Youth in military families are frequently challenged by the adjustment demands associated with the deployment and reintegration of a parent. A positive youth development approach was undertaken by the Boys and Girls Clubs of America to develop and implement a Military Teen Ambassadors (MTA) training for youth in military families that would facilitate knowledge of resiliency and reintegration and foster leadership skills to build assets for themselves as well as their peers within their local communities. To determine if MTA was functioning as intended and to refine future programming, this preliminary formative study assessed perceived participant learning outcomes associated with MTA on variables pertaining to knowledge acquisition, perceived skill acquisition, and community needs awareness. Data were collected prior to the training, immediately following the training, and 6 months after the training. Repeated measures analysis indicated significant mean increases over time in knowledge and awareness of resiliency and reintegration; perceived leadership skills; and community awareness. Qualitative findings provided triangulation in the aforementioned areas. These findings strengthen the body of knowledge on resiliency by demonstrating that the 7 Cs model may be an effective strategy to incorporate into leadership development programs seeking to build knowledge of resiliency among military youth. Study limitations, lessons learned, and recommendations for further research are delineated.This study aims to identify the main predictors of cultural competence (CC). Given the high morbidity and mortality in people with psychiatric disorders, coupled with a worsening shortage of mental health care providers, there is an urgent need for AI to help identify high-risk individuals and provide interventions to prevent and treat mental illnesses. While published research on AI in neuropsychiatry is rather limited, there is a growing number of successful examples of AI's use with electronic health records, brain imaging, sensor-based monitoring systems, and social media platforms to predict, classify, or subgroup mental illnesses as well as problems such as suicidality. This article is the product of a study group held at the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology conference in 2019. It provides an overview of AI approaches in mental health care, seeking to help with clinical diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment, as well as clinical and technological challenges, focusing on multiple illustrative publications. Although AI could help redefine mental illnesses more objectively, identify them at a prodromal stage, personalize treatments, and empower patients in their own care, it must address issues of bias, privacy, transparency, and other ethical concerns. These aspirations reflect human wisdom, which is more strongly associated than intelligence with individual and societal well-being. Thus, the future AI or artificial wisdom could provide technology that enables more compassionate and ethically sound care to diverse groups of people.

In May 2016, nurse anesthetists with expanded scope of practice were introduced to anesthetic care. Administrative and medical record data were accessed to identify the occurrence of anesthetic outcomes including failed tracheal intubation and inability to ventilate with mask, aspiration, problem with airway in the post-anesthesia care room, hypothermia (temperature ≤ 35°C or chills), unplanned stay in the post-anesthesia care room longer than 3 houresthetic care did not jeopardize patients' safety or quality of anesthesia. Moreover, it may have beneficial impact in preventing prolonged stay in the post-anesthesia care room and hypothermia. Further research is required to examine the impact of involvement of nurse anesthetists in anesthetic care across all clinical contexts.Techniques for harvest and delivery of cell sheets have been improving for decades. However, cell sheets with complicated patterns closely related to natural tissue architecture were hardly achieved. Here, we developed an efficient method to culture and harvest cell sheets with complex shape (noted as microtissues) using temperature-responsive hydrogel consisting of expandable polyethylene oxide polymer at low temperature. Firstly, a temperature-responsive hydrogel surface with honeycomb patterns (50 and 100 µm in width) were developed through microcontact printing of polydopamine (PD). The human dermal fibroblasts (HDFBs) and human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) spontaneously formed honeycomb-shaped microtissues on the patterned hydrogel surface. The microtissues on the hydrogel were able to be harvested and directly delivered to the desired target through thermal expansion of the hydrogel at 4 °C with an efficiency close to 80% within 10 min which is faster than conventional method based on poly(N-isopropylacrylamide).
