Clinical relevance involving T follicular assistant cells inside systemic lupus erythematosus.
Six lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and four yeast strains were isolated from Pyeongchang spontaneous sourdough. read more In combination with the segregated Saccharomycopsis fibuligera and Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Pediococcus pentosaceus was employed for sourdough bread starters because of its antifungal action against Aspergillus flavus. The sourdough bread fermented with P. pentosaceus and S. cerevisiae displayed 56.4% ± 5.5% antifungal movement counter to A. flavus expansion at 96 h. The concentration of lactic and acetic acids in the sourdough bread was 4.5- and 1.6-folds above the control bread, respectively, contributing to the balanced sensory properties with a fermentation quotient (FQ) of 2.08-2.86. SPME- GC/MS newly distinguished twenty-two volatile compounds including six aldehydes, five alcohols, one phenol, three ketones, one acid, and six esters. The results suggest the P. pentosaceus and S. cerevisiae combination as promising sourdough starters for making enhanced quality bread free of preservatives.
In recent years, interprofessional education has been described as an opportunity for all healthcare professionals to enhance nursing quality by learning together and about one another. Determining perceptions and readiness of nurses regarding interprofessional education is important for effective education planning.

The aim of the study is to determine readiness for interprofessional learning and perceptions of interdisciplinary education of nursing students.

Descriptive and cross-sectional study.

Nursing departments of public universities, in three different cities in Turkey.

This study was conducted with 738 third- and fourth-year nursing students. The data of the study was collected using "Student Information Form", "Readiness for Inter-professional Learning Scale (RIPLS)", and "Interdisciplinary Education Perception Scale (IEPS)". The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, Student's t-test, Kruskal-Wallis test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and correlation.

Mean age of the st between readiness of inter-professional education, and perceptions of the students.
Nursing students in three different cities had good readiness levels for interprofessional education and perception levels of interdisciplinary education, and differed according to certain demographical qualities. In addition, there was a positive relationship between readiness of inter-professional education, and perceptions of the students.
Nursing students are expected to develop communication and relational skills during their undergraduate education, and the literature on art-based methods for teaching these skills is growing. Art-based education seems to be a promising method for teaching relational skills, especially embodied and performing arts. Dance Movement Therapy has been used previously to learn relational skills, but never in undergraduate nursing students.

To describe how first-year undergraduate nursing students experienced the learning of communication and relational skills through a Dance Movement Therapy workshop.

First-year undergraduate nursing students who completed a two-session Dance Movement Therapy workshop.

This study utilised a Qualitative Description design. Data were gathered from students' reflective journals (n=226 journals, 113 students) and analysed with a thematic analysis approach.

Three themes were identified learning happens through the experience of competences, learning happens through corporealit learn communication and relational skills. Most of the relational skills and non-verbal communication components were explored and strengthened during the workshop. Students were also able to create links between theoretical concepts and nursing practice. Nurse educators may want to consider using Dance Movement Therapy to teach communication and relational skills.
Clinical decision making is an integral part of what nurses do, yet little is known about how students learn how to make clinical decisions or about the nature of the clinical decisions they make-whether intuitive or analytical. This multischool, multistate embedded mixed methods study was conducted to better understand these phenomena within the context of Hammond's Cognitive Continuum Theory. The content for this manuscript was taken from the primary author's dissertation.

Students (N=168) completed the NDMI-Revised 2014; followed by focus groups.

Three quarters of the participants (n=127) scored in the quasi-rational range of clinical decision making indicating they are flexible making decisions dependent on the situation. Six themes described how students made clinical decisions.

Participants were flexible decision makers who used the help of others, lessons learned, the wisdom of nurses, experience, the situation at hand, and systematic cognitive processing to make clinical decisions.

An effort was taken in this on-site study to improve the surface water quality of a eutrophic lake, which has been under a swimming advisory for many years. A floating filtration unit with non-woven geotextiles as a sole filter media was tested for removing algae, nutrients, and suspended solids from overlying water under different lake conditions. Three non-woven geotextiles of different pore sizes were examined in different combinations and lake water quality was monitored for different physico-chemical, biological parameters. A YSI-EXO2 multiparameter probe was used for continuous online water quality monitoring during filtration. Depending on the initial water quality, excellent removal efficiency was observed as follows 85-98% turbidity, 98-100% total suspended solids (TSS), 57-88% total phosphorus (TP), 33-66% chemical oxygen demand (COD) and 80-96% chlorophyll a (Chl. a.). The filtered lake water quality satisfied the norm set for oligotrophic lakes for TP and Chl. a. Results from this on-site study are very promising, showing the potential applicability of geotextile filtration as an ecologically attractive technique to improve the surface water quality of small aquatic bodies.
