We developed a new fully bioresorbable vascular scaffold covered with biodegradable poly-L-lactic acid film (Firesorb-C) for coronary artery perforation. Our vitro tests have demonstrated that Firesorb-C was technically feasible but its biosafety and efficacy warranted further validation in vivo.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the biosafety and efficacy of Firesorb-C in rabbits.
Firesorb-C was deployed at the zone from the abdominal aorta to the right iliac artery in five rabbits. Angiography was conducted for evaluation of the immediate efficacy and 6-month biosafety and biodegradability of the Firesorb-C. Meanwhile, optical coherence tomography (OCT), histological light microscopy (HLM) and scan electron microscopy (SEM) were performed to evaluate the biosafety.
All Firesorb-C applications were successfully implanted without procedure-related complications. In all treated rabbits, angiography showed that the Firesorb-C had completely sealed the opening of the left iliac artery without blood flow in its branches but with full patency of the right iliac artery immediately post-procedurally, while the covered membrane of Firesorb-C had been degraded and blood flow was restored in the left iliac artery and its branches at 6 months. OCT also found that the occluded left iliac artery had been reopened and the stented segment was almost fully endothelialized without in-stent restenosis at 6 months, meanwhile HLM and SEM confirmed comparable results.
Firesorb-C is associated with excellent efficacy, biosafety and biodegradability in rabbits. It shows promise as a replacement for conventional covered stents for treatment of coronary artery perforation or for use in other clinical situations.

Fibroblast growth factor 19 (FGF19) has been proposed as a driver oncogene, and targeting its receptor, FGFR-4, may provide a better alternative to standard therapy for patients with FGF19-driven tumors. Sixty-three HCC patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models were screened for FGF19 expression. Mice bearing high and low FGF19-expressing tumors were treated with FGF401 and/or vinorelbine, and the antitumor activity of both agents was assessed individually and in combination. Tumor vasculature and intratumoral hypoxia were also examined. High FGF19 expression was detected in 14.3% (9 of 63) of the HCC models tested and may represent a good target for HCC treatment. FGF401 potently inhibited the growth of high FGF19-expressing HCC models regardless of FGF19 gene amplification. Furthermore, FGF401 inhibited the FGF19/FGFR-4 signaling pathway, cell proliferation, and hypoxia, induced apoptosis and blood vessel normalization and prolonged the overall survival (OS) of mice bearing high FGF19 tumors. FGF401 synergistically acted with the microtubule-depolymerizing drug vinorelbine to further suppress tumor growth, promote apoptosis, and prolong the OS of mice bearing high FGF19 tumors, with no evidence of increased toxicity. Our study suggests that a subset of patients with high FGF19-expressing HCC tumors could benefit from FGF401 or FGF401/vinorelbine treatment. A high level of FGF19 in a tumor may serve as a potential biomarker for patient selection.Cocoa flavanols protect humans against vascular disease, as evidenced by improvements in peripheral endothelial function, likely through nitric oxide signalling. Emerging evidence also suggests that flavanol-rich diets protect against cognitive aging, but mechanisms remain elusive. In a randomized double-blind within-subject acute study in healthy young adults, we link these two lines of research by showing, for the first time, that flavanol intake leads to faster and greater brain oxygenation responses to hypercapnia, as well as higher performance only when cognitive demand is high. Individual difference analyses further show that participants who benefit from flavanols intake during hypercapnia are also those who do so in the cognitive challenge. These data support the hypothesis that similar vascular mechanisms underlie both the peripheral and cerebral effects of flavanols. They further show the importance of studies combining physiological and graded cognitive challenges in young adults to investigate the actions of dietary flavanols on brain function.
Breast cancer is the most common malignancy in women worldwide. Compared with other malignant tumors, breast cancer patients have a higher incidence of depression and other psychiatric symptoms. The purpose of this meta-analysis was to determine the association between long-term survival and depression in patients with breast cancer.
This review will include cohort studies only. Multiple databases will be searched by 2 independent reviewers, including PubMed, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library, and PsycINFO. The language of studies should be English and Chinese, published from inception to the September 2020. Two independent reviewers will carry out literature screening, research selection and data extraction. Revman5.3 software will be used to generate funnel map, assess heterogeneity, make the subgroup analysis and complete sensitivity analysis.
This review will summarize the available evidence to determine the association between depression and survival in breast cancer patients.
The results of this study will provide reference for the development of comprehensive treatment for breast cancer, and will promote further research.

The effects of an experimental vs. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/nesuparib.html traditional military training program on 2-mile run performance during the army physical fitness test. J Strength Cond Res 34(12) 3431-3438, 2020-The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of an experimental vs. traditional military run training on 2-mile run ability in the Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps cadets. Fifty college-aged cadets were randomly placed into 2 groups and trained for 4 weeks with either an experimental running program (EXP, n = 22) comprised rating of perceived exertion (RPE) intensity-specific, energy system-based intervals or with traditional military running program (TRA, n = 28) using a crossover study design. A 2-mile run assessment was performed just before the start, at the end of the first 4 weeks, and again after the second 4 weeks of training after crossover. The EXP program significantly decreased 2-mile run times (961.3 ± 155.8 seconds to 943.4 ± 140.2 seconds, p = 0.012, baseline to post 1), whereas the TRA group experienced a significant increase in run times (901.
