The GMO Panel concludes that soybean GMB151 is as safe as the conventional counterpart and non-GM soybean reference varieties tested, and no post-market monitoring of food/feed is considered necessary. In the case of accidental release of viable soybean GMB151 seeds into the environment, this would not raise environmental safety concerns. The post-market environmental monitoring plan and reporting intervals are in line with the intended uses of soybean GMB151. The GMO Panel concludes that soybean GMB151 is as safe as its conventional counterpart and the tested non-GM soybean reference varieties with respect to potential effects on human and animal health and the environment.Vaccination against COVID-19, which began at the end of last year, promises to be one of the most passionate societal debates of the beginning of 2021. Should we force the population to vaccinate in the name of the civic duty to protect the most vulnerable among us? Should it still be left to the choice of the free and enlightened citizen, which guarantees the consequences it therefore evokes, in the name of what the Republic has most precious to offer the freedom to choose and the equality of all in front of it? But where should this democratic freedom of action and decisions stop, as long as they must undermine the safety of the life course of some of us? Faced with this pandemic, who should decide who should live with the individuality defended by some or take the risk of peer contamination by refusing vaccination? This would make us lose then and together what we owe to ourselves, but above all what we owe to others the sense of a certain consideration of human vulnerability, and respect for the precious price of life. The philosophy of freedom and the ethics of responsibility will help us to shed a certain humanist light on our individual and collective decisions that today herald the common plan for a shared future that concerns us all.
The current new SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has had a profound impact on medical practice. The objective was to analyse the ethical questions raised by the French ENT community during the first wave of COVID-19 infections.

Four open-ended questions concerning ethical considerations in ENT were sent out in April 2020 (i) difficulties to care for COVID-19 positive patients; (ii) impact of the health crisis on COVID-19 negative patients; (iii) communication within the healthcare teams and with hospital staff; and (iv) management of information by the press, or national ENT societies. A thematic analysis was carried out and crossed with the epidemiological data of each respondent.

Thirty-one responses from 13 different French Departments, including 21 from public institutions and 10 from private practice, median age of 45 and 17 men for 14 women, were analysed. The main ethical considerations concerned the management by ENTs of COVID-19 positive patients, the modification of practices in consultation and in the operating room, the fear of loss of chance for COVID-19 negative patients, the appropriate use of teleconsultations and teleworking and the consequences of fake-news for the population.

In preparation of possible future pandemic outbreaks, key ethical aspects are to adapt patient management to local resources and infection prevalence, and circulate clear institutional guidelines.

Limited evidence exists which details changes in quality of life, shoulder activity level, kinesiophobia, shoulder pain and disability following a first-time traumatic anterior shoulder dislocation (FTASD) in people treated non-operatively. This study had three objectives (1) to examine quality of life, pain, disability and kinesiophobia after an FTASD within 12 weeks, (2) to examine whether these variables were different in people with and without recurrent shoulder instability and (3) to assess how these variables changed over 12 months.

A prospective cohort study was undertaken in people with an FTASD aged between 16 and 40 years. WM-8014 order Measures of quality of life, kinesiophobia, shoulder activity, shoulder pain and disability were recorded within 12 weeks of an FTASD and at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months.

An FTASD negatively impacted quality of life, shoulder pain and function and these variables improved over time. People with recurrent shoulder instability had poorer quality of life 12 months after an FTASD. Across the entire cohort, kinesiophobia did not significantly change across time in people following an FTASD.

Quality of life was significantly affected by an FTASD in people with recurrent shoulder instability. Across the entire cohort of people with an FTASD, kinesiophobia remained elevated in people following an FTASD.

Severe radiocapitellar pathologies represent a unique problem in the pediatric population, as radial head excision can lead to substantial long-term complications. We present a case series of four pediatric patients treated by a novel technique-radial head excision followed by Achilles allograft interposition arthroplasty.

Four children (ages 12-15 years) are described. Their clinical and radiographic outcomes were assessed by a visual analog scale, the Mayo Elbow Performance Score, the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand questionnaire, grip strength, and range of motion.

At a mean follow-up of two years, the average flexion-extension arc of motion improved from 107° to 131°, and the rotation arc improved from 100° to 154°. The average visual analog scale, Mayo Elbow Performance Score, and Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand scores were 2, 92.5, and 11.5, respectively. Two patients required subsequent additional procedures-manipulation under anesthesia and ulnar shortening osteotomy. Proximal migration of the radius was observed in three out of the four patients.

Combined radial head excision and Achilles allograft interposition arthroplasty represents a viable option for the treatment of chronic pediatric radiocapitellar pathologies, with good results in terms of clinical and functional outcomes as well as patient satisfaction in the short-medium term.
