Hyoid bone locations and displacements are often used as important indicators for the evaluation of swallowing disorders. However, this requires clinicians to spend a great deal of time reviewing the ultrasound images. (2) Methods In this study, we applied tracking algorithms based on deep learning and correlation filters to detect hyoid locations in ultrasound videos collected during swallowing. Fifty videos were collected from 10 young, healthy subjects for training, evaluation, and testing of the trackers. (3) Results The best performing deep learning algorithm, Fully-Convolutional Siamese Networks (SiamFC), proved to have reliable performance in getting accurate hyoid bone locations from each frame of the swallowing ultrasound videos. While having a real-time frame rate (175 fps) when running on an RTX 2060, SiamFC also achieved a precision of 98.9% at the threshold of 10 pixels (3.25 mm) and 80.5% at the threshold of 5 pixels (1.63 mm). The tracker's root-mean-square error and average error were 3.9 pixels (1.27 mm) and 3.3 pixels (1.07 mm), respectively. (4) Conclusions Our results pave the way for real-time automatic tracking of the hyoid bone in ultrasound videos for swallowing assessment.Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer worldwide and has a high rate of metastatic disease which is the main cause of CRC-related death. This review focuses the attention on colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) and highlights recommendations and therapeutic locoregional strategies drawn from the current literature and consensus conferences. The different percutaneous therapies (radiofrequency ablation, microwave ablation, irreversible electroporation) as well as trans-arterial approaches (chemoembolization and radioembolization) are discussed. Ablation margins, the choice of the imaging guidance as well as characteristics of the different ablation techniques and other technical aspects are analyzed. A specific attention is then paid to the increasing role of biomarkers (in particular molecular profiling) and their role in the selection of the proper treatment for the right patient. This study examined the beneficial effects of MHY3200 on age-associated alterations in reactive oxygen species (ROS)/Akt/forkhead box (FoxO) 1 signaling in rat kidneys. Young (7-month-old) and old (22-month-old) rats were treated with MHY3200 (1 mg/kg body weight/day or 3 mg/kg body weight/day) for two weeks. MHY3200 treatment led to a notable decrease in triglyceride and insulin levels in serum from old rats. The elevated kidney ROS level, serum insulin level, and Akt phosphorylation in old rats were reduced following MHY3200 treatment; moreover, FoxO1 phosphorylation increased. The clearance of damaged mitochondria by mitophagy may facilitate mitochondrial biogenesis and enhance cell survival. Although the supplementation of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) has been recognized to relieve the symptoms of various liver diseases, the antioxidant effect of DHA in liver disease is still unclear. The purpose of our research was to investigate the antioxidant effect of DHA in the liver and the possible role of mitophagy in this. In vitro, H2O2-induced injury was caused in AML12 cells. The results showed that DHA repressed the level of reactive oxygen species (ROS) induced by H2O2 and stimulated the cellular antioxidation response. Most notably, DHA restored oxidative stress-impaired autophagic flux and promoted protective autophagy. In addition, PINK/Parkin-mediated mitophagy was activated by DHA in AML12 cells and alleviated mitochondrial dysfunction. The ERK1/2 signaling pathway was inhibited during oxidative stress but reactivated by DHA treatment.
