Dietary Necessary protein Need Tolerance along with Micronutrients Report throughout Balanced Elderly Women Based on Comparable Skeletal Muscular mass.
The incidence of early pregnancy loss widely varies according to age, being considerably higher in older women. Severe congenital malformations play an important role in pregnancy loss, having a high risk of recurrence. Congenital heart defects are the most common congenital abnormalities, thus the diagnosis of such malformations in aborted embryos is important for establishing both a possible cause for pregnancy loss and for correctly counseling the parents. Pathologic examination of the heart that is only a few millimeters in size, is very challenging.

A pathologic examination protocol using transverse microscopic sections at the level of the 4-chamber and 3-vessel planes is proposed for heart evaluation.

Two 9-10 gestational weeks embryos were microscopically examined using transverse slides of the thorax. The 4-chamber and 3-vessel slides were analyzed and compared to 11-13 weeks ultrasound images of the 4-chamber and 3-vessel views from 10 cases. The pathologic examination provided a detailed view of the ventricles, atria and great vessels, sometime surpassing even the ultrasound examination that was performed at a later gestational age.

We consider our proposed pathologic examination protocol feasible for evaluating normal heart structures and ruling out severe congenital heart disease.

Whether lymphovascular invasion (LVI) is a high-degree risk factor in stage II colorectal cancer has not been fully clarified, as different results have been reported in the literature. If LVI is a risk factor, postoperative chemotherapy may be recommended. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of lymphovascular invasion on disease recurrence and patient prognosis in conjunction with stage II colorectal cancer (CRC).

A total of 636 patients with stage II CRC, each undergoing radical resection between April 2007 and December 2015, were selected for the study. Subjects with or without venous or lymphatic invasion were assigned to positive and negative groups, respectively. We then compared overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) using propensity score matching.

After matching (n=226, each group), OS and DFS were found to be significantly lower (OS p=0.047; DFS p=0.004) in patients positive (vs. negative) for venous invasion. However, the same was not true of lymphatic invasion. After matching, positive and negative groups (n=92, each) did not significantly differ in terms of OS (p=0.951) or DFS (p=0.258).

In patients with stage II CRC, venous invasion proved to be a significant high-degree risk factor that may warrant adjuvant chemotherapy.

As the population ages, there are increasing findings of coincidental diseases such as abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and intra-abdominal, retroperitoneal malignancy. The aim of this study was to propose an optimal treatment procedure for these patients.

Over a twenty-year-period, surgery was performed on a total of 1,098 patients with AAA and 32 (2.9%) patients with AAA and intra-abdominal, retroperitoneal malignancy 18 renal, 6 colorectal carcinomas, 3 carcinomas of the small intestine, 3 primary liver tumours, 1 stomach carcinoma and 1 teratoma. The median age of patients was 72.5 years, there were 20 men (62.5%) and 12 women (37.5%). A one-stage procedure was performed on 19 patients (59.4%), and a two-stage procedure on 13 (40.6%) patients.

The average time of hospitalization was 12.4±6.9 days (median=11.0 days) for one-stage procedure, for a two-stage procedure 21.3±9.3 days (median=20.0 days), p=0.0045. Seven patients (21.9%) died within 30 days after the operation. All the deaths were in the group of one-stage procedures (p=0.0252). Caerulein The 1-, 3- and 5-year overall survival for patients following one-stage and twostage procedures was 61.0/56.3/51.5% and 89.0/79.9/53.0% respectively (p=0.1199).

Symptomatic disease must be resolved first. Two-stage procedures are the method of choice and offer better short-term results compared to one-stage procedures.

Survival of patients with pancreatic cancer remains poor despite improvements in therapeutic strategies. This study aims to create a novel preoperative score to predict prognosis in patients with tumors of the pancreaticobiliary head.

Data on 190 patients who underwent to pancreaticoduodenectomy at Sapienza University of Rome from January 2010 to December 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. After exclusion criteria, 101 patients were considered eligible for retrospective study. Preoperative biological, clinical and radiological parameters were considered.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma [hazard ratio (HR)=1.995, 95% confidence intervaI (CI)=1.1-3.3; p=0.01], carbohydrate antigen 19.9 (CA 19.9) >230 U/ml (HR=2.414, 95% CI=2.4-1.5, p<0.0001) and Wirsung duct diameter >3 mm (HR=1.592, 95% CI=1.5-0.9; p=0.08) were the only parameters associated with poor prognosis. Through these parameters, a prognostic score (PHT score) was developed which predicted worst survival when exceeding 2 and better survival when ≤2.

The PHT score may have a potential impact on predicting overall survival and consequently modulate the timing and type of treatment (up-front surgery vs. neoadjuvant therapy) patients are offered.

Biliary tract cancer (BTC) has a poor prognosis due to its highly invasive and metastatic potential. Ataxia-telangiectasia mutated (ATM) is a key regulator of DNA damage response and an emerging therapeutic target; however, the association between the expression of ATM and the prognosis in advanced BTC is unknown. We aimed to identify the relationship between ATM expression, clinicopathological characteristics, and survival outcomes in patients with advanced BTC.

We analyzed 113 patients with advanced BTC who received first-line gemcitabine and platinum.

The tumor location was intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (IH-CCC) in 43 patients, extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (EH-CCC) in 49, and gallbladder (GB) cancer in 21 patients. Fifty-four patients (47.8%) exhibited loss of ATM protein expression. The overall response rate (ORR) of ATM loss and intact ATM was 13.3% and 19.6%, respectively. In a subgroup analysis, EH-CCC patients with ATM loss tended to have improved PFS after platinum-based chemotherapy compared to those with intact ATM (7.
