In this study, retentive forces were compared between telescopic crowns (TSC) made with poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) using computer-aided design and manufacturing and type 4 gold alloy using the conventional method. The retentive forces of TSCs were evaluated by performing a pull-out test with primary and secondary crowns. Initial retentive force was approximately 12 N for both PEEK and gold alloy TSCs. The retentive force of PEEK TSC was approximately 6.5 N after 10,000 cycles of insertion and removal. The reduction rate in retentive force was smaller for gold alloy TSC. PEEK TSC displayed greater surface roughness on the primary crown compared to the gold alloy TSC. Surface roughness slightly increased at the cervical margin after repetitive insertion and removal. The retentive force of PEEK TSC was smaller than gold alloy TSC, however the retentive force of PEEK TSC was adequate for stabilizing dental prostheses even after 10,000 cycles.The purpose of this study was to evaluate the air-blowing temperature and water storage time on the micro-tensile bond strength (μTBS) of five universal adhesive systems to dentin. The bond strength with two different air-blowing temperatures (60±2ºC and 23±2ºC) was measured after water storage at 37ºC for 24 h and 100 days respectively. The fracture surface on dentin side was observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM). Three-way ANOVA revealed a significant effect of universal system (p less then 0.001) and air-blowing temperature (p less then 0.001) on bond strength to dentin except water-storage time (p=0.145). The interaction within three factors was significantly different (p less then 0.001). It could be concluded that the μTBS of universal systems to dentin was material-depended. The higher and more stable bonding performance of universal systems on dentin could be achieved by air-blowing at 60±2ºC temperature. In addition, the quantity of voids in the adhesive layer of aceton-based universal adhesive was significantly reduced by higher temperature.
Discrepancies between parents' reports of paternal parenting have been gaining attention, but epidemiological evidence is scarce in Asia. This study aimed to clarify agreement/discrepancy between paternal and maternal recognition of paternal parenting, and the association between actual paternal parenting time and background factors.

Data from couples whose children attended 4-month-child health check-ups in Fukushima City were analyzed (N = 509). Based on paternal recognition of paternal parenting (PRPP) and maternal recognition of paternal support (MRPS), couples were classified into four groups. Each group's paternal household work and parenting time were analyzed. Univariable and multivariable analysis were performed to investigate the association between agreement/discrepancy and background factors of children and parents.

Frequency of positive agreement (PRPP+ and MRPS+) was 83.9%, whereas negative agreement (PRPP- and MRPS-) was 2.6%. Especially, there has been little information regarding the population-based epidemiology of endometriosis. The purpose of this study is to estimate the prevalence and incidence of endometriosis in Korea based on the health insurance claims data.MethodsThis study is a retrospective cohort study using the Korean National Health Insurance Service-National Sample Cohort, which correspond to approximately 1 million Korean populations from 2002 to 2013. Patients aged 15-54 were selected, and the prevalence and incidence of endometriosis were estimated by time and age groups.ResultsThe age-adjusted prevalence rate of endometriosis also increased from 2.12 per 1000 persons (95% confidence interval [CI], 2.01-2.24) in 2002 to 3.56 per 1000 persons (95% CI, 3.40-3.71) in 2013. The average adjusted incidence showed no statistically significant increase. However, the age-specific incidence of the age group 15-19 and 20-24 increased significantly from 0.24 and 1.29 per 1000 persons in 2003 to 2.73 and 2.71 per 1000 persons in 2013 (R2=0.93 and 0.77, P less then 0.001), while the incidence rate of the age group 40-44 and 45-49 decreased from 2.36 and 1.72 per 1000 persons in 2003 to 0.81 and 0.27 per 1000 persons in 2013 (R2=0.83 and 0.89, P less then 0.001).ConclusionThe prevalence and incidence of endometriosis in Korean women were lower than that of previous reports in high-risk population studies. Furthermore, we found a significant increase in the diagnosis of endometriosis in younger age groups.A 74-year-old man presented with abdominal swelling. Computed tomography revealed massive ascites and localized thickening of the small intestinal wall. Enteroscopy showed ulcerative lesions along the circumference of the jejunum. Histological examination showed dense proliferation of large lymphoid atypical cells, and immunohistochemistry showed CD20 and CD10 positivity, CD3 negativity, and Ki67 labeling index >80%. Cytology of the ascitic fluid revealed large lymphoid cells. These findings suggest that small intestine primary diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) caused the ascites. Massive ascites as an initial symptom of primary DLBCL of the jejunum is rare. Herein, we describe this unusual presentation.Mild palmar digital neuropathy may be underestimated because selective nerve conduction studies (NCS) of the palmar digital nerve are challenging. We herein report two cases of palmar digital neuropathy. We performed sensory NCS in each finger using the standard approach. Both cases showed a decrease in the amplitude of sensory nerve action potential (SNAP) in the localized finger. Furthermore, the sensory nerve inching test identified the lesion site. When performing NCS in patients with finger sensory impairment, we recommend recording the SNAP in each finger using standard NCS at the wrist, as well as sensory nerve inching testing.We herein report the first case of foveolar-type gastric adenocarcinoma that developed after the initiation of vonoprazan (VPZ).
