Obtaining Your Driving License A1
A driver's license is a crucial document that officially permits you to drive. Kup prawo jazdy kategorii B bez egzaminu must sign up for a driving school and successfully pass both physical and written exams.
A1 is the first category of driving license that allows you to operate a motor scooter with 125 cc or 11 kW. If you're older than 24, you are able to obtain a category A licence.
Training
The first step in your motorcycle journey is to get your driver's license A1. You must complete a 17-hour introductory course before sitting for your theory test or a practical driving test. You can finish the course at a driver's academy or at a continuing driver training center or through private trainers.
During the training you will be taught the rules of the road and how to safely operate your motorcycle. You will be able to operate your bike and improve your handling skills prior to taking the test. After passing the theory exam you will need to pass the practical A1 test administered by an approved tester. The A1 motorcycle test is split into two parts: a theory test and practical test. Both are administered on the same day.
The theory test is comprised of 20 multiple-choice questions, with only two incorrect answers allowed to earn a passing grade. The theory test is an automated test administered by the testing center. You can prepare for the test by studying the Highway Code. You should also practice answering sample questions before you take the test.
After passing the theory test, you are able to book your practical A1 test. You can prepare for the practical test after you have completed the theory test. This involves familiarizing yourself with the highway code and rehearsing riding maneuvers such as hill starts and lane changing. The test is a combination of Module 1 and Module 2.
Module 1 focuses on off-road manoeuvres. You will be tested to determine whether you are able to perform an uncontrolled U turn and an emergency stop. You will have to execute a variety of controlled road maneuvers such as a figure 8 and an accelerated ride. Then you will need to demonstrate your ability to observe and be aware of road hazards.
After passing your A1 driving test, you are eligible to be upgraded to A2 driving category. However, this is only available if you have maintained your A1 licence for a minimum of two years.
Licensing requirements
If you're a student you might need to complete instruction at a recognized driving school in order to get a license for category A1. You'll also have to pass the theory test and practical test. If you pass both tests, you can apply for a licence through your local council. You'll be charged for this service.
In the category A1 you can only use motor tricycles or mopeds with engines up to 50cc. This includes e-scooters that have been tested and mopeds fitted with a sidecar. You can also drive a vehicle with an unladen mass of up to 400kg or 550kg if it's intended for transporting items.
To obtain a driving license A1, you must be 16 years old and have completed the compulsory basic training (CBT). After that, you'll need to pass the motorcycle theory test as well as the practical test. The theory test measures your understanding of road rules and hazards. The test is based on maneuvering the motorcycle in a figure-of-8 and a series of slow control exercises. You will also be asked to show that you can ride a motorbike with an accompanying person.
The licence of the moment is a laminated plastic card, similar to the European licence cards in appearance and dimensions. The card includes the photo of the driver and his name (in Latin or Cyrillic) along with the date and time of the issue, along with a list of categories. It's fully compatible with Vienna Convention on Road Traffic which means it's valid in all members states and countries. Older booklet-style and credit card licences are still seen occasionally but they're becoming increasingly scarce.
If you're a brand-new driver, you'll have to take two practical tests (private roads and public) before you can get the license. You'll also need to complete skid training and risk-training. You'll also have to take a medical exam by a doctor. Then, you'll need to submit the COSEVI certificate of the successful completion.
