sitioned to contribute to continuous improvement of DXA performance and, in turn, quality of osteoporosis care. Two experiments were conducted to test the hypothesis that the digestibility of gross energy (GE) and nutrients, and concentrations of digestible energy (DE) and metabolizable energy (ME) in two sources of distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) are not different despite different concentrations of fat in the two sources. Cold-fermented DDGS (6.82% fat) and a conventional DDGS (9.54% fat) were used. In experiment 1, 12 growing barrows (initial body weight = 55.2 ± 3.6 kg) that had a T-cannula installed in the distal ileum were allotted to one of three diets and two periods. Two diets contained either cold-fermented or conventional DDGS as the sole source of crude protein (CP) and amino acids (AA). The third diet was an N-free diet that was used to determine the basal endogenous losses of AA from the pigs. ML133 mouse Each experimental period lasted 7 d and ileal digesta were collected on days 6 and 7 of each period. Results demonstrated that values for the standardized ileal digestibility (SID) of CP and most AA weral DDGS that was evaluated in this experiment, but the ATTD of NDF, ADF, and AEE, and ME were greater in conventional DDGS than in cold-fermented DDGS.This systematic review and meta-analysis aim to summarize the effects of maternal undernutrition or overnutrition during pregnancy on fetal weight and morphometric measurements during pregnancy, at birth, and postnatal period in sheep. After completing the search, selection, and data extraction steps, the measure of effect was generated by the individual comparison of each indicator with the average of the control and treated group (undernutrition or overnutrition) using the DerSimonian and Laird method for random effects. Subgroup analyses were also performed for lambing order, litter size, sex, as well as level, timing, and duration of the intervention. Fetal weight during the first third of pregnancy was not affected by maternal undernutrition or overnutrition. On the other hand, undernutrition in the second and last third of gestation reduces the weight of the lamb both during pregnancy, at birth, and during the postnatal period, requiring at least 120 postnatal days to achieve the same weight as its contemporaries in the control treatment. However, this reduction in weight is not accompanied by reductions in morphometric measurements, demonstrating that the animals were lighter, but of equal size. In overnutrition, there is an increase in fetal weight in the second third of gestation. However, in the last third of the gestational period, there are no differences in fetal weight for the multiparous subgroup, but it was reduced in primiparous ewes. There are no effects of overnutrition on birth weight; however, this result is highly heterogeneous. Thus, maternal nutrition of ewe during pregnancy has effects on fetal and postnatal weight, but not on size. Furthermore, the effects of undernutrition are more homogeneous while overnutrition showed heterogeneous responses. An experiment was conducted to test the hypothesis that inclusion of hybrid rye in diets containing corn and soybean meal (SBM) without or with microbial phytase improves the apparent total tract digestibility (ATTD) and the standardized total tract digestibility (STTD) of P because of the intrinsic phytase activity in hybrid rye. Forty-eight growing barrows (initial body weight 39.5 ± 7.7 kg) were allotted to six diets. A basal diet containing corn and SBM; a rye-based diet; and a diet containing corn, SBM, and rye were formulated. Each diet was formulated without and with microbial phytase (500 units/kg of diet) for a total of six diets. Fecal samples were collected for 4 d following a 5-d adaptation period according to the marker-to-marker procedure. Results indicated that no interactions between diets and concentration of phytase were observed for any of the response criteria measured. The ATTD and STTD of P and the ATTD of Ca differed (P less then 0.05) among diets, but regardless of diet, the concentrD of P in corn and SBM.Isoflavonoids are commonly found in leguminous plants. Glycitein is one of the isoflavones produced by soybean. The genes encoding the enzymes in the isoflavone biosynthetic pathway have mostly been identified and characterized. However, the gene(s) for isoflavone O-methyltransferase (IOMT), which catalyzes the last step of glycitein biosynthesis, has not yet been identified. In this study, we conducted multi-omics analyses of fungal-inoculated soybean and indicated that glycitein biosynthesis was induced in response to biotic stress. Moreover, we identified a unique type of IOMT, which participates in glycitein biosynthesis. Soybean seedlings were inoculated with Aspergillus oryzae or Rhizopus oligosporus and sampled daily for 8 d. Multi-omics analyses were conducted using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry and RNA sequencing. Metabolome analysis revealed that glycitein derivatives increased following fungal inoculation. Transcriptome co-expression analysis identified two candidate IOMTs that were co-expressed with the gene encoding flavonoid 6-hydroxylase (F6H), the key enzyme in glycitein biosynthesis. The enzymatic assay of the two IOMTs using respective recombinant proteins showed that one IOMT, named as GmIOMT1, produced glycitein. Unlike other IOMTs, GmIOMT1 belongs to the cation-dependent OMT family and exhibited the highest activity with Zn2+ among cations tested. Moreover, we demonstrated that GmIOMT1 overexpression increased the levels of glycitein derivatives in soybean hairy roots when F6H was co-expressed. These results strongly suggest that GmIOMT1 participates in inducing glycitein biosynthesis in response to biotic stress.
Minimal residual disease (MRD) after induction therapy is one of the strongest prognostic factors in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), and MRD-directed treatment intensification improves survival. Little is known about the effects of inherited genetic variants on inter-patient variability in MRD.

A genome-wide association study (GWAS) was performed on 2,597 children on the Children's Oncology Group (COG) AALL0232 trial for high-risk B-ALL. Association between genotype and end-of-induction MRD levels was evaluated for 863,370 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), adjusting for genetic ancestry and treatment strata. Top variants were further evaluated in a validation cohort of 491 patients from the COG P9905/6 ALL trials. The independent prognostic value of SNPs was determined in multivariable analyses. All statistical tests were two-sided.

In the discovery GWAS, we identified a genome-wide significant association at the GATA3 locus (rs3824662, odds ratio [OR] = 1.58, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.
