In total, 8 failed the data quality checks, and the remaining 292 were included in the analysis. In the identity-based PSA, the source of the PSA was changed, and a phrase of approximately 12 words relevant to the individual's identity was inserted. A PSA tailored for Christians, when matched with a Christian identity, increased the likelihood of compliance by 12 percentage points. A PSA that focused on economic values, when shown to individuals who identified as economically motivated, increased the likelihood of compliance by 6 points.
Using social media to deliver COVID-19 public health announcements customized to individuals' identities is a promising measure to increase compliance with public health guidelines.

In the United States, racial and ethnic minorities are disproportionately affected by COVID-19, with persistent social and structural factors contributing to these disparities. At the intersection of race/ethnicity and gender, women of color may be disadvantaged in terms of COVID-19 outcomes due to their role as essential workers, higher prevalence of pre-existing conditions, increased stress and anxiety from loss of wages and caregiving, and domestic violence.
The purpose of this study was to examine racial and ethnic differences in the prevalence of COVID-19 outcomes, stressors, fear, and prevention behaviors among adult women residing in the United States.
Between May and June 2020, women were recruited into The COPE Study, a web-based cross-sectional study, using advertisements on Facebook; 491 eligible women completed a self-administered internet-based cross-sectional survey. Descriptive statistics were used to examine racial and ethnic differences (White; Asian; Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Iss were observed for some of the individual scale items (e.g., being afraid of getting COVID-19, sleep loss and heart racing due to worrying about COVID-19).
Low prevalence of COVID-19 testing and knowledge of where to get tested indicate a critical need to expand testing for women in the U.S., particularly among racial/ethnic minority women. Although overall prevalence of engagement in prevention behaviors was high, targeted education and promotion of prevention activities is warranted in communities of color, particularly with consideration for stressors and adverse mental health.
The co-existence of nitrate, manganese (Mn), and antibiotics are of a wide concern. In this study, a denitrifying and manganese-oxidizing Zoogloea Q7 bacterium was immobilized using polyvinyl alcohol/sodium alginate with sponge cube (PVA/SA@sponge cube) in the reactor. The optimal operation parameters of the bioreactor were explored. Orludodstat molecular weight Maximum nitrate, Mn(II), and tetracycline (TC) removal efficiencies of 93.00, 72.34, and 57.32% were achieved with HRT of 10 h, pH of 6.5, Mn(II) concentration of 20 mg L-1, and TC of 1 mg L-1, respectively. Fluorescence excitation-emission matrix (EEM) proved that the microorganism in the bioreactor was greatly active. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) images demonstrated that Zoogloea Q7 was commendably immobilized on the novel material. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis suggested that the bioprecipitate was mainly composed of MnO2 and MnCO3. Through high-throughput analysis, Zoogloea sp. Q7 was considered to be the dominant bacteria present in the bioreactor.Co-production of polysaccharides, ginsenosides and succinic acid was achieved from Panax ginseng residue (PGR) in this study. Physico-chemical separation was first applied to recover the released polysaccharides and ginsenoside. Enzymatic hydrolysis was then conducted to covert the left PGR into mono-sugars which was following transformed into succinic acid by constructing a succinic acid-producing strain of Escherichia coli-ZW333. Results indicated that the yields of polysaccharides and ginsenosides increased according to the increase of deconstruction content of PGR. A total sugar yield reached 52 g/L at 10% PGR loading and increased to 94.33 g/L following fed-batch enzymatic hydrolysis. Finally, 56.28 g/L succinic acid was produced. In total, 18 g ginseng polysaccharides, 230 mg ginsenosides and 39 g succinic acid were produced from 100 g PGR. Accordingly, the total economic output could reach RMB 80,149 from 1 t PGR, illustrating the great value increasement of PGR by this industrially possible process. The problem of waste generation in the form of wastewater and solid wastes has caused an urgent, yet persisting, global issue that calls for the development of sustainable treatment and resource recovery technologies. The production of value-added polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) from industrial waste streams has attracted the attention of researchers and process industries because they could replace traditional plastics. PHAs are biopolymers with high degradability, with a variety of applications in the manufacturing sector (e.g. medical equipment, packaging). The aim of this review is to describe the techniques and industrial waste streams that are applied for PHA production. The different enrichment and accumulation techniques that employ mixed microbial communities and carbon recovery from industrial waste streams and various downstream processes were reviewed. PHA yields between 7.6 and 76 wt% were reported for pilot-scale PHA production; while, at the laboratory-scale, yields from PHA accumulation range between 8.6 and 56 wt%. The recent advances in the application of waste streams for PHA production could result in more widely spread PHA production at the industrial scale via its integration into biorefineries for co-generation of PHAs with other added-value products like biohydrogen and biogas.Poultry coccidiosis is an important disease affecting performance which is characterized by intestinal epithelium damageand increased mortality and is caused by the protozoa parasites of the genus Eimeria. This study evaluated the growth-promoting (experiment 1), protective, and immunostimulatory effects (experiment 2) of salinomycin and Scrophularia striata hydroalcoholic extract (SSE) against coccidiosis in broilers. Two experiments were conducted with 300 1-day-old broiler chickens, which were randomly assigned to 5 treatments with 6 replicate pens of 10 birds (experiment 1) or 10 replicate cages of 6 birds (experiment 2). In both experiments, treatments were negative control (NC untreated, and uninfected); positive control (PC untreated, infected); or PC supplemented with salinomycin (Sal); 200 mg/kg of SSE (SSE200); or 400 mg/kg of SSE (SSE400). All these groups (except NC) were challenged via oral gavage with of sporulated oocysts of Eimeria species (Eimeria acervulina, Eimeria maxima, and Eimeria tenella) on d 10 (experiment 1) or d 14 (experiment 2).
