Microorganisms can help maintain homeostasis in humans by providing nutrition, maintaining hormone balance, and regulating inflammatory responses. In the case of imbalances, these microbes can cause various diseases, even malignancy. Pancreatic cancer (PC) is characterized by high tumor invasiveness, distant metastasis, and insensitivity to traditional chemotherapeutic drugs, and it is confirmed that PC is closely related to microorganisms. Recently, most studies based on clinical samples or case reports discussed the positive or negative relationships between microorganisms and PC. However, the specific mechanisms are blurry, especially the involved immunological pathways, and the roles of beneficial flora have usually been ignored. We reviewed studies published through September 2020 as identified using PubMed, MEDLINE, and Web of Science. We mainly introduced the traits of oral, gastrointestinal, and intratumoral microbes in PC and summarized the roles of these microbes in tumorigenesis and tumoral develblurry, especially the involved immunological pathways, and the roles of beneficial flora have usually been ignored. We reviewed studies published through September 2020 as identified using PubMed, MEDLINE, and Web of Science. We mainly introduced the traits of oral, gastrointestinal, and intratumoral microbes in PC and summarized the roles of these microbes in tumorigenesis and tumoral development through immunological pathways, in addition to illustrating the relationships between metabolic diseases with PC by microorganism. In addition, we identified microorganisms as biomarkers for early diagnosis and immunotherapy. This review will be significant for greater understanding the effect of microorganisms in PC and provide more meaningful guidance for future clinical applications.
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the most common inherited cardiac disorder globally, affecting 0.2% to 0.5% of individuals. Existing clinical HCM guidelines do not address diverse populations, specifically minority groups who often experience health disparities.

The aim of this study was to describe the state of the science of HCM in black populations.

This integrated review guided by Whittemore and Knafl's methodology included literature search of multiple databases, data evaluation, and analysis. selleckchem Publications between 2000 and 2020 were included if they addressed HCM cardiac anatomic manifestations, disease course, symptoms, quality of life, or outcomes in black populations.

Six articles met the inclusion criteria. Overall, blacks are underrepresented in HCM research. The rate of growth for male cosmetic treatments has slowed in the past 5 years. There is limited data on why men may not seek cosmetic treatments.

To evaluate women's perspectives on male cosmetic treatments.

Heterosexual female patients (single (n = 64); in a relationship/married (IR/M) (n = 136)) completed an online survey.

87.5% of single and 36.03% of IR/M women reported that men are bothered by signs of aging (p < .0001). However, both single and IR/M women reported that men are interested in (single 77.78%, IR/M 65.44%) and will benefit (single 93.55%, IR/M 67.31%) from cosmetic procedures. Both groups of women (single 93.75%, IR/M 83.82%, p < .0530) indicated, however, that men are reluctant to seek cosmetic treatments. Societal stigma/perception of masculinity was the number one cited reason (single 87.1.75%, IR/M 73.02%, p < .0264). However, 87.5% of single and 94.86% of IR/M women (p = .0659) reported that male cosmetic treatments will not affect their perceptions of masculinity. Furthermore, 95% of women (single 95.31%, IR/M 95.59%, p = .9292) reported that they will support their partners from pursuing cosmetic treatments.

Suction-curettage using an arthroscopic shaver is the most effective surgical treatment for bromhidrosis; however, information regarding the procedure is limited. This study investigated the factors that affect the efficacy of suction-curettage.

We retrospectively evaluated data for 215 patients (430 axillae) with bromhidrosis treated with suction-curettage using an arthroscopic shaver between 2011 and 2019.

Excellent or good efficacy with improved malodor was achieved in 418 axillae (97.21%). Secondary suction-curettage was performed for 11 (2.56%), with excellent results. Efficacy and need for secondary suction-curettage were not associated with age, sex, shaving time, and tumescent infiltration use.
