This research sought to answer the question 'what quality criteria do survivorship experts consider to be important in achieving optimal cancer survivorship care?'. An online modified reactive Delphi survey consisting of two rounds was completed with experts including consumers, clinicians, researchers, policymakers and quality and accreditation professionals. Survey items were based on international literature and considered three domains Policy, process and outcome. In round 1 (R1), experts ranked the importance of 68 criteria on a five-point Likert scale. Criteria were retained if scored 4 (important) or 5 (very important) by >75% participants. In round 2 (R2), experts ranked top 10 criteria per domain. Response rates were 79% (70/89) and 84% (76/91), respectively. After R1, six criteria were removed and six were added. From R2, ten items for each domain were retained. These 30 items formed the Quality Framework. A consensus meeting considered priority items from the Quality Framework and feasibility of data collection. Prioritized items included having a policy on survivorship care; the existence of a multidisciplinary survivorship program (policy); appropriate processes to assess survivors' emotional, psychological and physical needs following treatment and stratification to appropriate models of care (process); and collecting patient-reported outcomes, quality of life and survival rates (outcome).
The coronavirus disease in 2019 (COVID-19) heavily hit Italy, one of Europe's most polluted countries. The extent to which PM pollution contributed to COVID-19 diffusion is needing further clarification. We aimed to investigate the particular matter (PM) pollution and its correlation with COVID-19 incidence across four Italian cities Milan, Rome, Naples, and Salerno, during the pre-lockdown and lockdown periods.
We performed a comparative analysis followed by correlation and regression analyses of the daily average PM
, PM
concentrations, and COVID-19 incidence across four cities from 1 January 2020 to 8 April 2020, adjusting for several factors, taking a two-week time lag into account.
Milan had significantly higher average daily PM
and PM
levels than Rome, Naples, and Salerno. Rome, Naples, and Salerno maintained safe PM
levels. The daily PM
levels exceeded the legislative standards in all cities during the entire period. PM
pollution was related to COVID-19 incidence. The PM
levels and sampling rate were strong predictors of COVID-19 incidence during the pre-lockdown period. The PM
levels, population's age, and density strongly predicted COVID-19 incidence during lockdown.
Italy serves as a noteworthy paradigm illustrating that PM
pollution impacts COVID-19 spread. Even in lockdown, PM
levels negatively impacted COVID-19 incidence.
Italy serves as a noteworthy paradigm illustrating that PM2.5 pollution impacts COVID-19 spread. Even in lockdown, PM2.5 levels negatively impacted COVID-19 incidence.Regrind processing poses challenges for single-screw extruders due to the irregularly shaped particles. For grooved feed zones, the output is lessened by the reduction of bulk density in comparison to virgin material. Simultaneously, the melt temperature increases, reducing the extruder's process window. Through experimental investigations on a test stand, a novel feed zone geometry (nominal diameter 35 mm) is developed. It aligns the regrind's specific throughput with that of virgin material. The regrind processing window is essentially increased. As the solids conveying in the novel feed zone cannot be simulated with existing methods, numerical simulations using the discrete element method are performed. Since plastic deformation occurs in the novel feed zone geometry, a new hysteresis contact model is developed. In addition to spheres, the regrind and virgin particles are modeled as superquadrics to better approximate the irregular shape. The new contact model's simulation results show excellent agreement with experimental compression tests. The throughput of the extruder simulations is considerably underestimated when using spheres to represent the real particles than when using irregularly shaped superquadrics. Corresponding advantages can be seen especially for virgin material. This study investigated the antibacterial activity, bond strength to dentin (SBS), and ultra-morphology of the polymer-dentin interface of experimental adhesive systems doped with pyrogallol (PY), which is a ubiquitous phenolic moiety that is present in flavonoids and polyphenols. A universal adhesive containing 4-META and 10-MDP was used in this study. PY behaves as an antioxidant and anti-cancerogenic agent and it was incorporated into the adhesive at different concentrations (0.5 and 1 wt.%). The antibacterial activity and SBS were analyzed and the results were statistically analyzed. The ultra-morphology of the polymer-dentin interface was assessed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). At 24 h, a lower antibacterial activity was observed for the control adhesive compared to those with 0.5% and 1% PY. No difference was seen in SBS between the three groups at 24 h. After 6 months, the SBS of the 0.5% PY adhesive was significantly lower than the other tested adhesives. The specimens created with 1% PY adhesive presented a higher bond strength at six months compared with that found at 24 h. No morphological differences were found at the polymer-dentin interfaces of the tested adhesives. Pyrogallol may be incorporated into modern universal adhesive systems to preserve the polymer-dentin bonding interface and confer a certain degree of antibacterial activity.Physical activity (PA) counseling by health professionals has promising results in behavior change. selleckchem However, few studies have evaluated its prevalence in Primary Health Care in Latin American countries. This study aimed to describe the prevalence and analyze the associated factors of PA counseling in adults in Primary Health Care in Brazil. This is a cross-sectional study with a representative sample of 779 adults (70% women). Counseling was identified among those who reported having received PA counseling during a health professional consultation in the last 12 months. Sociodemographic factors, health conditions, and leisure-time PA were analyzed with Poisson regression. The prevalence of counseling was 43% (95% Confidence Interval [CI] 39.5-46.4%), higher in people aged ≥40 years (Prevalence Ratio [PR] 1.44; 95% CI 1.19-1.75], who are married (PR 1.27; 95% CI 1.07-1.59), obese (PR 1.53; 95% CI 1.23-1.90), take prescription medication (PR 1.83; 95% CI 1.47-2.27), and walk for leisure (PR 1.28; 95% CI 1.06-1.
