In this review, reasons for the inability to improve care and avoid evolution to colectomy for ASUC are explored and solutions that might lead to a better management of the disease are investigated.
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is the most common injectable dermal filler used for soft-tissue augmentation, and can be removed non-surgically by directly injecting hyaluronidase. In this study, the hyaluronidase-mediated degradation of different types of HA fillers implanted subcutaneously at the back of hairless mice having filler residence time of four days or three months were compared.

Two sites at the back of female hairless mice were subcutaneously implanted with 0.1-mL of one of the seven HA fillers (NLL, NL, NDL, NVL, and ND, JUV
, and RES
) and injected with 30 IU or 60 IU hyaluronidase per 0.1-mL filler after reaching a filler residence time of 4 or 91 days, respectively. Anacardic Acid in vitro Filler bolus projection was measured using three-dimensional optical imaging over a 72 h period, and the implantation sites were histologically examined 2 weeks after hyaluronidase injection.

Following hyaluronidase injection, all seven HA fillers showed a rapid decrease of filler volume within 24 h, and complete degradation was confirmed by histological examination after 2 weeks. There was no significant difference in filler volume reduction rate among the seven HA fillers, and no evidence of macroscopic or microscopic adverse effects were observed at the implantation sites.

Although it is a rare disease, PC-MZL accounts for 20-40% of all primary cutaneous B-cell lymphoma in Western Countries. The aetiology and the pathogenesis of PC-MZL are poorly understood, as it generally lacks the chromosomal translocations most typically present in marginal zone lymphomas of other sites. The diagnosis of PC-MZL may be challenging, due to the rarity of the disease, and needs the competence of different professional figures, including the dermatologist and the pathologist. Furthermore, the management of the patient after the diagnosis is complex and involves the dermatologist, the haematologist, the surgeon, the radiotherapist and the radiologist. The aim of this review is to describe the clinical and histological findings for the diagnosis of PC-MZL, and the state of art for the management of the patient.
Glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) plays a crucial role in the regulation of lipid metabolism via lipoprotein lipase (LPL). GIP receptor antagonist, SKL-14959, suppressed the weight gain in the diet-induced obesity model. However, the mechanism is not unclear. Therefore, we aimed to give insight into the reason.

Mice were divided into three groups of the low-fat diet, high-fat diets mixture with or without SKL-14959 for 151 days, and were monitored body weight and food consumption through the test. Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) and insulin tolerance test (ITT) were also performed. After that, blood, liver, muscle and adipose tissue were collected. Blood samples were measured glycosylated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), glucose, insulin, GIP level and plasma LPL activity. Triacylglycerol (TG) contents of liver and muscles were also measured. Moreover, a simple correlation analysis was performed.

SKL-14959 suppressed the body weight gain, decreased body mass index (BMI), HbA1c, and fasting glucose level, and trended to decline adipose tissues weight and TG contents compared with the vehicle, and inhibited plasma LPL activity. OGTT and ITT in the SKL-14959 group were not significantly changed relative to the vehicle. Additionally, upon treatment with SKL-14959 treatment, weight gain had weak correlation with lipase activity. Furthermore, lipase activity was associated with the fat mass and not white but red muscle TG contents and liver TG contents were not associated with lipase activity but HbA1c.

This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of a novel flash glucose monitoring device combined with the WeChat platform in juvenile type 1 diabetes management.

A total of 60 juvenile patients with type 1 diabetes were randomly assigned into three groups a blood glucose self-monitoring group (group A), a flash glucose monitoring (group B), and a flash glucose monitoring combined WeChat-interactive management group (group C). The intergroup differences in demographics, biochemical indicators, and questionnaire scores of the Diabetes Monitoring and Treatment Satisfaction Questionnaire and Diabetes Specific Quality of Life assessment were compared at the baseline and after 6 months.
