Our study focused on a large population with 1106 patients who underwent radial catheterization shows that a very low rate of RAO (0.99%) can be achieved. These results are correlated with a high attention to patent hemostasis and a close collaboration between the medical and paramedical staff.
Our study focused on a large population with 1106 patients who underwent radial catheterization shows that a very low rate of RAO (0.99%) can be achieved. These results are correlated with a high attention to patent hemostasis and a close collaboration between the medical and paramedical staff.
Pulmonary embolism (PE) endovascular interventions are often approached from an internal jugular or femoral venous access. There are multiple advantages of right basilic vein (RBV) access for both patient and operator, especially in the setting of morbid obesity. We hereby describe the case of a 48-year-old, morbidly obese man who presented with acute respiratory insufficiency and was found to have bilateral submassive subocclusive PE, worse on the right. Alpelisib The right ventricular to left ventricular ratio was 2.1 and troponin was elevated. A 7 Fr sheath was placed in the RBV under ultrasound guidance. Selective bilateral pulmonary arteriography was then performed. A 106 x 12 cm EKOS catheter was placed in the segment of highest thrombotic burden for a 6-hour protocol of catheter-directed ultrasound-facilitated thrombolytic therapy. The patient recovered well on a direct oral anticoagulant and his acute symptoms resolved. Treating massive/submassive PE from a RBV access offers the convenience and safety of supee segment of highest thrombotic burden for a 6-hour protocol of catheter-directed ultrasound-facilitated thrombolytic therapy. The patient recovered well on a direct oral anticoagulant and his acute symptoms resolved. Treating massive/submassive PE from a RBV access offers the convenience and safety of superficial venous access (for patient and operator), better patient comfort, less venous stasis during therapy with ability to ambulate, less potential for bleeding and vascular complications, less potential for operator radiation exposure when compared with the jugular approach, and better operator ergonomics.Unused water in unoccupied buildings can become stagnant, with reductions in temperature and levels of disinfectant resulting in increased microbial growth. We report the closed and complete genome and plasmid of Legionella pneumophila strain AW-13-4 (serogroup 1), which was isolated from a hot water loop system of a large building. We sequenced the coding-complete genome of an avian orthoavulavirus serotype 16 (AOAV-16) isolate recovered from emperor goose (Anser canagicus) feces collected in Alaska. The detection of AOAV-16 in North America and genomic sequencing of the resultant isolate confirms that the geographic distribution of this virus extends beyond Asia. Here, we report the coding-complete genome sequences of six influenza A(H1N1) strains that were detected in Vilnius, Lithuania, among patients exhibiting influenza-like symptoms during the 2009-2010 epidemic season, within national influenza surveillance. Several mutations were found in genes encoding hemagglutinin and neuraminidase, in comparison with the A/California/07/2009 reference strain (GenBank accession numbers NC_026433 and NC_026434).In this paper, we report the draft genome sequence of Streptomyces sp. isolate H28, isolated from sediments of the Meycauayan River in the Philippines. This species exhibits production of melanin as well as the ability to utilize and degrade both high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and low-density polyethylene (LDPE).Here, we report the genomic sequences of five severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) strains obtained from nasopharyngeal samples from five tested coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-infected patients from the Lambayeque region in Peru during early April 2020.We report the genome sequences of 12 recombinant foot-and-mouth disease virus isolates from Vietnam. The recombinant strain has a capsid region from an A/Sea-97 strain and a nonstructural segment from an O/ME-SA/PanAsia strain. The isolates were obtained from two outbreak samples collected in June 2017 and 10 subclinical samples collected between 2017 and 2019.Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) isolates of serotype O157H7 are serious foodborne zoonotic pathogens and prime targets for biocontrol using bacteriophages. We report on the complete genome sequences of 11 novel lytic bacteriophages, representing three viral genera, isolated from cattle in Hungary that target E. coli O157 strains. We report here 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequence analysis of the gut microbiota in three species of deep-sea fish collected from Suruga Bay, Japan. Of the three species, two were dominated by the phylum Proteobacteria (genus Photobacterium), while one was dominated by the phyla Spirochaetes (genus Brevinema) and Tenericutes (unclassified Mycoplasmataceae). We report here the genome sequences of six Vibrio strains isolated from an Atlantic intertidal marine sponge, Ophlitaspongia papilla Genome mining and comparative genomics will assist in deciphering the bioactive potential of the symbiotic microbes and molecular mechanisms of sponge-microbial symbioses. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of a new Pseudomonas saudiphocaensis strain, AGROB56, with lipolytic potential, isolated from a sheep dairy farm in New Zealand. The genome is 3.61 Mbp, with a GC content of 61.1%, and the genome sequence was found closely related to Pseudomonas saudiphocaensis 20 BNT.The shotgun genome sequence of Bacillus mycoides strain U53, a psychrotolerant bacterium that was isolated from soil in Russia, is characterized. The bacterial genome is 5,710,017 bp long and is predicted to have 5,847 genes. The GC content is 35.4%.Sphingobium barthaii KK22T is a high-molecular-weight polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon-degrading soil bacterium that has been investigated in biotransformation, microbial ecology, and DNA damage studies. The complete genome sequence of S. barthaii revealed four closed circular sequences, including two chromosomes, a megaplasmid, and a smaller plasmid, by hybrid assembly using short- and long-read sequencing technologies.
