Thirty-five 3D models of large (aortic, wall thickness of 2 mm, n = 30) and small (coronary, wall thickness of 1.25 mm, n = 5) vessels printed with fused deposition modeling (FDM) (rigid, n = 20) and PolyJet (flexible, n = 15) technology were subjected to high-resolution CT scans. From the resulting DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) dataset, an STL file was generated and wall thickness as well as surface congruency were compared with the original STL file using dedicated 3D engineering software. The mean wall thickness for the large-scale aortic models was 2.11 µm (+5%), and 1.26 µm (+0.8%) for the coronary models, resulting in an overall mean wall thickness of +5% for all 35 3D models when compared to the original STL file. The mean surface deviation was found to be +120 µm for all models, with +100 µm for the aortic and +180 µm for the coronary 3D models, respectively. Both printing technologies were found to conform with the currently set standards of accuracy ( less then 1 mm), demonstrating that accurate 3D models of large and small vessel anatomy can be generated by both FDM and PolyJet printing technology using rigid and flexible polymers.In this paper, we propose an on-chip micromixer driven by an elastic wall with a virtual actuator. The on-chip micro mixer is composed of a circular chamber surrounded by a ring-shaped channel under isolation with an elastic wall. When vibrational pressure is put on the driving channel by an actuator, the volume of the circular chamber changes through the deformation of the elastic wall, as if there exists a virtual actuator near the wall. As a result, the liquid in the circular chamber is pushed out and pulled through the neck channel. This action creates a swirling flow in the circular chamber while maintaining isolation from the driving channel. Through experiments, we confirmed the swirling flow under an isolated environment using an air-based valve. Upon modification of metal surfaces, the interfacial bonding strength increased, and the highest was obtained by silane coupling agent A-1387. Improved strength maintained FML's integrity under quasi-static and dynamic loadings. A-1387 improved the bonding ability of aluminium alloy and Carbon Fibre-Reinforced Plastics (CFRP). The composite interface strongly resisted crack propagation because of its functional group characteristics. When the volume content of aluminium alloy was less and greater than that of CFRP, the energy absorption capacity of CARALL weakened and strengthened, respectively, with increasing interfacial bonding strength.In this paper, we introduce new concepts in the machine translation paradigm. We treat the corpus as a database of frequent word sets. A translation request triggers association rules joining phrases present in the source language, and phrases present in the target language. It has to be noted that a sequential scan of the corpus for such phrases will increase the response time in an unexpected manner. We introduce the pre-processing of the bilingual corpus through proposing a data structure called Corpus-Trie (CT) that renders a bilingual parallel corpus in a compact data structure representing frequent data items sets. We also present algorithms which utilize the CT to respond to translation requests and explore novel techniques in exhaustive experiments. Experiments were performed on specific language pairs, although the proposed method is not restricted to any specific language. Moreover, the proposed Corpus-Trie can be extended from bilingual corpora to accommodate multi-language corpora. Experiments indicated that the response time of a translation request is logarithmic to the count of unrepeated phrases in the original bilingual corpus (and thus, the Corpus-Trie size). In practical situations, 5-20% of the log of the number of the nodes have to be visited. The experimental results indicate that the BLEU score for the proposed CT system increases with the size of the number of phrases in the CT, for both English-Arabic and English-French translations. The proposed CT system was demonstrated to be better than both Omega-T and Apertium in quality of translation from a corpus size exceeding 1,600,000 phrases for English-Arabic translation, and 300,000 phrases for English-French translation.The assessment of behaviorally inhibited children is typically based on parent or teacher reports, but this approach has received criticisms, mainly for being prone to bias. Several researchers proposed the additional use of observational methods because they provide a direct and more objective description of the child's functioning in different contexts. The lack of a laboratory assessment of temperament for Portuguese children justifies the adaptation of some episodes of the Laboratory Temperament Assessment Battery (Lab-TAB) as an observational measure for behavioral inhibition. Method In our study, we included 124 children aged between 3 and 9 years and their parents. The evaluation of child behavioral inhibition was made by parent report (Behavioral Inhibition Questionnaire) and through Lab-TAB episodes. Parental variables with potential influence on parents' reports were also collected using the Social Interaction and Performance Anxiety and Avoidance Scale (SIPAAS) and the Parental Overprotection Measure (POM).
