Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is a highly fatal disease, but its treatment has remained relatively unchanged for decades. Randomized clinical trials evaluating radiation therapy (RT) dosing and fractionation have yielded mixed results on overall survival (OS).
We identified 2261 patients with limited-stage (LS) SCLC undergoing definitive RT at 1.5, 1.8, and 2.0 Gy dose per fraction, concurrently with chemotherapy, between 2004 and 2015 within the National Cancer Database. Overall survival (OS) was evaluated using the Kaplan-Meier method, and Cox proportional hazards regression was used to investigate whether there was any survival difference among patients who received hyperfractionated, twice-daily RT at 1.5 Gy per fraction (HF1.5) and once-daily, standard fractionation RT at 1.8 Gy (SF1.8) or 2.0 Gy (SF2.0) per fraction. Subgroup analyses by age, sex, race, time to RT, facility type, and Charlson comorbidity index were also performed.
All stage median OS rates for HF1.5, SF1.8, and SF2.0 Gy groups weretained statistical significance 3 years postdiagnosis.
Analyses of real-world treatment outcome data showed that receiving hyperfractionated, twice-daily RT was associated with improved survival among patients with LS-SCLC compared with standard, once-daily fractionation regimens at 1 year after diagnosis, particularly for subsets of patients. Some associations retained statistical significance 3 years postdiagnosis.
Our purpose was to identify patients with cancer who do not receive guideline-concordant multimodality treatment and to identify factors that are associated with nonreceipt of guideline-concordant multimodality treatment.
Five cancers for which the multimodal guideline-concordant treatment (with surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy) is clearly defined in national guidelines were selected from the National Cancer Database (1) nonmetastatic anal cancer, (2) locally advanced cervical cancer, (3) nonmetastatic nasopharynx cancer, (4) locally advanced rectal cancer, and (5) locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer. Multivariable logistic regression was used to determine the odds ratios (with 95% confidence intervals) of receiving the guideline-concordant treatment versus not, adjusting for common confounding variables.
178,005 patients with cancer were included 32,214 anal, 54,485 rectal, 13,179 cervical, 5061 nasopharyngeal, and 73,066 lung. Overall, 162,514 (91%) received guideline-concordant treatment and 15,491 (9%) did not. Twenty-one percent of patients with cervical cancer, 10% of patients with rectal cancer, 7% of patients with lung cancer, 5% of patients with anal cancer, and 3% of patients with nasopharynx cancer did not receive guideline-concordant treatment. In general, patients who were older, with comorbid conditions, and who were evaluated at low-volume facilities (odds ratios > 1 with
< .05) were less likely to receive guideline-concordant treatment.

Suicide is one of the leading causes of death globally, accounting for about 800,000 deaths annually. The suicide burden drastically increased since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. In Uganda, no known study has determined the suicide rate since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
To determine the suicide mortality rate and describe the characteristics of victims of suicide attempts from January to December 2020 in south western Uganda.
This study was based on the health management information systems (HMIS) of patients' registered data for the year 2020 at 15 selected primary health care facilities in four districts in south-western Uganda. We used a data extraction tool to capture demographic and clinical characteristics of the individuals who had attempted or completed suicide. We estimated yearly incidence rates of fatal and non-fatal suicide attempts, and used chi-square and
-test to determine the statistical difference between suicide attempt outcomes.
A total of 130 non-fatal suiciic. With suicide by poisoning being common, there is need for proactive interventions, such as the control of pesticides and herbicides, to prevent suicide among members of this community, especially during pandemic conditions.

This research assessed basic public health services efficiency of 54 districts (representing urban) and 83 counties (representing rural) in Shandong, China, from 2014 to 2019. The data were obtained from Medical Management Service Center of Shandong Health Commission and Statistical Yearbooks. Input variables were subsidy funds, public health staffs and material expenditures. Output variables were assessment indicators covered all service contents from national standard. The data envelopment analysis and panel tobit regression were used to measure efficiency scores and efficiency influencing factors.

Tattoos and piercings, which were once considered taboo, are now widespread like an epidemic, among people of all ages and gender. The rising demand for such body alterations has given rise to a large number of infective complications. This study was, therefore, designed to assess the infection control knowledge, attitudes, and practices of body modification artists in Ethiopia, 2021.
An anonymous observational cross-sectional study was conducted in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from May 25 to June 22, 2021. The data collection instrument was a structured questionnaire that covered the participants' socio-demographic characteristics, knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to infection control. On the whole, 172 tattoo and body piercing artists participated in the study. SPSS v.20 software was used for data entry and analysis. Pearson's correlation test,
-test, Tukey's test, and multiple linear regression analysis were conducted during the data analysis.

This is the first study in Ethiopia to examine tattooists' and body piercers' infection control knowledge, attitude, and practice. Minimum standards for infection control in inking and piercing establishments are necessary. It is therefore important that local authorities and public health professionals work towards laying down the minimum code of practice for infection control in inking and piercing establishments.
The association between coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and Kawasaki disease (KD) remains controversial. Prior to the nationwide epidemic of COVID-19, there was a unique, large-scale, regional outbreak in Daegu and Gyeonsangbuk-do (DG) in Korea in the spring of 2020. We evaluated the impact of COVID-19 on KD by comparing the characteristics of KD incidence between epidemic and non-epidemic regions in Korea.
We analyzed nationwide Health Insurance Review and Assessment (HIRA) data to estimate KD incidence from February 2019 to July 2020. Patients below 18 years who were admitted with KD and administered both intravenous immunoglobulin and aspirin (ICD-10 code M303 for KD) were included in the study. We compared the incidence of KD in DG and other regions by analyzing the period-specific incidence from February to May before and after the COVID-19 era.
A total of 4461 patients were identified to have KD nationwide from February 2019 to July 2020. The nationwide incidence of KD was significantly reduceoutbreak occurred. A larger study is necessary to determine the correlation between KD in this age group and the COVID-19 outbreak.This study is a metrological investigation of eight superconducting gravimeters that have operated in the Strasbourg gravimetric Observatory. These superconducting gravimeters include an older compact C026 model, a new observatory type iOSG23 and six iGravs (6, 15, 29, 30, 31, 32). We first compare the amplitude calibration of the meters using measurements from FG5 #206 absolute gravimeter (AG). In a next step we compute the amplitude calibration of all the meters by time regression with respect to iOSG23 itself carefully calibrated by numerous AG experiments. The relative calibration values are much more precise than absolute calibration for each instrument and strongly reduce any tidal residual signal. We also compare the time lags of the various instruments with respect to iOSG23, either by time cross-correlation or tidal analysis for the longest records (about 1 year). The instrumental drift behavior of the iGravs and iOSG23 is then investigated and we examine the relationships observed between gravity and body temperature measurements. Finally, we compare the noise levels of all the instruments. A three-channel correlation analysis is used to separate the incoherent (instrumental) noise from the coherent (ambient) noise. The self-noise is then compared to a model of thermal noise (Brownian motion) using the known instrumental parameters of the damped harmonic oscillator. The self-noise of iGrav instruments is well-explained by the thermal noise model at seismic frequencies (between 10-3 and 10-2 Hz). As expected, the self-noise of iOSG23 with a heavier sphere is also lower than that of iGravs at such frequencies.The massive global consumption and discarded face masks drove by the ongoing spread of COVID-19. Meantime, incineration and landfill discarded face masks would result in severe environmental pollution and infectious hazards. Herein a suggestion to recycle polypropylene waste masks into CNTs by an environmentally friendly and high-added value disposal process was proposed, and which was prepared as supercapacitor electrode materials for energy storage attempting. The CNTs were prepared from waste masks by catalysis pyrolysis with Ni-Fe bimetallic catalysts. Especially, the bamboo-like structure CNT was obtained with Ni/Fe molar ratio is 3. This structure owned a high specific capacitance compared to other standard CNTs. Its specific capacitance could reach 56.04 F/g (1 A/g) and has excellent cycling stability with a capacitance retention rate of the material is 85.41% after 10,000 cycles. Besides, the assembled capacitor possesses a good energy density of 4.78 Wh/kg at a power density of 900 W/kg. Thus, this work provides a sustainable and cost-effective strategy for disposing waste masks into high-valuable CNT, and their potential application for supercapacitors was also studied and exploited.
