCTs in 5 English databases (PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Springer, Cochrane Library) and 4 Chinese databases (China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database (CNKI), SinoMed, VIP and Wanfang Database) from their inception to 30 November 2019. Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, this meta-analysis was performed by fixed or random-effects models, and data were pooled with mean differences (MDs).
