Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) is a heterogeneous, debilitating, and complex disease. Here, we evaluated patients' symptomatology and the mitochondrial metabolic parameters in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and plasma from a clinically well-characterised cohort of six ME/CFS patients compared to age- and gender-matched controls. We performed a comprehensive cellular assessment using bioenergetics (extracellular flux analysis) and protein profiles (quantitative mass spectrometry-based proteomics) together with self-reported symptom measures of fatigue, ANS dysfunction, and overall physical and mental well-being. This ME/CFS cohort presented with severe fatigue, which correlated with the severity of ANS dysfunction and overall physical well-being. PBMCs from ME/CFS patients showed significantly lower mitochondrial coupling efficiency. They exhibited proteome alterations, including altered mitochondrial metabolism, centred on pyruvate dehydrogenase and coenzyme A metabolism, leading to a decreased capacity to provide adequate intracellular ATP levels. Overall, these results indicate that PBMCs from ME/CFS patients have a decreased ability to fulfill their cellular energy demands.HPV genotypes were determined in 63 vaginal squamous intraepithelial neoplasia (VaIN) and 7 vaginal squamous cell carcinomas (VaSCC). Of these, 37 cases had VaIN alone, and 26 cases had both VaIN and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) or condyloma. HPV typing was performed in scraped cells by Genosearch-31 (GS-31) and in the archived tissues by uniplex E6/E7 PCR. In a total of 49 VaIN1, 17 VaIN2/3, and 7 VaSCC tissues, the prevalence of HPV was 91.2% in VaIN (VaIN1 87.8%, VaIN2/3 100%) and 85.7% in VaSCC. Comparing HPV results in scraped cell and tissue, 46.2% of high-risk (HR) types and 68.1% of any HPV types that had been identified in cell samples were not present in corresponding tissues. HPV types in VaIN and CIN lesions differed in 92.3% (24/26) of cases with multiple lesions. These results suggest that there are many preclinical HPV infections in the vagina or the cervix, and VaIN and CIN are independently developed. The manual microdissection procedure of tissue revealed one HPV type in one lesion. Seventeen HPV types, including high-risk (HR), possible high-risk (pHR), and low-risk (LR), were identified in 43 VaIN1 lesions. In higher grade lesions, six HR (HPV16, 18, 51, 52, 56, 58), one pHR (HPV66), and one LR (HPV42) HPV types were identified in 17 VaIN2/3, and six HPV types, including HPV16, 45, 58, and 68 (HR), and HPV53 and 67 (pHR), were detected in each case of VaSCC. The vagina appears to be the reservoir for any mucosal HPV type, and HR- or pHR-HPV types are causative agents for vaginal malignancies.In the contemporary business environment where business ethics is critical for organizational performance, the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) is increasing. By investigating the mechanism of the effects of CSR on counterproductive work behavior (CWB), the present study suggests that CSR decreases negative employee behavior. Based on social identity theory and context-attitude-behavior framework, this research examines the underlying process and its contingent factor of the association between CSR and CWB. Specifically, this study hypothesizes that CSR decreases CWB by enhancing employees' organizational identification and that moral identity positively moderates the relationship between CSR and organizational identification. Using three-wave online survey data from 368 employees in Korean firms, this paper tested our hypotheses by conducting moderated mediation analysis with structural equation modeling. The results showed that CSR is negatively related to CWB through organizational identification and that moral identity positively moderates the relationship between CSR and organizational identification. The current study's findings have crucial theoretical and practical implications in CSR literature.The efficacy of onabotulinumtoxinA (OnaB-A) as a preventative treatment for chronic migraine, emerging fortuitously from clinical observation is now supported by class one evidence and over two decades of real-world clinical data. This review summarises briefly the proposed mechanism of OnaB-A in chronic migraine, the literature of predictors of clinical response, and recent developments in the field.All existing hybrid target localization algorithms using received signal strength (RSS) and angle of arrival (AOA) measurements in wireless sensor networks, to the best of our knowledge, assume a single target such that even in the presence of multiple targets, the target localization problem is translated to multiple single-target localization problems by assuming that multiple measurements in a node are identified with their originated targets. Herein, we first consider the problem of multi-target localization when each anchor node contains multiple RSS and AOA measurement sets of unidentified origin. We propose a computationally efficient method to cluster RSS/AOA measurement sets that originate from the same target and apply the existing single-target linear hybrid localization algorithm to estimate multiple target positions. The complexity analysis of the proposed algorithm is presented, and its performance under various noise environments is analyzed via simulations.Down syndrome (DS) subjects are more likely to develop the clinical features of Alzheimer's disease (AD) very early in the disease process due to the additional impact of neuroinflammation and because of activation of innate immunity. Many factors involved in the neuropathology of AD in DS, including epigenetic factors, innate immunity and impaired haematopoiesis, contribute significantly towards the pathophysiology and the enhanced ageing processes seen in DS and as a consequence of the triplication of genes RUNX1, S100β and OLIG2, together with the influence of proteins that collectively protect from cellular defects and inflammation, which include hepcidin, ferritin, IL-6 and TREM2. This study is aimed at determining whether genetic variants and inflammatory proteins are involved in haematopoiesis and cellular processes in DS compared with age-matched control participants, particularly with respect to neuroinflammation and accelerated ageing.
