Older people should brush their teeth twice/day and regularly clean interproximal spaces and oral mucosa. Dentures should be rinsed after meals and cleaned twice/day. The use of denture cleansing tablets was considered necessary. Dentures should be removed before sleeping and stored dry. A 5000ppm fluoride toothpaste should be applied daily in elder with high caries risk. A short report on the oral health status of the elder should be included in the geriatric assessment. All experts concluded that the knowledge and the training in oral health care for caregivers and family members of care-dependent older people were imperative.

Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) in patients with surgically altered anatomy is still challenging. Usefulness of single-balloon enteroscopy (SBE)-assisted ERCP has been increasingly reported. Short SBE is considered beneficial with a 152-cm working length and a 3.2-mm working channel. This has increased the variety of devices that can be used during ERCP procedures. The aim of this pooled analysis was to evaluate the efficacy of SBE-assisted ERCP in patients with surgically altered anatomy and elucidate the current status.

This systematic review only involved biliary interventions which excluded pancreatic cases. Studies involving SBE-assisted ERCP in patients with Roux-en-Y gastrectomy, hepaticojejunostomy with Roux-en-Y, pancreaticoduodenectomy (Whipple or Child procedure), or Billroth II gastrectomy were analyzed. L-SelenoMethionine molecular weight Enteroscopy, biliary cannulation, and procedural success were assessed by pooling data in a random-effect model, according to the degree of heterogeneity, to obtain a proportion with 95% confidence interval (CI). The outcomes observed for conventional and short SBE cases were also reported.

Overall, 1227 SBE-assisted ERCP procedures from 21 studies were included. The pooled enteroscopy, biliary cannulation, and procedural success rates were 86.6% (95% CI, 82.4-90.3%), 90% (95% CI, 87.1-92.5%), and 75.8% (95% CI, 71.0-80.3%), respectively. Adverse events occurred in 6.6% (95% CI, 5.3-8.2%) of the procedures. Although good outcomes were reported for short SBE-assisted ERCP, these should not be directly compared to the outcomes observed for conventional SBE, as they assume different backgrounds and include confounding variables.

Studies have reported associations between health-related quality of life (HRQOL), social support, and mental stress of patients with chronic wound, while the causal relationship is unclear and little is known about the HRQOL of hospitalized them. We therefore investigated the status of HRQOL of hospitalized patients with chronic wound and the causal relationships among social support, mental stress (anxiety and depression) and HRQOL of which.

A cross-sectional survey was conducted and the demographic and disease characteristics, HRQOL, perceived social support and mental stress of 216 hospitalized patients with chronic wound was surveyed through questionnaires collected by face to face interview.

In this study, an ultrahigh-power-density Zn-air fuel cell with robust stability is highlighted. Benefiting from the water-resistance effect of the confined nanopores, the highly active cobalt cluster electrocatalysts reside in specific nanopores and possess stable triple-phase reaction areas, leading to the synergistic optimization of electron conduction, oxygen gas diffusion, and ion transport for electrocatalysis. As a result, the as-established Zn-air fuel cell shows the best stability under high-current-density discharging (>90 h at 100 mA cm-2 ) and superior power density (peak power density >300 mW cm-2 , specific power 500 Wgcat-1 ) compared to most reported non-noble-metal electrocatalysts. The findings will provide new insights in the rational design of electrocatalysts for advanced metal-air fuel cell systems.
