Colorectal cancer is one of the most common malignancies. With continuous exploration of the interaction between tumor cells and the immune system, tumor immunotherapy has become a revolution. However, CRC remains one of the less effective tumors for immunotherapy. The tumor microenvironment plays an important role in tumorigenesis and progression. The aim of this study is to explore tumor microenvironment-related genes that can predict the prognosis of colorectal adenocarcinoma, and also to provide new ideas for the mechanism of tumor development as well as immunotherapy.
After estimating Stromalscore and Immunescore of colorectal adenocarcinoma tumor samples according to RNA-Seq expression data downloaded from TCGA, we screened for TME-related differential genes. We filtered prognosis-related core genes by constructing protein-protein interaction networks and making one-factor cox analysis for prognosis. find more Finally, the relative content of 22 immune cells in tumor tissues was evaluated, and then immune cells associated with core genes were identified.
We screened 773 differential genes related to the TME. Then we identified C3 as a core gene associated with prognosis. Single gene analysis showed that C3 expression was significantly higher in tumor tissues than in normal tissues (p < 0.001). High C3 expression was associated with lower overall survival (p = 0.046). Tumor immune cell analysis showed that mast cells resting, mast cells activated, T cells CD4 memory activated, eosinophils, and macrophages M0 were C3-associated immune cells.
C3 has potential as a biomarker for colorectal adenocarcinoma and could provide new research ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal adenocarcinoma, especially for immunotherapy.

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted education in myriad ways, primarily leading to an abrupt paradigm shift in teaching and learning practices towards distance learning. The study aims to assess the effectiveness of teaching radiology to undergraduate medical students using synchronous distance learning compared to traditional on-campus learning through exploring students' perceived satisfaction and concerns. Students' perceptions were correlated with their attendance, grades, and frequency of technical difficulties.
The study was designed as an observational study involving fourth-year medical students (2019/2020) from two institutions. The cohort students were exposed to traditional learning, distance learning, or both. Students completed an online self-administered questionnaire concerning their perceptions of distance learning. Students' attendance, engagement, technical difficulties, and post-clerkship knowledge assessments were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics.

Throughout this review, we highlight the areas where this type of cell culture has been applied and the advantages and limitations of using this model in experimental studies for the neurological clinical scenario.Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is problematic to treat, with guidelines for HFpEF management concentrated on treating prevalent comorbidities. The aim of this study is to conduct a systematic review of the economic burden of hospitalisation for HFpEF. We conducted a systematic literature search from 2001, when HFpEF was first identified as an isolated diagnosis, up to July 1, 2020. Databases searched include PubMed, Medline, EMBASE, EBSCO, National Health Service Economic Evaluation and the National Bureau of Economic Research. The primary outcome measure was hospitalisation costs related to HFpEF. A comprehensive search of the literature produced a total of 243 possible studies. A total of nine studies, six from the U.S., met inclusion criteria and were included in this review. All results are presented in United States Dollars (US$) for the financial year 2019. Costs of index (the first) hospitalisation ranged from mean US$8340 up to US$11,366 per admission and increased up to US$31,493 for those with comorbidities. Two studies reported 1-year costs, and these were US$27,174 and US$26,343, respectively. Hospitalisation accounts for approximately 80% of total costs of HFpEF treatment. The results of this systematic review reveal that published costs of HFpEF hospitalisation are limited to nine studies from a comprehensive database search. The costs of an initial HF hospitalisation are significant, and these costs increase when a person with HFpEF presents with comorbidities or other complications.
