A B1 license permits you to drive vehicles with an maximum mass of 3,500 kilograms (3.5 tonnes), and can accommodate up to eight persons, excluding the drivers. This category covers a wide range of vehicle types including compact hatchbacks, spacious estates and versatile SUVs. It is also possible to tow a trailer of up to 750 pounds with a category C license.
A category A licence permits you to drive two-wheeled motor vehicles, including motorcycles. The old category A1 license is now replaced by the new category of licence, allows you drive light motorcycles up to 125cc with a power to weight ratio up to 11kW. You can drive vehicles that have a Category A license up to 31 mph in design speed, but you'll require a helmet.
If you have a category A driving licence that allows you to drive vehicles with a maximum permissible mass (MAM) which can be up to 12,000 kilograms and can carry up to nine passengers, which includes the driver. If you'd like to be able to drive heavier vehicles, you will have to pass the CPC four-part test.
You must pass both the theory test as well as the practical test in order to get the B1 license. The theory test tests the level of your understanding of the signs on the road, driving laws and dangers. You will also be asked questions on the background of traffic law. A good method to prepare for the test in theory is to take a number of mock tests prior to when you take it. You can master the skills required to pass an actual test by taking a number of mock tests.
This type of license requires passing the theory test and the practical driving test, and a medical test. The test for practicals will involve driving a car on street-like conditions, and the theory test will comprise multiple-choice questions that will be conducted using a certified computer. You must also pass an examination by an authorized doctor. The doctor will examine your vision, blood pressure, and general health. If you're traveling for work, you might need to take a medical test as well.
Vehicles you can't drive with B1 license
A driving license is a legal document that allows you to drive on roads that are open to the public in the nation where you reside, or in many other countries. It is a valuable document that represents a significant investment in terms of both time and money. It isn't easy to obtain. It is recommended to practice a good amount and take as many mock tests as possible prior to the actual test. Tests designed for mock tests are designed to give you a realistic experience of what the theory test is like. You will also be able to understand the driving rules and hazards.
The categories of licences describe the vehicles you can drive, as well as the maximum mass (MAM), of a vehicle. These codes are located on the reverse of the license. They are typically written in lower case, although some licences employ upper-case letters to differentiate between the different categories. Category M, for instance, is a licence that permits the driver to operate two-wheeled motors with engine power less than 50cc.
If you have a category B licence that covers cars, you are allowed to drive four-wheeled vehicles with a maximum weight of 400kg unladen or 550 kg when carrying goods. You can also add a trailer of up to 750kg.
You can't drive a minibus with a category B licence. Instead you need to pass the category C test in order to drive larger vehicles. The category C license is not available to anyone less than 18. You can also take a test in order to obtain the category C1 licence which permits you to drive cars up to 11,000 kilos and smaller trailers. This is a viable option when you want to drive a small truck or van that has trailer.
You could be slapped with severe penalties and fines if you don't hold a licence that allows you to drive certain kinds of vehicles. If you're found driving a vehicle that is not licensed properly and you are fined up a maximum of PS1,000 and be awarded between three and six penalty points.
You can't tow vehicles with a b1 license
If you have a B1 licence, you can only haul a trailer that weighs up to 750 kilograms. This is because the total weight of a vehicle and trailer combination cannot exceed 3.5 tonnes. If you intend to drive a trailer that is heavier than this, then you'll require a category B + E licence. This is costly and requires a state-issued and practical exam.
If your license is B1 Auto, you are able to only tow small vehicles with an automatic gear box like cars or small vans. This licence doesn't permit you to drive a manual vehicle which is why if you want to tow a larger vehicle you'll need to take the driving test. You can also obtain a category B license which allows you to pull the vehicle up to 3,500kg.
If your license is code 96, you can also tow vehicles. This type of license permits you to drive cars with a MAM of up to 3500kg, and tow trailers up to 750kg. The size of the trailer will depend on the date when your BE license was issued.
In the same way you can tow a trailer up to 750kg if your licence is B1 without code 96 or BE. You can tow a trailer that is designed to transport a horse or boat. This type of trailer, also known as a lorry-mounted trailer, is typically attached to a truck or tractor.
The earliest type of driving licence for cars was the class 3 licence, which allowed you to drive a trailer. However, this licence has been changed into the BE licence, which now allows you to drive a trailer up to a a maximum gross vehicle weight (GVM) of 7.5 tonnes.
The B license is a great option for drivers who plan to own their own cars, but are not planning to use them for commercial purposes. The B license is available for commercial or private vehicles that have up to nine seats and allows the driver a tow trailer that weighs up to 750kg.
You can't tow vehicles without a b2 license
The B1 licence is a limited version of the category B driving license. It entitles you to drive cars with up to 400kg (or 500kg if it's intended for carrying goods). This licence does not permit you to drive vans or trucks. However, it permits you to drive small commercial vehicles like light trucks, cargo carriers and trailers. This licence allows you to tow trailers with a maximum GVM of 3.5 tonnes.
You'll need a Category B+E licence if you want to drive heavy vehicles. This license comes with a state exam as well as a practical test which can be expensive. You can also opt for Category B with code96 which permits drivers to drive vehicles that weigh up to 3.5 tonnes. However, you aren't able to tow a trailer with this license if its GVM is higher than the vehicle's.
The categories on your license serve to clarify what types of vehicles you can drive. Certain categories on your license will require you to pass additional tests or obtain qualifications to be able to drive certain types of vehicles. You can ask for the translation of your license if you are not sure what the categories mean.
A B2 licence enables you to drive small passenger cars with nine seats and the body length is less than 6 meters. It also allows you to tow a trailer with an authorized maximum weight of up to 750 kilograms. Other vehicles you can drive with a B2 licence include C1 (small automatic transmission car), C3 (low-speed truck) and C4 (tricycle).
The gold license is a category that recognizes drivers with a clean driving record. They have not been involved in any accidents or moving violations in the last five years. They can avail discounts on car insurance. You must not have had an accident for at least five years and 41 days prior to the day when your driver's license expires. You must also pass both the theory test and the driving test in practice. In addition, you need to take a first-aid training course and a vision test.
