This was accompanied by an upregulation of multiple proteins involved in skeletal muscle physiology in BAT and an upregulation of muscle specific markers (i.e., Myod1, CkM, Mb, and MyoG). UCP1 mRNA was undetectable in IWAT with proteomics highlighting changes to DNA binding, the positive regulation of apoptosis, HIF-1 signaling and cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction. Conclusion Exercise training reduced weight gain in obese animals at thermoneutrality and is accompanied by an oxidative signature in BAT which is accompanied by a muscle-like signature rather than induction of thermogenic genes. This may represent a new, UCP1-independent pathway through which BAT physiology is regulated by exercise training. However, until now, little has been known about the clinical and MRI manifestations of this disease. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate the clinical and MRI features of PRES to promote clinical management and deepen our understanding of this disease. Materials and Methods Data from six PRES patients with atypical regions were collected from our hospital. Data from another 550 cases were obtained by searching the PubMed, EMBASE and Web of Science databases with the keywords "posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome" "PRES" "reversible posterior leukoencephalopathy" "RPLS" "hypertensive encephalopathy" "hyperperfusion encephalopathy" or "reversible posterior cerebral edema encephalopathy." The clinical and MRI features of these 556 cases were analyzed together. Results A total of 305 patients were female, and 248 were male, 6, 22.3%) lobes. The major treatments were antihypertensives (358/515, 69.5%), antiepileptics/sedation (126/515, 24.5%), discontinuation/switching agents (67/515, 13.0%), and steroids (54/515, 10.5%). The median time of the clinical state improved and abnormal neuroimaging resolved is 2-3 weeks after appropriate treatment. Conclusion The common symptoms of PRES with atypical regions include headaches, altered mental status, seizures, visual disturbances, nausea or vomiting, and focal neurological deficits. The frequent predisposing factors include hypertension, renal diseases, immunosuppressant drugs and chemotherapy/chemoradiotherapy. MRI features are mainly characterized by vasogenic edema in central zones always accompanied by typical regions. Most cases can be reversed in 2-3 weeks when promptly recognized and properly treated. Copyright © 2020 Li, Yang, Guo, Sun and Li.Introduction To evaluate myocardial strain and extracellular volume in myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1) patients as potential imaging biomarkers of subclinical cardiac pathology. Materials and methods We retrospectively analyzed 9 DM1 patients without apparent cardiac disease who had undergone cardiac magnetic resonance at our center. Tanshinone C Patients were age- and sex-matched with healthy controls. The Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare cardiac strain between the two groups. The t-test was used to compare the extracellular volume obtained in DM1 patients with that in healthy subject. Spearman's ρ was used for studying the associations among imaging parameters. Results Global cardiac strain (median -19.1%; IQR -20.5%, -16.5%) in DM1 patients was lower (p = 0.011) than that in controls (median-21.7%; IQR-22.7%,-21.3%). Global extracellular volume in DM1 patients (median 32.3%; IQR 29.3%,36.8%) was significantly (p = 0.008) higher than that reported in literature in healthy subjects (median 25.6%; IQR 19.9%,31.9%). Global cardiac strain showed a strong, positive correlation with septal strain (ρ = 0.767, p = 0.016) and with both global (ρ = 0.733 p = 0.025) and septal extracellular volume (ρ = 0.767, p = 0.016). Discussion The increase in cardiac extracellular volume and decrease in strain are signs of early cardiac pathology in DM1. Physicians dealing with DM1 may take into consideration cardiac magnetic resonance as a screening tool to identify early cardiac involvement in this condition. It is easy to be misdiagnosed with BPPV at the first visit, which means that the ideal therapeutic effects are not achieved. Twenty-five cases of pseudo-BPPV with frequent changing positional vertigo were retrospected and the following key features help to identify the disease recurrent positional and atypical positional vertigo, migrainous accompanying symptoms or migraine history, mild or indistinctive headaches, with or without impaired vestibular function, ineffective for simply reposition. And we found that vertigo in pseudo-BPPV can be preferable controlled by valproic acid combined with canalith repositioning procedure. Cues designed to enforce goal-directed turning are not yet available. Objectives Assess whether augmented reality (AR) visual cues improve FOG and turning in place in PD patients with FOG. Methods Sixteen PD patients with FOG performed a series of 180° turns under an experimental condition with AR visual cues displayed through a HoloLens and two control conditions (one consisting of auditory cues and one without any cues). FOG episodes were annotated by two independent raters from video recordings. Motion data were measured with 17 inertial measurement units for calculating axial kinematics, scaling, and timing of turning. Results AR visual cues did not reduce the percent time frozen (p = 0.73) or the number (p = 0.73) and duration (p = 0.78) of FOG episodes compared to the control condition without cues.
