Cisplatin is a highly cytotoxic anticarcinogenic drug used to treat several kinds of solid tumors such as liver tumors. With the increase in the incidences associated with hepatic tumors and a lack of selectivity of cisplatin to cancer cells, it is important to explore new therapeutic strategies against them. The present study was designed to verify the ability of gold nanoparticles (GNPs) to improve the hepatotherapeutic effect of cisplatin against DENA-induced hepatic tumors and to declare its ability to reduce the renal toxicity induced by cisplatin. Forty male Wistar rats were divided into two groups (n = 20) Group (A)-negative control and group (B)-model of hepatocellular tumor induction. After 4 months, each group was subdivided into four subgroups as the following Group (1) received normal saline, Group (2) was treated by cisplatin, Group (3) was treated by GNPs, Group (4) was treated by GNPs-cisplatin conjugates. Our results revealed a marked elevation in liver and kidney function tests and oxidant levels with a reduction in antioxidant levels in the DENA-administrated group. Remarkable histopathological alterations in the liver and kidney tissue sections were observed and confirmed by the overexpression of the immunohistochemical staining of placental glutathione S-transferase, Hep Par 1, and proliferating cell nuclear antigen. Noticeable improvements in all the measurable toxicological parameters were recorded in the group treated with either GNPs or GNPs-cisplatin conjugate not observed in the group treated with cisplatin. We can conclude that GNPs not only improve the distribution of cisplatin, targeting it to the site of tumors, but it also reduces the renal toxicity induced by cisplatin, which are the primary concerns in cancer therapy.MXene (e.g., Ti3 C2 ) represents an important class of two-dimensional (2D) materials owing to its unique metallic conductivity and tunable surface chemistry. However, the mainstream synthetic methods rely on the chemical etching of MAX powders (e.g., Ti3 AlC2 ) using hazardous HF or alike, leading to MXene sheets with fluorine termination and poor ambient stability in colloidal dispersions. Here, we demonstrate a fluoride-free, iodine (I2 ) assisted etching route for preparing 2D MXene (Ti3 C2 Tx , T=O, OH) with oxygen-rich terminal groups and intact lattice structure. More than 71 % of sheets are thinner than 5 nm with an average size of 1.8 μm. They present excellent thin-film conductivity of 1250 S cm-1 and great ambient stability in water for at least 2 weeks. 2D MXene sheets with abundant oxygen surface groups are excellent electrode materials for supercapacitors, delivering a high gravimetric capacitance of 293 F g-1 at a scan rate of 1 mV s-1 , superior to those made from fluoride-based etchants ( less then 290 F g-1 at 1 mV s-1 ). Our strategy provides a promising pathway for the facile and sustainable production of highly stable MXene materials.
Overdenture therapy is an important option for implant rehabilitation. However, numerous reports suggest that mechanical/technical complications and failures can limit therapeutic success. The goal of this report is to illustrate a digital approach to design and construction of a robust overdenture with high-esthetic value.

Beginning with new denture design to establish esthetic parameters, 3D modeling of a metal framework and the denture teeth are completed in a connected manner. This enables connection of rapidly printed, prototype dentition that is attached directly to the framework without intervening wax or acrylic components. Following evaluation of the dentition and required adjustments, the final dentition is milled from resin and processed to the selective laser sintered framework.

The advantages of the digital workflow include the control of dimensions and strength of the framework, the esthetic relationship of the framework to the dentition and the facilitation of esthetic try-in of the dentition.

This study aimed to determine the level of health literacy and assess the knowledge of antenatal care among pregnant women. Navitoclax From among all pregnant women who presented to the hospital's obstetric polyclinic during the study's timeline, the study group consisted of 460 women who agreed to take part (492 women were invited and a response rate of 93.5% was achieved). A questionnaire prepared based on the literature in line with the study's objectives was completed by the participants under supervision. The Turkish Health Literacy Scale (THLS-32) was used to assess health literacy. In order to determine the women's prenatal care knowledge levels, a total of 20 knowledge-testing statements prepared using the literature were applied, 14 of which were true and six of which were false. The internal consistency of antenatal information questions during pregnancy was made and the Cronbach alpha coefficient was calculated as 0.77. It was determined that 33.9% of the participants had a sufficient level of health literacy. Health literacy was sufficient in young married women (19 years and less) in their first pregnancy and those who had regular reading habits, participated in healthcare activities and received postpartum care at a family health clinic (p less then 0.05 for each). While the most accurately evaluated statement about antenatal care was 'It is normal to experience nausea/vomiting in the first trimester of pregnancy', the least accurately evaluated statement was 'Over 35% of women incorrectly believed it was normal to gain 20 kg of weight during pregnancy'. It was found that pregnant women with sufficient health literacy had higher levels of knowledge about antenatal care (p less then 0.05). In this study, it was determined that approximately two-thirds of the participants had insufficient health literacy and the women with insufficient health literacy had low levels of knowledge about antenatal care.
