Prelicensure nursing students lack the situational awareness to promote timely intervention with a patient in septic shock. This study evaluated a multifaceted educational project that determined the impact on nursing students' knowledge retention and time to task (TTT).
A quasi-experimental, repeated-measures design was used to evaluate students' knowledge retention and TTT. Eighty-four prelicensure nursing students participated in groups of 4 students to participate in a high-fidelity simulation.
Results show knowledge retention was significant between the pretest scores and 2 repeated assessment scores. The repeated-measures analysis of variance time effect P value was .02. The overall TTT group response suggested most (64/84, 76%) students responded within 5 minutes of patient deterioration.

Telehealth is a rapidly growing health care delivery modality with advanced practice nurses as key providers. This growth has occurred without critical consideration of provider training. Training requires the development of competencies situated within a framework.
Standardized telehealth competencies for advanced practice nursing are missing. The purpose of this article is to describe the development of telehealth competencies for education and practice.
Using the Four P's of Telehealth framework (planning, preparing, providing, and performance evaluation), a modified Delphi technique was used to identify, develop, and evaluate telehealth competencies.
Competencies were arranged around telehealth domains, expected activities, and outcomes. Effective use of the competencies to guide curriculum development, practice, and future research related to telehealth was identified.
Providing education with competencies aligned to the Four P's Telehealth framework will provide learners with tools to assume leadership roles in all phases of telehealth implementation, delivery, and refinement.

The purpose of this project was to identify preceptor rewards that may foster NP preceptor recruitment and retention at one university. Seventy preceptors were surveyed regarding their reward preferences using rewards identified in the literature and among regional NP programs. selleck The most preferred rewards included continuing education credits, professional growth opportunities, maintaining professional relationships with the university, and financial remuneration. To provide NP students with positive and effective clinical experiences, it is essential that NP program leaders understand preceptors' preferences and commit to preceptor support.
