To ensure the plant health and safety of natural enemies and pollinators, seed dressing is preferred over foliar application. It is an eco-friendly approach of crop protection at low doses. Tetraniliprole as a seed dresser was applied on maize seeds at 3.6 and 7.2 g a.i./kg as a proposed dose and twice the proposed dose, respectively. The present field study assessed the quantitative translocation of tetraniliprole and its toxic metabolite chinazolinone in maize leaves, immature cob, stove, and grains using the QuEChERS method. The quantification of residue was carried on HPLC equipped with reverse phase ZORBAX Eclipse Plus C18 column (4.6 × 250; 5 μ) and diode array detector. Limit of detection and limit of quantification were worked out to be 0.01 and 0.05 mg kg-1, respectively. All calibration curves showed a good linear relationship (r2 > 0.99) within test ranges (0.01-0.5 μg ml-1). Samples of maize leaves were collected on the 20th day after sowing considered "0" day. Initial residues of tetraniliprole in maize leaves were 0.921 and 1.377 mg kg-1 at proposed and twice the proposed dose, respectively, and reached below limit of quantification (LOQ) 0.05 mg kg-1 on the 7th and 15th day, respectively. Chinazolinone was not detected at both the doses. Estimation of tetraniliprole as well as its metabolite persistivity in immature cob at fruiting stage, mature grain, stove, and soil collected at harvest time revealed residues below LOQ.Adrenocortical tumors (ACT) in the adult and pediatric population are generally considered distinct entities due to differences in molecular events related to tumorigenesis, clinical presentation, and outcome. Furthermore, pathological criteria used for diagnosis and prognostication of ACT in adults are usually inadequate for predicting the biological behavior of ACT in children. Here, we analyzed 146 adult and 44 pediatric ( less then 15y/o) ACT with long-term clinical follow-up and furthered current evidence on the clinical and pathological differences between pediatric and adult tumors. Predilection for female over male gender was observed in both cohorts, but more so in adults (84% vs. 61%, p = 0.003). Cushing syndrome was more frequent in adults (p less then 0.001), whereas virilization, either isolated (p less then 0.001) or combined to Cushing (p = 0.047), was more common in children. The Ki67 labelling index (LI) of pediatric adenomas and carcinomas was much higher than their corresponding tumors in adults (p less then 0.001). Despite these differences, pathological analyses including the evaluation of Ki67 greatly improved patient prognostication in both age cohorts. Indeed, increased Weiss scores and Ki67 indexes correlated with poor overall- and disease-free survival in adult patients with carcinoma. Among the proliferative indexes tested, Ki67 LI ≥ 10% showed the highest hazard ratio (HR) for recurrence and the Ki67 LI ≥ 3% showed the highest HR for survival. In pediatric tumors, the Wieneke score (p less then 0.001) and the Ki67 LI (p less then 0.001) showed high accuracy for predicting biological behavior, and increased scores/indexes correlated with worse overall and disease-free survival. In this age cohort, Ki67 LI less then 10% was able to rule out malignant behavior, whereas Ki67 LI ≥ 15% may be used to predict the patients with higher risks of recurrence and/or poor outcome.

Like other Indian rivers, it is contaminated with sewages, industrial discharges, and agricultural runoff. Thus, necessity was felt to monitor its pollution status. selleck inhibitor Present work was part of that program and aimed to assess the sediment contamination due to the trace metals Cd, Cr, Cu, Mn, Pb, and Zn during 2012-2015. Sediment pollution status and ecological risks were evaluated calculating contamination factor (CF), geo-accumulation (Igeo), pollution load index (PLI), potential ecological risk (EiR), etc. The recorded metal concentrations were Cd BDL of flame mode of AAS; Cr BDL - 73.9; Cu BDL - 44.4; Mn 37.2 - 1887.0; Pb BDL - 29.5; and Zn BDL - 92.5 mg kg-1. As per US EPA guidelines, Cr concentrations at many locations were in the moderately polluted range. Igeo, CF, mCd, PLI, and EiR indicated low pollution levels and low ecological risks due to the trace metals assessed. The sediment quality guidelines (SQGs) indicated that Cr and Cu concentrations exceeded (16% sample) the threshold effect concentrations and may occasionally exhibit adverse biological effects. The association of sediment organic matter, conductivity and content of Cu, and their grouping in component 1 of PCA revealed that the anthropogenic input was dominant and so also the component 2 where Cr exhibited moderately good correlation with organic matter. Cluster analysis of the sampling sites based on pollution status yielded 3 groups relatively uncontaminated (S3, S4), low to moderately contaminated (S2), and moderately contaminated (S1, S5, S6) stretches.
