Construction, Energetics, and Spectra for your Air Emptiness in Rutile: Dominance from the Ti-HO-Ti Connection.
To develop a novel fast water-selective free-breathing 3D Cartesian cardiac CINE scan with full self-navigation and isotropic whole-heart (WH) coverage.

A free-breathing 3D Cartesian cardiac CINE scan with a water-selective balanced steady-state free precession and a continuous (non-ECG-gated) variable-density Cartesian sampling with spiral profile ordering, out-inward sampling and acquisition-adaptive alternating tiny golden and golden angle increment between spiral arms is proposed. Data is retrospectively binned based on respiratory and cardiac self-navigation signals. A translational respiratory-motion-corrected and cardiac-motion-resolved image is reconstructed with a multi-bin patch-based low-rank reconstruction (MB-PROST) within about 15 min. A respiratory-motion-resolved approach is also investigated. The proposed 3D Cartesian cardiac CINE is acquired in sagittal orientation in 1 min 50 s for 1.9 mm
isotropic WH coverage. Left ventricular (LV) function parameters and image quality derived from a blinded reading of the proposed 3D CINE framework are compared against conventional multi-slice 2D CINE imaging in 10 healthy subjects and 10 patients with suspected cardiovascular disease.

The proposed framework provides free-breathing 3D cardiac CINE images with 1.9 mm
spatial and about 45 ms temporal resolution in a short acquisition time (<2 min). LV function parameters derived from 3D CINE were in good agreement with 2D CINE (10 healthy subjects and 10 patients). Bias and confidence intervals were obtained for end-systolic volume, end-diastolic volume and ejection fraction of 0.1 ± 3.5 mL, -0.6 ± 8.2 mL and -0.1 ± 2.2%, respectively.

The proposed framework enables isotropic 3D Cartesian cardiac CINE under free breathing for fast assessment of cardiac anatomy and function.

The aim of this study was to compare sperm quality parameters after cryopreservation using both methods. Semen samples were collected from three Andalusian Donkeys. Semen was centrifuged and pellets resuspended with an extender with glycerol for conventional freezing or the same extender without glycerol, but with sucrose 0.1 mol/L for vitrification. Conventional freezing was performed in nitrogen vapours and thawed in a water bath (30s/37°C). Vitrification was performed in covered 0.25 ml straws plunged directly into liquid nitrogen and warmed in 3 ml of a milk-based extender at 43°C. Total (TM, %) and progressive motility (PM, %) were evaluated by computer-assisted sperm analysis, and plasma membrane (PMI, %) and acrosome (AIS, %) integrities by epifluorescence microscopy. No differences (p > .05) were found between slow freezing and vitrification methods for any of the parameters assessed TM (58.2 ± 16.1% vs. 52.7 ± 15.6%), PM (44.7 ± 18.2% vs. 44.3 ± 15.0%), PMI (55.4 ± 9.0% vs. 49.2 ± 11.2%) and AIS (38.4 ± 19.6% vs. 45.0 ± 11.0%), respectively. In conclusion, donkey sperm vitrification in straws presented similar sperm quality after thawing in comparison to conventional freezing. Therefore, it could be considered as an alternative to slow freezing regarding the sperm parameters assessed.
Psychological pain refers to the torment that results from adverse experiences, such as loneliness, guilt, frustration, hopelessness or loss. Psychological pain may impair physical and psychosocial functioning of older adults. Death anxiety is associated with cognitive function deterioration, change to social environment and increased risk of depression. This study investigated associations among components of comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA), death anxiety and psychological pain.

In total, 100 patients aged ≥65 years were included in this study. Demographic characteristics and CGA test scores were examined. The Templer scale was used to evaluate death anxiety; the Psychache scale was used to evaluate psychological pain. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to identify parameters independently associated with poor cognitive performance and death anxiety.

The patients' median age was 73 (65-92) years. Tosedostat cost Death anxiety was detected in 34% of patients. Psychological pain and death anxiety levels were significantly associated with Mini-Mental State Examination, clock drawing test, Geriatric Depression Scale-15 and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) scores. Psychological pain levels were independently associated with cognitive performance. Finally, psychological pain and IADL scores were independently associated with death anxiety.

During a CGA, practitioners should note that psychological pain and death anxiety may negatively affect cognitive function and IADL scores. Patients should be re-evaluated, following suitable psychotherapeutic interventions. Geriatr Gerontol Int 2020; 20 1056-1060..

Geriatr Gerontol Int 2020; 20 1056-1060..South American dry forests have a complex and poorly understood biogeographic history. Based on the fragmented distribution of many Neotropical dry forest species, it has been suggested that this biome was more widely distributed and contiguous under drier climate conditions in the Pleistocene. To test this scenario, known as the Pleistocene Arc Hypothesis, we studied the phylogeography of the Rufous-fronted Thornbird (Phacellodomus rufifrons), a widespread dry forest bird with a disjunct distribution closely matching that of the biome itself. We sequenced mtDNA and used ddRADseq to sample 7,167 genome-wide single-nucleotide polymorphisms from 74 P. rufifrons individuals across its range. We found low genetic differentiation over two prominent geographic breaks - particularly across a 1,000 km gap between populations in Bolivia and Northern Peru. Using demographic analyses of the joint site frequency spectrum, we found evidence of recent divergence without subsequent gene flow across those breaks. By contrast, parapatric morphologically distinct populations in northeastern Brazil show high genetic divergence with evidence of recent gene flow.
