ver cancer.
Conclusion In vivo, bio-distribution and plasma profile studies resulted in significantly higher concentration of 5- Fluorouracil liver suggesting that these carriers are efficient, viable, and targeted carrier of 5-FU treatment of liver cancer.
A ceftiofur hydrochloride long-acting oily suspension with no irritation was prepared by testing and optimizing the types and amounts of organic solvents, suspending agents, and surfactants.

Its properties, stability, injection site irritation,
release, and pharmacokinetics in pigs were evaluated. The optimum formulation was used ethyl oleate, aluminum monosterate, and span-80 as organic solvents, suspending agents, and surfactant, respectively. The drug microparticles were uniform long strip with size of 1.53 ± 0.11 μm and no agglomerations, and were evenly dispersed. The re-dispersed time, sedimentation rate and pH value of the suspension were 4 s under a magnetic shaker rotating at 20 r/min, 1 and 5.0, respectively. It could go through 7-gage needle smoothly with withdrawal volume of 9.9 mL/min.

The suspension showed good stability when stored away from light, no irritation at the injection site and sustained release in PBS buffer. After intramuscular administration, the drug concentration above 0.15 μg/mL was last for 120 h. Its elimination half-life (T
), mean residence time (MRT), and bioavailability were increased by 1.73, 1.62, and 2.16 times compared to Excenel
.

The results suggested that the suspension had excellent sustained-release and will make ceftiofur hydrochloride more effective and convenient to use.

Eimeriosis is a parasitic intestinal infection that affects the poultry industry; it is responsible for economic losses on a global scale.
Objective This study investigated the protective role of Morus nigra leaf extracts (ME) against Eimeria papillata infection in mice.
Methods C57Bl/6 mice were divided into six groups. The first group was gavaged daily with 100 μL 0.9 % NaCl. The second group was treated daily by oral gavage with 100 μL M. nigra leaf extracts (ME) (200 mg/kg), while the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth groups were orally infected with 1000 E. papillata oocysts. The last three groups were daily treated for 5 days with 200, 400, and 800 mg/kg of ME, respectively. Samples of jejunum were obtained for examining the histopathological changes as well as changes in the nitric oxide and catalase levels.
Results Infrared spectroscopy of ME showed the presence of several expected active classes of phytochemical compounds. ME was able to reduce the E. papillata oocysts in mice feces by about 80% and decrease the infection-induced jejunal histopathological injuries. This was quantified using the histological injury score. In addition, ME significantly recovered the changes in nitric oxide and catalase levels.
Conclusion Our findings showed that the M. Nigra extract has antioxidant activity which protects against murine eimeriosis. Further studies are required to determine the exact active compounds in ME and their mode of action.

In this study, we investigated the histopathology and immunohistochemical localization of B. mallei in natural cases of equine glanders. Four horses showing clinical signs of nasal discharge and multiple cutaneous nodules or papulae in the hindlimbs and abdomen were reported in Mongolia. They tested positive for B. mallei infection on complement fixation, Rose Bengal agglutination, and mallein tests. Gross and histological lesions observed in these cases were similar to those previously reported in equine glanders. Immunohistochemistry using a monoclonal antibody to B. mallei BpaB showed localization of the bacterial antigen in the cytoplasm of neutrophils, macrophages, epithelioid cells, and multinucleated giant cells in the pyogranulomas and abscesses in target organs. Some alveolar type II cells and bronchiolar epithelial cells also contained the antigen. These results suggest that the anti-BpaB antibody is useful for identifying B. mallei-infected cell types in naturally infected horses.
Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a prevalent neurobehavioral disorder in children. There are limited studies for diet or dietary supplement effects on ADHD in preschool children in Asia. This study aimed to determine the association between dietary patterns in 4-year-old children and ADHD symptoms in 6-year-old children.

We estimated dietary intake in 4-year-old children using a food frequency questionnaire. Using 33 food groups, major dietary patterns were identified in relation to the consumption of sweets, vegetables, meats, and carbohydrates. Parents of 6-year-old children used the Korean version of the ADHD Rating Scale for ADHD symptom assessment.

A sweet dietary pattern was associated with a higher risk of attention deficit (AD) (relative risk [RR], 1.34; confidence interval [CI], 1.17-1.55), hyperactivity (RR, 1.40; CI, 1.19-1.64), and ADHD symptoms (RR, 1.37; CI, 1.23-1.52). A vegetable dietary pattern was associated with a lower risk of ADHD symptoms (RR, 0.81; CI, 0.72-0.90). Food item analysis of the sweet dietary pattern showed that intake scores for chocolate, chips, and fruit jams positively correlated with AD, hyperactivity, and ADHD symptoms.

These findings can be useful to further understand the roles of dietary factors in ADHD.

Sheep fetuses and placenta specimens were examined during the 2010-2011 River Valley fever (RVF) outbreak in South Africa. A total of 72 fetuses were studied of which 58 were confirmed positive for RVF. Placenta specimens were available for 35 cases. Macroscopic lesions in fetuses were nonspecific and included marked edema and occasional hemorrhages in visceral organs. Microscopically, multifocal hepatic necrosis was present in 48 of 58 cases, and apoptotic bodies, foci of liquefactive hepatic necrosis (primary foci), and eosinophilic intranuclear inclusions in hepatocytes were useful diagnostic features. Lymphocytolysis was present in all lymphoid organs examined with the exception of thymus and Peyer's patches, and pyknosis or karyorrhexis was often present in renal glomeruli. AS101 The most significant histologic lesion in the placenta was necrosis of trophoblasts and endothelial cells in the cotyledonary and intercotyledonary chorioallantois.
