The median GWR of patients with good and poor outcomes in either aspect of survival or neurological function did not show significant difference. The area under the plotted receiver of characteristic curves of each GWR also did not show satisfactory predictive performance.
The use of GWR for outcome prognosis of patients in emergency department whom progressed to circulatory failure did not show promising result.

Acute inflammation in the brain after trauma is mediated by acute inflammatory cells (neutrophils) that contributes to ischemic brain damage, neurological deterioration, and poor outcome. Migration of neutrophils to brain is mediated by intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1). The aim was to determine an association between neutrophils counts, ICAM-1 level and mutation in ICAM-1 gene with injury severity and patient's outcome.
Cross-sectional study was conducted for ninety Sudanese patients presented with traumatic cerebral hemorrhagic contusion to the National Center for Neurological Sciences, Khartoum, Sudan from December 2015 to January 2018. Non-Sudanese patients, and hemorrhagic contusion associated with other type of brain bleeding were excluded in this study. Moreover, 90 apparently healthy individuals were participated as control
Most patients were males (93.3%), their ages ranged from 25 to 44 years, 11.1% of the patients had severe brain injury, 22.2% had brain edema and the mortality ratAM-1 constitutes important markers for injury severity and patient's outcome.
Mutation in ICAM-1 gene and increased levels of leukocytes, neutrophils and ICAM-1 constitutes important markers for injury severity and patient's outcome. The aim of the study was to perform a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) to investigate the psychometric properties of the proxy version of Kidscreen-27 in order to determine whether the instrument can be used to assess health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in young children (five to six years of age). Furthermore, we aimed to examine the relationships between the HRQoL dimensions and the body mass index (BMI), physical activity (PA), age, and gender. Altogether, 276 children from schools in eastern Norway were included (September 2016). HRQoL was measured using the Kidscreen-27 proxy version. CFA was conducted to examine the factorial validity of the five-dimension instrument. Structural equation modelling was used to estimate the relationship between the independent variables and the HRQoL subscales that showed an acceptable fit; physical well-being, social support and peers, and school environment. PA was positively, and BMI negatively associated with physical well-being (p less then 0.5). Parents of the youngest children reported more negatively on the school environment subscale (p less then 0.5). The full 27-item proxy version of Kidscreen should be used with caution for children as young as five to six years as two of the subscales were found to have unsatisfactory factor loadings. The physical well-being, the social support and peers, and the school environment subscales can provide valid and valuable data for research and practice. Even though the associations are small, it is worrying that adverse relationships between PA and BMI and physical well-being are detectable in such a young sample as included here.Over the past decade in the US there have been marked pivotal changes in the policy and retail environment regarding cannabinoids, particularly cannabidiol (CBD) and delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Many vape shops may carry products relevant to these two markets. This study interviewed vape shop owners/managers to assess their perceptions of consumer interests/behaviors regarding CBD and THC and of the impact of legalized marijuana retail on vape shops. The current study involved phone-based semi-structured interviews of 45 vape shop owners/managers in six metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs; Atlanta, Boston, Minneapolis, Oklahoma City, San Diego, and Seattle) during Summer 2018. Overall, 82.2% of participants were male, 77.8% were non-Hispanic White, 64.4% were managers, 8.9% reported past 30-day smoking, and 95.6% reported past 30-day vaping. SGCCBP30 Overall, 44.4% sold e-liquids containing CBD. Vape shop owners/managers indicated minimal perceived risk and some beliefs in therapeutic benefits of CBD products; however, there was a broader range of perspectives regarding marijuana retail and selling marijuana for recreational use. Some chose to distance themselves from marijuana products, their use, and the possibility of entering marijuana retail if it were to evolve in their state, while some indicated high levels of enthusiasm for the growing retail marijuana market. Future research should examine how vape shops and other retailers of CBD and marijuana communicate with consumers about products and modes of using such products, as well as how various industry sectors (e.g., vape shops) adapt or evolve with increasing regulation of nicotine and increasing legalization of marijuana retail.Unhealthy dietary behaviors in adolescence are an important public health problem. Gender differences in dietary behaviors have already appeared during adolescence. However, few studies have assessed a variety of adolescent dietary behaviors in Japan. We aimed to clarify gender differences in unhealthy dietary behaviors among Japanese adolescents. The participants consisted of 84,988 participants from seventh to 12th grades. Unhealthy dietary behaviors were defined according to the National Health and Nutrition Survey. Multivariable logistic regression was used to analyze a nationally representative sample of Japanese adolescents from the 2014 to 2015 Lifestyle Survey. The effective response rate was 51.4%. The prevalence of unhealthy dietary behaviors (skipping breakfast, snacking, eating out, skipping meals, eating alone at dinner, and subjectively poor diet quality) among boys and girls was 14.2% versus 12.4%, 19.6% versus 14.1%, 10.6% versus 7.0%, 7.9% versus 5.6%, 13.3% versus 12.1%, and 12.3% versus 15.
