Quick capacity loss due to the polysulfide shuttle effects and poor rate performance caused by low conductivity of sulfur have always been obstacles to the commercial application of lithium sulfur batteries. Herein, an in-situ doped hierarchical porous biochar materials with high electron-ion conductivity and adjustable three-dimensional (3D) macro-meso-micropore is prepared successfully. Due to its unique physical structure, the resulting material has a specific surface area of 2124.9 m2 g-1 and a cumulative pore volume of 1.19 cm3 g-1 . The presence of micropores can effectively physically adsorb polysulfides and mesopores ensure the accessibility of lithium ions and active sites and give the porous carbon material a high specific surface area. RTA-408 mouse The large pores provide channels for the storage of electrolyte and the transmission of ions on the surface of the substrate. The combined effect of these three kinds of pores and the N doping formed in-situ can effectively promote the cycle and rate performance of the battery. Therefore, prepared cathode can still reach a reversible discharge capacity of 616 mAh g-1 at a rate of 5 C. After 400 charge-discharge cycles at 1 C, the reversible capacity is maintained at 510.0 mAh g-1 . This new strategy has provided a new approach to the research and industrial-scale production of adjustable hierarchical porous biochar materials.
Soticlestat is a first-in-class selective inhibitor of cholesterol 24-hydroxylase, the enzyme that converts brain cholesterol to 24S-hydroxycholesterol (24HC), a positive allosteric modulator of N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors. Soticlestat is under development as treatment for rare developmental and epileptic encephalopathies.
In this first-in-human study, 48 healthy men and women received single ascending doses of soticlestat oral solution or placebo. Subsequently, nine healthy subjects received soticlestat tablets under fed and fasting conditions to assess the relative oral bioavailability and effects of food. Serial blood and urine samples were collected for pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic assessments.
Soticlestat appeared to be well tolerated up to a single dose of 1350 mg. Adverse events (AEs) were mild in intensity, and dose-dependent increase in AE prevalence was not apparent. Soticlestat administered via oral solution was rapidly absorbed (median time to maximum plasma concentration [C

In support of in vivo findings, in vitro studies showed that direct contact of vascular cells with NMs could induce endothelial cell (EC) activation and promote macrophage foam cell formation, although only limited studies showed that NMs could damage vascular smooth muscle cells and promote their phenotypic switch. It has been proposed that NMs induced adverse vascular effects via different mechanisms, but it is still necessary to understand the upstream events. Kruppel-like factors (KLFs) are a set of C2H2 zinc finger transcription factors (TFs) that can regulate various aspects of vascular biology, but currently, the roles of KLF2 in mediating the adverse vascular effects of NMs have gained little attention by toxicologists. This review summarized current knowledge about the adverse vascular effects of NMs and proposed the potential roles of KLFs in mediating these effects based on available data from toxicological studies as well as the current understanding about KLFs in vascular biology. Finally, the challenges in investigating the role of KLFs in vascular toxicology were also summarized. Considering the important roles of KLFs in vascular biology, further studies are needed to understand the influence of NMs on KLFs and the downstream events.
To evaluate the effects of PMS50 supplementation on psychological symptoms in university students in Iran.
This double-blind clinical trial was conducted at Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences, between December 2018 and March 2019. Fifty female students with moderate to severe premenstrual syndrome (PMS) randomly received either 550mg/day of PMS50 (n=25) or placebo (n=25), starting from 1week before till the end of menstruation for three consecutive menstrual cycles. Anthropometric indices, dietary intake, physical activity level, and severity of PMS were assessed at baseline and post-intervention. Data were analyzed by SPSS (version 22). Independent t test was used to compare the results between groups. Paired t test was used to compare the results within groups before and after study.
There was a significant improvement in psychological symptoms including depression, anger, feeling of hopelessness, desire to be alone, mood swings, irritability, anxiety, and poor concentration observed in the intervention group compared with the control group post-intervention. Restlessness was significantly reduced in both groups post-intervention. The mean scores of low self-esteem, change in appetite, and food cravings were decreased in both groups, but not significant between groups.
PMS50 supplementation may be effective in improvement of psychological symptoms in PMS. Clinical Trial Registration No. IRCT20181218042038N1.

Twenty-eight years later, Vandewiele and Noé proved this inequality for Kolmogorov-Smirnov type goodness of fit tests. We refer to this type of inequality as one-two inequality. In this paper, we generalize their result for one- and two-sided union-intersection tests based on positively associated random variables and processes. Thereby, we give a brief review of different notions of positive association and corresponding results. Moreover, we introduce the notion of one-two dependence and discuss relationships with other dependence concepts. While positive association implies one-two dependence, the reverse implication fails. Last but not least, the Bonferroni inequality and the one-two inequality yield lower and upper bounds for two-sided acceptance/rejection probabilities which differ only slightly for significance levels not too large.
