We calculated the sum of direct costs of medical consultations, medicines, and unnecessary diagnostic tests. Results Seven "Do Not Do" recommendations were established for headache. In total, 3507 medical records were randomly reviewed. Low-value practices had a highly variable occurrence, depending on the hospital and type of headache. Overall, 34.1% of low-value practices were related to treatment, 21% were related to overuse of imaging in consultation, and 19% were related to emergency care. The estimated cost of low-value practices in the four hospitals was 203,520.47 euros per 1000 patients. In this review, we present the results of the trials concerning the efficacy and safety of iStent for the treatment of open angle glaucoma.We aimed to screen cold-tolerant introgression lines (ILs) of bell pepper and investigate stress responses of these bell peppers under low temperature. Seedlings of cold-resistant wild-type bell pepper CA157, cultivated bell pepper CA52, and their ILs were evaluated for their tolerance to low temperature. Electrical conductivity measurement was performed on ILs and two parents. Then, contents of physiological and biochemical indexes including malondialdehyde (MDA), proline, and soluble sugar content were examined. Moreover, the superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), ascorbate peroxidase (APX), and peroxidase (POD) activities were further investigated. Finally, the chlorophyll fluorescence (PSII) parameters in all pant leaves were examined. A total of 22 IL plants showed better resistance than their recurrent parent CA52. CL122 was one of the most outstanding plants in ILs that had similar performance with wild bell pepper CA157. Cold resistance analysis based on physiological and biochemical indexes showed that factors such as electrical conductivity, MDA, and PSII were closely related to cold resistance among CA157, CA52, and CL122 under low-temperature stress. In conclusion, ILs constructed in the current study might be used for cold resistance gene introgression between wild and cultured species. Moreover, CL122 might be a novel bridge material for understanding low-temperature response in bell pepper. Furthermore, electrical conductivity, MDA, and PSII might be used to identify the low-temperature resistance of bell pepper plants in a period of obvious differentiation.Background and Objectives Canine visceral leishmaniasis affects dogs, the main urban reservoirs, which favor the transmission and expansion of this zoonotic disease in areas with high anthropization process and human density. We investigated the occurence of Leishmania infatum based in molecular diagnosis, and phylogenetic analysis of isolates obtained from dogs in metropolitan region of São Paulo. Methods A total of 201 dogs were tested by parasitological and molecular diagnosis. Phylogenetic analysis based sequences from SSUrDNA and gGAPDH genes were performed. Results The parasitological diagnosis revealed 5% (10/201) of positivity, and the sequences obtained from seven isolates were clustered with L. infantum in phylogentic analysis based on SSUrDNA and gGAPDH genes. A total of 24.9% (50/201) of dogs were positive in molecular diagnosis based on cathepsin L-like marker. Interpretation and Conclusion According to this study, it is necessary to implement a surveillance policy of visceral leishmaniasis, intensifying the actions of diagnosis, prevention, and control of this zoonosis.Introduction The covered endovascular reconstruction of the aortic bifurcation (CERAB) represents a promising technique for the treatment obstructive lesions involving the aortic bifurcation. Gore&Associates, AZ, USA), in the CERAB configuration for the treatment of aorto-iliac obstructive lesions involving the infrarenal aorta and bifurcation. Technical note This technique was adopted in two patients with severe aorto-iliac obstructive lesions. After bilateral iliac recanalization, an 11 mm diameter VBX stent was deployed in the infrarenal aorta; a post-dilatation up to 16 mm with a non-compliant balloon was performed to adapt the proximal edge of the stent to the aortic diameter. Two 8 mm diameter VBX stents were then deployed at the aortic bifurcation in a kissing conformation, overlapping with the previously positioned aortic stent for 15 mm. A post-ballooning with two kissing 12 × 20 mm compliant balloons (Powerflex Pro PTA, Cordis, CA, USA) was performed to adapt the parallel stents to the aortic cuff.
