In this paper, we consider a stochastically forced producer-grazer model and study the phenomena of noise-induced state switching between two stochastic attractors in the bistable zone. In addition, by applying the stochastic sensitivity function technique, we construct the confidence ellipse and confidence band to find the configurational arrangement of equilibria and a limit cycle, respectively.A fluorescent aptasensor for Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is designed, which takes advantage of strand displacement amplification (SDA) technology and unique self-assembled DNA hexagonal structure. In the presence of S. aureus, a partially complementary strand of S. aureus aptamer (cDNA) is competitively released from cDNA/aptamer duplex immobilized on magnetic beads due to the affinity of the aptamer for S. aureus. The addition of primer starts the SDA reaction. With the catalysis of Bsm DNA polymerase and Nb.bpu10I endonuclease, a large number of single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) is produced, which induces the opening of a hairpin probe and the subsequent self-assembly to form a hexagonal structure. The staining of the DNA hexagon with SYBR Green I excites the fluorescence signal, which is used for detection. The aptasensor exhibits a broad linear range from 7 to 7 × 107 CFU/mL, with a detection limit of 1.7 CFU/mL for S. aureus. The sensor shows negligible responses to other bacteria. Moreover, the aptasensor has been applied to detect S. aureus in milk samples, and the results demonstrate the general applicability of the sensor and its prospect in systematic detection of S. buy AP26113 aureus in food safety control and medicine-related fields. Here, we have developed a solid-phase competition ELISA (SPCE) method based on virus-like particles (VLPs) of FMDV serotype A. The use of VLPs in the SPCE assay as a replacement for inactivated FMDV provides a high level of biosafety. The SPCE showed high concordance rates when compared with the virus neutralization test and liquid-phase blocking ELISA for testing clinical serum samples and successive serological monitoring (kappa = 0.925). Thus, this SPCE is an alternative method for post-immunization detection of antibodies against FMDV serotype A, with high specificity and sensitivity.BACKGROUND Despite the liberalization of the Therapeutic Products Advertising Act, advertising that praises, misleads or compares is still contrary to the German professional conduct. In view of the increasing commitment of financial investors and the economization in ophthalmology, this study was initiated to examine and check which (advertising) statements are affected in openly accessible videos on the YouTube platform. METHODS Using the search terms "ophthalmologist" and "eye center" as well as predefined criteria (German origin, audio track with spoken text, duration >1 min), videos were identified and transcribed into an anonymized text version. Using a self-developed predefined questionnaire, the individual statements were then subjected to a critical review by three experts and clarity, relevance and completeness of the information were also assessed. At the same time, laypersons were asked how convincingly, comprehensibly and completely they assessed the information and whether they would want to be nd moral requirements for advertising statements. Therefore, there may be negative effects on the professional image in the public eye and opportunities for health promotion remain unused.BACKGROUND In microinvasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) the CyPass microstent (Alcon Inc.) was implanted in the suprachoroidal space to increase the uveoscleral outflow, thereby lowering the intraocular pressure. Due to the excessive loss of corneal endothelial cells, the implant was withdrawn from the global market in August 2018. METHODS A loss of corneal endothelial cells was observed in 6 patients (8 eyes in total) with early to moderate primary open-angle glaucoma 3 years after CyPass implantation. One eye developed a bullous keratopathy. In all patients an implant migration in the anterior chamber compared to the original postoperative position was detected, with more than one ring of the CyPass implant being visible in the anterior chamber. RESULTS In all eight cases the CyPass implant was removed. The local therapy with cortisone eye drops in combination with a 5% sodium chloride solution did not improve chronic corneal edema in one patient. Therefore, a Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) was performed with postoperative improvement of visual acuity. CONCLUSION In patients with more than one visible ring of the CyPass implant in the anterior chamber and subsequent localized loss of corneal endothelial cells, CyPass trimming or removal is recommended to avoid the progression of generalized corneal endothelial cell reduction and the onset of refractory, chronic corneal edema.OBJECTIVE This study aimed to investigate the association between shift work, and burnout and distress, and differences by degree of satisfaction with shift schedule and its impact on private life. METHODS Population 4275 non-shift factory workers and 3523 rotating 5-shift workers. Workers participated between 2009 and 2016 one to three times in the companies' periodical occupational health checks. Burnout was measured using the distance, exhaustion and competence subscales of the Dutch Maslach Burnout Inventory and distress by the subscale of the Four-Dimensional Symptom Questionnaire (scale 0-100). Multiple-adjusted linear mixed models were used to assess between- and within-subject associations between shift work and outcomes, and differences by age, years of shift work, and satisfaction with and impact of shift schedule. RESULTS Shift work was significantly associated with lower scores on burnout distance (B - 1.0, 95% - 1.8 to 0.3), and among those aged  less then  48 years with burnout exhaustion (range B - 1.
