The Skoda Fabia Key Features
In our test, the 1.2 TSI proved flexible and surprising fun when it came to flinging its way around on twisty roads. It's also very cost-effective.
The Skoda range is increasingly dominated by SUVs which means you'd think there's no room for a light hatchback, but the Fabia still has plenty to offer.
Keyless entry and start
Keyless entry and start are two features that makes it much easier to get into your car. A sensor in the key fob transmits a signal to the antenna in the vehicle when you're within 1.5 meters. The signal indicates the presence of the key and, if everything is in good order, the door will be opened or the engine kicks in.
The Fabia was the first The system is available on a number of Koda models. It is activated by pressing the button on the keyfob, or by placing your hands on the handle. The door opens and the lights inside the car are switched on if they were previously activated. You can also activate the puddle light in your car.
This feature is extremely useful, especially if you park in the dark. But, there are a few things to keep in mind when using this function. If you don't have gloves on you can't unlock the car by using the handle. Also the doors are locked. Koda Fabia do not have any dimples for this reason.
Intelligent automatic locking is another feature. This safety feature can prevent your vehicle from being stolen or vandalized. It is activated by detecting the key in the ignition when it is close to the engine. If this is the scenario the key will transmit a signal to the car's locks, and the door handles will then lock.
In addition to the basic 1.4 TSI petrol engines, which are the basis of most models, the Fabia can also be bought with the more powerful 1.0 TSI engine. This version of Fabia is available with front-wheel drive and four-wheel-drive, and in several trim levels. It is available in hatchback and estate versions, and comes equipped with either manual or auto transmissions.
In the UK, Fabia is offered with a diesel option. This is an 1.9 litre turbocharged direct-injection diesel engine that produces up to 130 PS (96 kW). The Fabia RS, also known as the vRS here in the UK was the first hot car exclusively powered by diesel. skoda octavia replacement key The Keylab was named the Scottish Car of the year in 2003. It's also very affordable due to its lower tax bracket.
Two USB ports
Skoda comes with two USB ports at the rear of the front seats. This is an excellent option for families with multiple devices that need to be charged while on the move. It's ideal for those who have to recharge their smartphones and tablets prior to entering the vehicle.
The Fabia's large interior is impressive, especially considering its diminutive exterior dimensions. It's also smartly-designed with plenty of color and a large infotainment screen. In terms of comfort the front seats are a perfect fit and provide many adjustment options. The rear space is smaller, but still ample for three adults. The rear also includes an ISOFIX point to attach baby seats.
All Fabia models have a range of safety features, such as automatic emergency brakes, lane-keeping aid as well as traffic sign recognition and a driver drowsiness detector. Euro NCAP also awarded it five stars for its crash tests. This is an excellent result, especially when you consider the cost of the car. The Fabia is among the most safe vehicles in its class.
It's an excellent choice when you're looking for a vehicle to be able to drive around the city or town. Its smaller footprint makes it easy to squeeze into tight parking spaces and can fit into narrow streets. It's also easy to park in large cities, thanks to its large doors and short overhang.
Skoda has incorporated some of its "Simply Clever" features into the cabin. These are small touches that might not alter your life, but they do make your car a bit more enjoyable. These include an umbrella that can be placed inside the door on the driver's side, an ice scraper hidden inside the fuel cover and the bootcover that can be turned up to shield the paintwork. The front seats are also equipped with a pocket for maps and a pen loop. There's also dual-zone climate control, cruise control and DAB radio that is standard across the range.
Adaptive cruise control
The cruise control has been a driving companion for many years. It makes long road trips more comfortable and less stressful. While traditional cruise controls only maintain the speed of a certain amount but adaptive cruise controls go a step further and regulate acceleration and braking. This allows for safer driving in even the most hectic traffic conditions.
The adaptive cruise control is a standard feature on many new Skodas. It also comes with a number useful features that make driving enjoyable. The system utilizes sensors to detect the vehicles that are in front of you. It will automatically slow down and stop if necessary and adjust speeds in response to road and traffic conditions. The car also keeps the speed you are driving at and will adapt to changing lanes when the sensor's readings are prompted.
If you enable the feature, an white Adaptive Cruise Control symbol will appear in the display in your cluster (if equipped) or Head-Up Display to let you know that it is active. You can switch between various Adaptive Cruise Control modes by pressing the cruise control mode button on the steering wheel. You can also choose your preferred gap setting from options such as Far Medium, Near, or Far. This option allows the vehicle to adjust its speed according to the speed of the car in front of it. It will display the current gap setting in your head-up Display (if equipped).
Certain systems also utilize GPS mapping to anticipate curves and slow down the vehicle to keep it from exceeding the speed limit. They will then adjust the system once you have passed the bend. Other systems that use traffic-sign recognition are able to adjust your Adaptive Cruise Control speed to match the displayed speed limit.
To maximize the benefits of your cruise control, you must remain active as a driver. To cancel the cruise control, you'll have to press the brake or another key. Additionally the car won't be able to change lanes on its own, so it's important to watch out for drivers in the vicinity and stay vigilant at all times.
Headlights with adaptive headlights
Adaptive headlights use the latest LED matrix technology to adjust illumination modes to suit conditions of driving, ensuring that you always get a clear view of the road. The system automatically switches from city to country to motorway settings based on GPS information provided by your navigation system. This allows you to drive in areas you aren't familiar with especially at night much easier. The system's intelligent sensors can detect rainy or cloudy conditions and activate the rain sensor, which controls the speed of the windshield wipers. It also activates the active cornering light for better visibility on roads with curves.
If your vehicle has adaptive headlights, the control panel mounted on the steering wheel will display a message that instructs you to switch your high beams to low beam to prevent blinding traffic from behind. The system will also notify pedestrians in the vicinity. This feature helps to alleviate fatigue of drivers and improve security on busy, crowded roads.
Another great feature of adaptive headlights is their capacity to point the headlights in the direction of the vehicle is traveling. This characteristic is commonly referred to as curve-adaptive headlights. It makes driving on curved roads safer by illuminating objects that otherwise would be hidden from drivers. According to Highway Loss Data Institute, this can reduce liability claims for property damage by up to 5,8 percent.
The adaptive headlights are able to illuminate the space around the vehicle while it is in a parking spot. This feature is especially useful in parking areas that are crowded, as it allows you to maneuver and reverse the vehicle. It also helps reduce accidents caused by vehicles leaving or entering the vehicle.
The fabia has a wide assortment of safety features that come as standard with six airbags for the driver as well as six Isofix anchors for child seats. It also comes with an array of driver assistance systems, such as Front Assist, which is designed to notify you or even stop the car in the event of an imminent collision. The Fabia key also comes with various intelligent technologies, like Rear Traffic Alert and Auto Light Assist.
