In routine clinical practice, angiogenic factor measurement can facilitate prediction and diagnosis of preeclampsia and other manifestations of placental dysfunction (eg, intrauterine growth restriction).
This real-world data analysis investigated the utility of soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1 and placental growth factor for preeclampsia and placental dysfunction.
Blood serum soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1 and placental growth factor were measured using Elecsys soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1 and placental growth factor immunoassays (cobas e analyzer; Roche Diagnostics). Overall, 283 unselected singleton pregnancies with ≥1 determination of soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1-to-placental growth factor ratio were included. Distribution of the ratio at admission was normal (<38 [58.7%]), intermediate (38-85/110 [19.1%]), or pathologic (>85/110 [22.3%]). Overall, 15.5% had preeclampsia or hemolysis, elevated liver enzyme levels, and low platelet count, and 15.5% of women had intrauterine grclinical utility of the soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1-to-placental growth factor ratio in placental dysfunction.

The BFI-Fr is an effective tool to assess the five dimensions of the five-factor model of personality. The psychometric qualities are excellent in several validation studies. However, because the inconsistency of certain items may be due to a lack of invariance between groups, we examined this invariance according to the gender and activity of the respondents.
The sample consists of 1904 participants (1232 women and 672 men; 1159 students and 745 professionals). Recruitment was done by "snowball" from different studies conducted over four years. Respondents completed the BFI-Fr. The 45 items were corrected for the acquiescence bias. The Item Response Theory methodology was used to test the invariance using the differential item functioning (DIF) test. The T scores were subject to ANCOVA and correlations to compare the differences between subgroups.
Whatever the subsample, we found the same five-factor structure (similarities were especially high for C). The cumulative explained variances are comparable ior control of the invariance of item functioning in order to ensure that the intergroup differences in E-A-C-N-O mean scores do not reflect a psychometric artifact but genuine personality differences.

To determine the prevalence of anxiety and depression in a national sample of young physicians and their associated factors.
The study is a cross-sectional observational epidemiological national study. An online anonymous questionnaire was administered to the young physicians of all French medical faculties. Anxiety and depression were assessed with the Hamilton Anxiety & Depression scale subscores for anxiety and depression. Psychotropic drug consumption, psychotherapy follow-up and other variables were self-declared.
Of the 2003 study participants, 32.3% reported a current anxiety disorder and 8.7% a current major depressive disorder according to their HAD scores and less than one on five of them was followed-up in psychotherapy or treated by antidepressant. Moral harassment, a bad quality of initial formation regarding dealing with disease and alcohol consumption were all associated with respectively anxiety disorder and major depression in multion and treatment of psychiatric disorders should be improved in this population. Identifying a novel biomarker may contribute to detection of vulnerable plaque in patients with non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS). The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between serum platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) and vulnerable plaque in patients with moderate and low risk of NSTE-ACS.
A total of 65 moderate- and low-risk NSTE-ACS patients with 50-90% coronary stenosis were divided into a vulnerable plaque group (n=46) and a stable plaque group (n=19) according to intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) examinations. CB1954 solubility dmso Total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and serum PDGF were measured. Plaque characteristics and components were analyzed using gray-scale and iMap-IVUS. Correlation was performed between plaque characteristics and ACS markers. Logistic regression analysis was applied to determine risk factors. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the predictive value.
Patients with vulnerable plaque had visible higher levels of TG, LDL-C and PDGF (P < 0.05). There were significant differences in minimal lumen area (MLA), plaque area, plaque burden, fibrotic (FI), clipidic (LI) and necrotic core (NC) between the two groups (P < 0.05). PDGF was weakly correlated with plaque burden (R=0.428, P < 0.05), as well as moderately correlated with NC (R=0.669, P < 0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that serum PDGF (OR 4.751, [95% CI 1.534-9.543], P=0.05) was an independent risk factor of vulnerable plaque. The area under the curve (AUC) was 0.876 (95% CI 0.804-0.948, P=0.001).
Serum PDGF could potentially predict vulnerable plaque in moderate and low risk of NSTE-ACS patients.
